Transmigration: I Made A Deal With A Man in Yellow
Chapter 56: The Bridge [16]Ezio proceeded to explain to me how armor worked and more things about it that I didn’t know. Thanks to his knowledge and experience, I was able to understand everything about it and find out what mistakes I had been making.
I started making the armor again from scratch, letting the boots crumble to darkness.
I wanted armor that would fit me well, not too heavy nor too light, that would serve almost like clothes that would allow me to move as I wished without getting restricted.
So I called upon my darkness powers again, I didn’t use too much nor too little darkness, just in the middle — a cloud of darkness rose from my feet and moved up over my legs, where it passed, a piece of armor would be created.
The boots formed with their protective gear, then the clouds moved to the thighs and the armor took shape and closed around my legs until the waist.
"Okay, that’s done." I sighed in relief and continued again.
The lower body was done, now what was left was the upper body.
The cloud of darkness continued up my waist and slowly passed over it — dark-like metal plates extended from the bottom of the cuirass to protect my waist, hips and upper thighs. Then the darkness cloud covered all over my chest and back — a dark breastplate took shape in front of my chest and a dark backplate formed behind me.
The cloud of darkness moved like a 3D printer at my command, wherever it passed, something was created and added to the armor.
After creating the frontplate and backplate, the cloud of darkness moved to my shoulders and reinforced them with dark metal plates as well — mind you, it was not real metal, it was just that I could mimic things thanks to my technique [Darkness Shaping].
Lastly, the cloud of darkness separated into two, and moved down both arms, piece after piece taking shape in their wake. The clouds reached my hands and the same gloves I always created with sharp nails formed, but this time they were reinforced.
The clouds of darkness dispersed into nothingness — I was finally done after two hours of imagining every single piece that made this armor.
"Congratulations, you have done it." Ezio congratulated me.
"Thanks to you." I said with a smile.
I looked at my gloved hands — I clenched and unclenched them. They felt good.
I tried to walk around and kind of expected to feel uncomfortable or a bit clunky, but yet, I felt like a bunch of pillows were hugging my body, making me feel comfortable.
"This is great." I said as I inspected my armor.
I was wrapped all in black and the armor made me look like a dark lord from a Souls game or something.
I stretched my body and did small sprints, back and forward. Everything felt alright.
"Are you not going to add a helmet?" Ezio asked.
"Nah," I turned around and looked at him. "I don’t feel like it’s necessary right now, and in addition, I don’t really like it, it’s going to ruin my hair — maybe in the future."
Ezio peeled a banana and for some reason, instead of just eating it like that, he cut the banana into 4 pieces with a knife made of shadows, stabbed a piece and put it in his mouth.
I frowned at his actions but didn’t question them.
"Then cut your hair. Simple." He finally said
.
"Nah." I waved my hand. "My long hair is fine."
"If you say so." He shrugged and put another piece of banana in his mouth.
Looking at my armor again, I had hoped it would become another technique created by me but by the looks of it, it wasn’t. I most likely had to create it all over again instead of just summoning it.
How did I know?
Well, I just knew.
Not so convincing, huh? You can sue me.
In the future, when I rank up my story for the first time, the system will be able to notify me when a technique is created, which is very helpful.
Oh, I had almost forgotten about something.
I turned to Ezio.
"Please hit me, Ezio."
Ezio stopped midway from putting another piece of banana in his mouth and frowned.
"Say that again." He said with a face that said he might’ve misheard something.
"I said that I want you to hit me." I said.
Ezio frowned and shook his head from side to side.
"Whatever you’re into, don’t make me part of it."
I frowned at his words.
"What the hell are you talking about?"
Ezio tried to stab another piece of banana but stabbed his hand instead — the pieces had finished, which made him frown and take an orange from the bowl.
Funnily enough, the knife never pierced his skin.
"You’re a masochist." he said.
"Huh? Why am I a masochist?" I asked, confused.
This wasn’t the first time he called me a masochist.
"You just said to me to hit you."
"Yes—" I froze and finally realized what he was getting at.
"You dumbass misunderstood. I want to test the defense capabilities of my armor and not because I want to get hit" I facepalmed.
"Ohhh, my bad then." He said.
"Did you seriously think I’d just ask you to do something without a valid reason?"
He shrugged as he peeled the orange.
"There’s always a probability."
"Probably my ass. Now hit me." I pointed at my chest.
Ezio finished peeling the orange and took a bite before standing up with a smile on his face.
Why was he smiling?
"Don’t hit me too ha—"
I couldn’t even finish the sentence when Ezio’s hand blurred and he had already connected with my chest — I was sent flying back and hit the wall, which shook the cave.
My body sank into the wall, which had web-like cracks from the impact.
"Argh." I let out a painful groan before my body fell on the ground.
This bastard was trying to kill me! Why did he have to punch me with so much strength?!
My whole body was aching all over and I swear, something had broken inside it but I didn’t know where.
"Ezio...you bastard...cough!" I coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Ezio’s smile left his face as soon as he saw me coughing blood on the ground.
"Crap!" He rushed to me and lifted me to sit up.
He got a healing potion out of his spatial ring.
"Open your mouth and drink." He instructed.
I opened my mouth and swallowed the potion.
The effect of the potion was instant and I felt the fresh energy of the potion healing my wounds and my broken bones.
Soon, I was completely healed and could no longer feel any sort of pain.
"You almost killed me." I said as I looked at my chest where my armor had caved in.
"I did hold back." He said as he scratched the back of his head.
"You didn’t hold back enough. This counts as attempted murder." I said as I fixed my armor.
"It can’t be murder if it wasn’t intentional."
My eyes narrowed and I smiled.
"It won’t matter if I tell my father."
At my words, Ezio’s face paled despite already being pale by nature, and he started sweating.
Seeing his troubled face made me laugh.
"Don’t worry, why would I tell my father? And even if I did, I don’t think he would care about it. I am the black sheep of the family after all." I said.
Ezio opened his mouth to say something but I cut him off.
"Anyway, try to hit me again, but this time with strength equal to mine."
I stood up and pointed at my breastplate, which was already fixed.
Ezio nodded and stood up as well.
"Brace yourself." He said.
"Don’t hit me too hard this time."
"I’ll try."
Ezio pulled his arm back and punched me straight on the chest again, but this time I wasn’t thrown away like earlier, instead my feet skidded back a few meters.
I felt a bit of pain but it was not a big deal. Most of the punch’s force was absorbed by the armor’s breastplate.
Hence, why I didn’t feel much pain.
When I looked at my chest, I could see that there was a small graze on it and it didn’t cave in this time.
"It’s quite resistant. I had made sure to punch with the exact strength of an Early Ascendant but I was only able to leave a scratch." Ezio said, his hand touching his chin as he walked around me looking at the armor.
If the armor was able to block that much strength, then it was already good — it would be much stronger if I was a higher rank since my darkness powers would have increased as well.
After that, we sparred with the armor on me so I’d get used to it. Then I proceeded to plan how I would take on the remaining skeletons during the night.
And just like that, the day passed and night had arrived.
The last night I would spend on the other side of the bridge.
