Chapter 4: 4. Crimson Path Team

Kael reached the east gate of Grayhollow.

The wooden gate stood open under the morning sun.

A few guards leaned on their spears looking bored. Beyond it the dirt road led toward the low hills where the dungeon entrance waited.

Four figures stood near a stack of heavy packs and crates. The Crimson Path team.

They were famous in Grayhollow. Mission completion rate sat above ninety percent.

People respected them and feared them in equal measure.

When Crimson Path took a job the job got finished. When they walked the streets lesser adventurers stepped aside.

Two males. Two females.

The first female had light green skin that caught the sunlight like polished jade.

Her hair was the same soft green shade falling in thick waves down her back.

Small tusks peeked from the corners of her full lips. Hybrid orc.

Her body was thick and powerful with heavy breasts wide hips and strong thighs. She wore almost nothing.

Thin slits of dark cloth covered only her nipples and the space between her legs leaving everything else bare. Soft green skin. Deep cleavage. The curve of her ass. All of it on full display.

Beside her stood a dark elf. Light dark skin the color of rich cocoa.

Long black hair that fell straight past her waist. Sharp crimson eyes and pointed ears. She carried a sleek black bow across her back.

Her clothing was the same as the hybrid orc’s. Tiny dark strips that barely hid her nipples and the soft folds between her thighs.

Everything else was visible. Firm breasts. Slim waist. The smooth dark skin of her hips and legs.

In this world that kind of clothing was common.

No one stared for long. It was simply how many women of certain races and certain temperaments chose to dress.

A doujin-like freedom that the original Kael had grown used to and the new Kael still found dangerous to his self-control.

Kael’s cock hardened instantly under his trousers.

The first male was short. Barely five feet tall.

Soft youthful features and a slim frame. He carried a long sword across his back that looked almost too large for him.

The second male was full orc. Deep green skin heavy muscle and a broad chest. No weapon in his hands. Brawler or pure defense type.

The green-skinned hybrid held a wooden staff marking her as a mage.

The dark elf’s bow made her the archer. The short male was the swordsman. The full orc was the frontliner.

Beyond the usual races there existed one more. The monster race. They spawned endlessly from dungeons.

If a dungeon was left uncleared for too long it stopped being a simple hole in the ground. It became something alive.

Something that could birth a Calamity Devil. One thousand years ago that exact thing had happened.

A single Calamity Devil had destroyed half a continent before the heroes of that age finally stopped it.

Every last one of those heroes had died in the process according to the books. That was why dungeons were never left alone for long. That was why teams like Crimson Path existed.

Kael stopped a few steps away blond hair shifting in the breeze. The lean muscle of his warrior-class body stayed relaxed but his eyes stayed locked on the two nearly naked women.

The hybrid orc noticed him first. Her green eyes swept over his frame and a slow smile showed her small tusks.

"You the porter the guild sent?"

Kael nodded once.

"Kael."

"Good. Packs are ready. Try not to slow us down."

The dark elf’s crimson gaze flicked down to the obvious bulge in his trousers then back up. Her expression stayed cool but a faint curve touched her lips.

The short swordsman adjusted the strap of his blade.

"We leave now. The dungeon has traps and the last team that went in did not come back with everything."

The full orc grunted and cracked his neck.

Kael’s new Pheromone Skill (Lv.1) stirred quietly under his skin. Subtle. Passive. Already leaking into the air around the two women whose clothing left almost nothing to imagination.

He stepped forward and lifted the first heavy pack onto his shoulder. The weight settled easily against the lean muscle of his back and arms.

The team started walking. Conversation came easily between them.

The full orc glanced at the hybrid orc.

"Sister that last haul was better than I expected. Those crystal cores sold higher than the market price."

The light green hybrid orc laughed low and rich.

"I told you the mana density was rising in that dungeon. You just wanted to smash everything instead of collecting properly."

"Smashing works," the full orc replied with a grin. "Faster too."

The short swordsman kept glancing toward the dark elf.

His eyes lingered on the smooth dark skin of her back and the tiny strip of cloth between her thighs before he forced them away again and again.

The feelings he tried to hide were obvious to anyone paying attention.

They walked for several minutes before the dark elf suddenly spoke to Kael without turning her head.

"How long have you been doing porter work?"

Kael adjusted the pack on his shoulder.

"A few years."

Her crimson eyes flicked back to him for a moment.

She looked over the lean muscle of his arms and the way the black shirt pulled across his chest and abs.

"You have a strong body for it. Most porters get tired halfway. Do the job well today and there will be an extra reward."

The full orc’s expression darkened. The short swordsman’s jaw tightened.

The deep green orc male scowled.

"He is just a low level porter. That pretty face will not last long if a monster gets close."

The short swordsman nodded hard.

"Yes. Do not get comfortable just because someone is talking to you. Focus on carrying the packs."

Kael kept his face calm. Inside his thoughts turned sharp and cold.

’I will fuck your sister’s brain out and let you see what this face can do. Just wait.’

Out loud he only said:

"I hope you will protect me if something attacks. I am only a porter after all."

The hybrid orc glanced back at him with another small tusked smile.

"We always protect our porters. As long as they do not drop the supplies."

She slowed her pace until she walked beside him. Green eyes looked him over more carefully this time.

"Are you married or single?" she asked. "You have a good face. Better than most humans I see around here."

Kael met her gaze.

"Married."

"Really? Your wife is lucky then. Most men with a face like yours waste it on drinking and cheap whores."

"She keeps me busy enough," Kael answered lightly.

The hybrid orc chuckled low in her throat.

"Busy is good. Maybe after this run you can tell me more about—"

"Sister." The full orc’s voice cut in sharp and cold. He stepped closer putting himself between them.

"Stop talking to the porter and watch the road. We are almost there."

The light green hybrid rolled her eyes but moved forward again.

"Relax. I was only asking."

The dark elf said nothing more but her crimson eyes lingered a second longer than necessary before she faced forward again.

They continued down the dirt road toward the dungeon hills.

Soon the path opened into a cleared stone platform. At the center stood a swirling blue portal framed by ancient runes.

A single guard in guild armor waited beside a wooden desk with a ledger.

The hybrid orc stepped forward first and held out a small metal plate.

"Crimson Path. Four members plus one porter."

The guard checked the IDs one by one. The full orc. The short swordsman. The dark elf. Then Kael’s simple porter plate. He marked the ledger and nodded.

"Clear. Standard east dungeon link today. Go."

One by one the team stepped into the portal. Blue light swallowed them.

Kael followed last. The world twisted for a heartbeat. Most of the time the portal delivered a team straight into the linked dungeon.

Rarely the link shifted and sent people into a different dungeon entirely. Those cases were dangerous and almost never ended well.

When the light faded Kael stood on cold stone inside a dim cavern.

The air smelled of damp earth and faint mana. The Crimson Path team was already checking their weapons.

The dungeon run had begun.
