Neo nodded. He knew the messenger was bluffing. She was not high enough in rank to command every demon in the ranks. Still, her words had landed clear enough. Protecting these women meant drawing a line. The demons had taken notice.
Gabriel turned and led the way down a long hallway. Neo followed, his broad shoulders rolling with each step, the hard muscle in his arms and legs flexing under his clothes. The corridor stretched on until they reached the final door. Gabriel pushed it open and her voice cracked like a whip.
"Support team 7, raise now and do the salute!"
Four women shot to their feet. Neo’s eyes moved over them one by one. Each one carried curves that hit him hard, the kind that could stir lust in any man with a pulse.
The tallest stood at the front. Purple hair fell past her shoulders. Purple eyes met his for a second. Her skin was fair, almost glowing under the lights. From the front he could already see how wide and full her hips sat. She snapped a clean salute.
"General Gabriel. The leader of support team 7, Uriel, salutes you."
Next to her stood a much shorter woman. Orange hair bounced around a face scattered with freckles. Orange eyes shone with easy sunshine energy. She was the plump type, soft and filled out in every place that mattered. Neo’s gaze dropped to her ass and stayed there a beat longer than it should have. He could already tell he would enjoy the feel of it under his hands. She saluted with the same crisp motion.
"Metatron."
The third woman stepped into line. Average height, but her chest stopped Neo cold. The biggest breasts he had ever seen pushed against her uniform, heavy and round. Green hair framed a face that looked permanently lost in the clouds. Green eyes blinked slow. She was clearly the airhead of the group, and probably the densest. She saluted with the wrong hand.
"Greenel."
The last one took her place without hurry. Blue hair, blue eyes, tanned skin that looked warm even under the cold lights. Her ass and breasts both outmatched the others in size and shape. She said almost nothing, just her name.
"Blial."
Gabriel gave a short nod. Then her eyes locked on Greenel.
"For that beginner mistake, Greenel, you will run ten laps around the big stadium."
Greenel’s eyes filled. Tears threatened to spill, but she locked her jaw. Crying would only make the punishment worse. She nodded once and left the room without another word.
Gabriel turned to Neo. "Get to know your team better. We go to war in two days."
Neo’s heart hammered. Two days? He had thought the fight was immediate. He reached for the system in a hurry.
The answer came flat and clear. The three-day countdown would not start until he set foot on the battlefield. Only then would the clock run. Stay longer than three days without enough heads and the punishment would hit.
Neo nodded to himself. He looked at the three women still standing there. Metatron seemed the easiest to approach. Sunshine energy, open face. He walked over and greeted her. She greeted him right back, voice bright.
His eyes drifted again over her curves. The soft swell of her hips. The full roundness of her ass. The way her uniform pulled tight across her chest. Then he glanced at Uriel and Blial still nearby.
"Can you show me around the place?"
Metatron’s face flushed pink. "Yeah, sure."
She was taken aback. This was the first time she had seen a human this handsome. Broad shoulders that filled the space. Arms thick with muscle. Legs solid under his pants. And the way he looked at her—open wanting—hit her like a warm wave. It felt refreshing. Most angels looked at women like her with something closer to disgust.
She knew why they had all been dumped into the support team. In angel society, heavy curves, big asses, big breasts, marked a woman as low-class. Something to be despised. Only a few exceptions existed. Gabriel was one. Her feats had outrun the whispers. Even so, the talk never fully stopped. Angels still muttered behind her back.
Metatron sighed under her breath. Gabriel felt guilty about it. Once, the general had admitted she would find a mercenary to watch over them. It was her way of protecting the ones she could not shield from the society’s view. A general could only do so much.
Neo’s hand closed around Metatron’s wrist. The grip was firm, possessive. Her heart jumped. No one had ever held her like that. The look on his face told her everything. He wanted her. The knowledge lifted something inside her chest. Her self-esteem rose a notch.
He pulled her toward the door. She glanced back at the other two.
"I’ll come back soon."
Uriel nodded. "Don’t wander into the forbidden area."
Blial said nothing. She turned and headed for her bed.
Metatron walked beside Neo through the massive headquarters. The building sprawled in every direction, halls branching into more halls, rooms stacked on rooms. They moved at an easy pace. Neo offered to play a simple game with her along the way. She laughed when she won. He laughed when she lost. He praised her talent and her skills without holding back. The words landed soft and real. She found herself looking forward to every next turn of the corridor.
They reached a black door in the north wing. Metatron’s hand shot out and caught his wrist again.
"Don’t enter there. A strong demon is sealed inside. They barely managed to lock him away after heavy losses. Just stepping into the room lets him control your mind."
Neo nodded. They kept walking.
A group of golden-haired angels carrying light spears rounded the corner and stopped. Their eyes landed on Metatron. Laughter broke out at once.
"Look at her. Working with humans now. Just as expected from a defect tool."
One of them clutched his stomach. "Even the army leader lumped you all into one group. The useless milfs. Hahahaha!"
Metatron’s shoulders shook. The words "defect tool" cut deep.
Neo moved. Heat rolled off him in a sudden wave. Torch man mode snapped into place. A strong pyro aura flooded outward. The ground under his boots melted into glowing puddles. Nearby windows shattered outward in a spray of glass. He closed the distance until his face was only inches from the loudest brat angel. His voice dropped cold and flat.
"Repeat what you said now and I would burn you as a cooked chicken."
