"I hate funerals."

The faceless man said.

Doha felt fear. An intense fear of the unknown behind him.

Was it human at all? Doha questioned it. It surely looked like a human from afar but he was no longer sure.

No human sounds that creepy and eerie.

He opened his mouth to say something and realized that... he could not.

His voice wasn’t working. As if he had forgotten how to speak. He was just there, holding onto the door of the funeral home, frozen stuck right there.

He felt the faceless man... entity get closer behind him.

"The first time I witnessed a funeral, I was three."

It sounded awfully monotonous and cold.

"My father had died. I couldn’t cry at all. Maybe he deserved to die."

What kind of sick logic is that?!

"It has always been that way. The more I hate something, the more it gets closer to me. The more I love something, the farther away it gets from me. I’m a contradictory existence."

Yeah, no shit!!

"I witnessed the second funeral when I was seventeen.

My mentor died. He had taught me how to use my powers. He was very special to me.

The next one was at nineteen. My mother figure died.

She fed me delicious meals since I lost my father. I liked her a lot.

Next was age twenty five. My sibling died."

Doha felt a sharp pain in his head as his body became free from the paralysis. He fell on the ground as blood began gushing out from his nose and eyes, turning his vision brownish red.

He could hardly make out what the entity was saying next.

"I made this so he could suffer just like I did.

He doesn’t deserve to live a happy life. Don’t you dare.

I’ll give him exactly what he gave me.

LOVE.

ABANDONEMENT.

FALSE HOPE.

BETRAYAL.

AND AT LONG LAST, A MISERABLE DEATH."

Doha could barely grasp what it was saying but he could feel it very clearly.

The intense hatred packed in those words as it poured out resentment in the form of language.

The funeral home door opened. Not by itself. Someone opened it from within.

Doha, gagged on his own gushing out blood, looked up with his bloody vision to see who it was.

The strange Jang Song-rik stood in front of with the same uninterested eyes.

He looked down at Doha collapsing at his feet. His face showed nothing but a total lack of any kind of emotion.

"How utterly miserable."

He said coldly while looking outside the door.

The faceless entity had disappeared. But the pain Doha was feeling hadn’t.

"Why would you do something so stupid if you can’t even handle the consequences?"

Doha gasped for air. He knew he had get inside somehow. But his body wouldn’t move and he was dizzy from all the blood loss.

His vision was becoming blurry on top of being tinted red.

The strange Song-rik stood there for a while, watching Doha writhing in pain and struggling to cross the doorframe.

He then held Doha’s blonde hair from the top of his violently and dragged him inside right in front of the doorway to the main funeral area, binso.

There was a women’s picture on the memorial altar. Doha didn’t know who it was. Partly because he couldn’t see a single thing clearly with his vision completely blurred.

Doha could see that strange Song-rik was in mourning clothes as he was close enough.

"Did someone... c.. close to you....die?" Doha asked as he twitched with blood loss. The trail of blood behind him by the door had started to dry.

But the blood was now forming a pool beneath his face that laid sideways facing Song-rik as he went and sat on the cheif mourner’s position.

At the question he sharply turned towards Doha and started laughing. Hysterically.

It was a creepy and uncanny laugh. As if he wasn’t human.

"Is this how miserable you are right now?" He mocked Doha.

"Am... I... dying?" Doha asked as pain had now stopped but he could feel himself slipping away from consciousness.

The blood wasn’t stopping oozing out from his eyes and nose.

"You’re like a cockroach. You don’t die even when someone actively tries to kill you." The Song-rik, now back to his disinterested face, said coldly.

Does he mean the faceless entity?

Doha felt lightheaded and whimsy as he slipped in and out of awareness.

"Do you know... what that was?" Doha asked deliriously. His voice resembled more moaning and less actual sentence.

The Song-rik looked at Doha in annoyance. As if it irritated him how chattery a dying man was.

’Can’t you just die quietly?!’ Is what he seemed to be thinking.

"You’ll know soon, it’s not like a lot of time is left until the second act," The Song-rik said in a airy voice. "Enjoy your little romance as long as you can."

He then stood up and walked over to Doha. He stared down at the half dead man with completely apathetic eyes.

He then kicked Doha on the head, knocking him out completely.

"ARGH!!!!!!" Doha screamed awake as he sat up in the bed. He had a slight nosebleed and tears were rolling down his eyes.

"What happened?!" Song-rik, woken up by the scream, immediately held Doha and asked.

*gasp!

*gasp!

*gasp!

Doha was hyperventilating and gasping for air as Song-rik struggled to calm him down.

After a while, rubbing his back and giving him water, Doha had somewhat come back to his senses. He then held onto Song-rik desperately as if just losing contact with him would kill him.

This was the first time a dream had scared Doha witless.

He felt a child clinging to his mother after a scary dream. But it was exactly that.

Song-rik couldn’t understand but he could guess that Doha likely had a nightmare.

Doha sobbed himself quietly to sleep again while nuzzling deeper and deeper into Song-rik’s embrace.

And Song-rik... he could only be worried about him as he kept gett a minor nosebleed until morning.
