Viktor noticed Kyle was off, so he edged closer to the entrance, shouting his name to snap him out of it.
Kyle moved closer, his eyes turning blood red with hunger and fixed on Viktor’s throbbing veins.
Viktor was almost at the entrance when Kyle lunged forward, prompting Viktor to instinctively slash his claws at him.
Kyle tilted to the side as Viktor’s claws brushed past his ears, nicking off a few strands of his hair.
Kyle’s hand shot forward, aiming for Viktor’s neck, moving so fast that Viktor couldn’t dodge. Fortunately, his body was ingrained with survival skills and moved on its own before his brain could think.
So he successfully dodged the attack by a hair’s breadth. Kyle’s hand hit the air, creating a sharp gust, and Viktor’s heart sank.
Viktor’s eyes sharpened, becoming more serious. Kyle was far too gone, and if he didn’t take it seriously, he would die here.
He dashed forward, attacking Kyle and giving him no chance to use his speed.
His claws slashed toward Kyle’s neck, creating a deep cut, but it closed as his flesh mended, as if the wound were a trick of light.
His attacks were brutal, aimed to kill. Kyle didn’t dodge. He felt no pain and stared at him vacantly, like he was looking at his food jumping around.
"This isn’t fair, for f*ck’s sake!" Viktor yelled in frustration, feeling wronged.
Before, he could beat Viktor, but now that he has vampire speed, it has become impossible.
If he survived today, he planned to carry blood bags with him everywhere he went to stop Kyle from taking him as the next meal.
He swung his fist, hitting Kyle squarely in the face, but Kyle’s head tilted to the side from the force, a trickle of blood sliding down from the corner of his lips.
Kyle turned his face back, his eyes devoid of pain, instead glowing with excitement and bloodlust.
Already impatient and hungry, he lunged forward, catching Viktor’s fist and twisting it until a sickening crack of bone echoed through the room.
Viktor broke out in a cold sweat, his face ashen as he gritted his teeth to keep from screaming out.
He had no chance to get used to the pain when he used his legs to deflect Kyle’s hand aimed at his neck.
Another sickening crack of bones echoed in the air. Kyle caught his leg and snapped it like a twig.
"Ahh..." Viktor let out a breathless scream as he stumbled to the ground, his leg and arm dangling loosely at his side.
He hobbled unsteadily, his figure swaying as he fought to stay upright. Quickly, he used his free hand to press an acupoint on his body, instantly numbing the pain.
“Kyle, you idiot! Wake up before you kill me!” he yelled through clenched teeth, hoping Kyle would snap out of it.
Kyle merely frowned as if struggling briefly with himself before his face returned to its blank expression.
Viktor’s heart sank. He realized he was going to die here. His heart was filled with regret and unwillingness, then a thought flickered in his mind, and his eyes brightened.
’I’m such an idiot. I forgot I have a lifesaving space with me.’ Self-blame filled him as he wished he could turn back time and slap some sense into his past self, who had suffered unnecessarily instead of hiding in the space.
He was about to disappear into it when the sound of aircraft blades beating overhead froze him in his tracks. A flicker of cunning flashed across his eyes, and a strange smile briefly curled his lips before vanishing.
Kyle froze at the sound, a brief struggle appearing on his face. A sense of unease stirred within him, but his hunger soon overwhelmed it.
He flashes toward Viktor, his hand gripping Viktor’s neck tightly in a deadly choke.
Viktor didn’t fight back. Instead, a gleam of excitement filled his eyes. He couldn’t wait to be rescued and coaxed by Cyra.
Then Kyle, the stuck-up, clean-freak bastard, would be punished.
Cyra and Zane alighted from the aircraft and walked toward the mansion. As they neared the building, a muffled sound reached Cyra’s ears, causing her heart to quicken.
Zane’s mind was on the snacks he bought for Greed, so he turned toward the forest to find his beast instead of following Cyra in.
As soon as she entered, she noticed that Viktor was on the verge of being choked to death, and Kyle looked down at him with a blank expression, his fangs bared.
“I leave for a day, and you want to kill yourselves,” Cyra muttered, a frown forming on her lips as she flashed toward Kyle and pulled his hand away from Viktor.
She caught Viktor about to stumble to the ground, leaving her back open to Kyle, who seemed to have sensed something mouthwatering as he looked at her neck.
“Cyra... cough... you’re here. I thought... I thought I would die without seeing you or using that playroom,” Viktor said through strained gasps, coughing weakly in an attempt to evoke her pity.
Though Cyra knew he was pretending, she couldn’t help but feel her heart ache when her gaze fell on his broken leg and arm.
She remained silent and brought a finger to her lips. Then she sank a fang into it, opening a small wound.
Viktor watched her actions with a dazed gleam in his eyes.
Cyra brought her bleeding finger to his lips. “Drink,” she commanded as Viktor sucked her finger—his heart was soaked in warmth.
She was using her blood to heal him. He didn’t mind the rusty taste of her blood on his tongue and gently sucked on her finger. In that moment of distraction, she realigned his bones.
A muffled groan escaped his lips, and his eyes watered from the sudden surge of pain.
Cyra was about to check if he was injured anywhere else when she felt a sting on her neck.
Kyle sucked greedily at her blood, a look of bliss creeping across his face as he fed.
Viktor’s eyes narrowed, and a flash of killing intent crossed them when he noticed Kyle’s actions.
Jealousy surged within him, and even the drops of blood lingering on his tongue seemed to turn sour.
“He tried to kill me earlier, and now he’s feeding on you without permission. You have to punish him... maybe fire him, or let me torture him for a day as payback for what he did to me,” Viktor suggested. His expression was so aggrieved that he looked on the verge of tears, but his eyes gleamed with a cruel promise to torture Kyle to death the moment she agreed.
“Don’t worry. I’ll punish him later. How are you feeling? Does your body still throb with pain?” Cyra asked, concern evident in her voice as she ignored Kyle, who continued feasting on her blood.
Making it look like a mere mosquito sucking her blood. But once he was clear-headed, she would deal with him. For now, let him have his fill.
She didn’t notice how indulgent she was toward his act; if it had been someone else, she would have dug out their hearts as soon as they flashed their fangs at her.
Viktor pouted as he stretched his healed limbs, dissatisfied with her response. He wanted to see Kyle bleed as punishment for breaking his bones and nearly killing him.
“Why didn’t you enter your space when you noticed something was wrong with Kyle? You could have died if I hadn’t arrived in time to save you,” Cyra asked with a puzzled frown, her tone laced with barely concealed worry and fear.
Did he love pain so much that he would disregard his own life? The thought flickered through her mind for a split second before she dismissed it.
