Chapter 270: Ruthless When Justified

Chapter 270: Chapter 270: Ruthless When Justified

By the time the Seoul security officers arrived at the scene of the brawl, more than twenty South Koreans had already been knocked to the ground.

A few members of the Huaxia exchange group had also been hit and injured, but thankfully, their injuries weren’t serious.

Wang Chenning had been very skillful this time. He hadn’t aimed for the South Koreans’ faces, instead striking places where injuries wouldn’t be visible without removing clothes, like their stomachs, waists, arms, and legs.

At first glance, none of the people lying on the ground appeared to be injured.

The few injured members of the Huaxia exchange group, however, all had visible facial injuries—bruises and bloodstains—making them look much worse off than the South Koreans.

As soon as the South Korean security officers arrived, Wang Chenning immediately stopped fighting and held back the incensed members of the Huaxia exchange group from attacking further.

The South Koreans who had come looking for trouble didn’t stop when they saw the security officers arrive; instead, they continued to act belligerently.

When they heard the sirens, Zhao Xiao’an and Yang Xiaofu rushed out of the barbecue restaurant.

Zhao Xiao’an and Yang Xiaofu ran forward and identified themselves. When the responding South Korean security officers heard that these Huaxia people were all members of the exchange group, and that Zhao Xiao’an was a reporter for Huaxia Central TV, they immediately realized the gravity of the situation.

They quickly rushed forward to stop their own countrymen from causing further trouble.

Several officers aimed their weapons at the South Koreans who still wanted to swing their bats, ordering them to drop them or they would open fire.

The lead officer also called for backup immediately.

After the South Korean security personnel arrived, Wang Chenning "took" a few hits from the bats.

He was shielding the others, and he even deflected most of the force, so the blows on his arm were practically painless.

But to onlookers, it looked like he was being continuously assaulted by the South Koreans, and one officer even moved to his side to protect him.

The South Koreans furiously complained to the officers about Wang Chenning’s "violent rampage," claiming he had single-handedly taken down all of them and that many were seriously injured.

Seeing that none of the troublemaking South Koreans had any visible facial injuries, the officers didn’t believe that Wang Chenning had hurt them.

No one would believe that one person could injure more than twenty people unless they saw it with their own eyes.

Reinforcements from the South Korean security office arrived in less than ten minutes. After receiving a report from a group member, Zheng Chusheng and several other leaders of the exchange group also reached the scene.

As soon as they saw how things had escalated, they immediately lodged a protest with the lead South Korean officer.

Amid the chaos, Li Fuzhen’s car also arrived at the scene.

However, after seeing that the security officers had already arrived and brought the situation under control, she didn’t get out of the car. She just gave Wang Chenning a call.

"I’ve already put pressure on the chief of the security office and Seoul’s administrative head. I will make them get to the bottom of this and give you a satisfactory resolution. I’ll come see you at the hotel later. You’re not hurt, are you?"

Wang Chenning replied with a smile, "You can just come over later and see for yourself if I’m hurt!"

"Alright!" Li Fuzhen didn’t say anything more.

Soon, a large number of security officers arrived and brought all the troublemaking South Koreans under control.

Those who didn’t cooperate suffered a beating.

After a few of the most stubborn South Koreans were violently subdued by the officers, the others didn’t dare to make another move.

A short while later, several high-ranking officials from the security office and personnel from Huaxia’s foreign affairs agency also arrived.

The heads of the foreign affairs agency concernedly inquired about our side’s injuries, then lodged a solemn protest with the South Korean side on the spot, forcefully demanding a thorough investigation and severe punishment for the perpetrators.

While our personnel were negotiating with the South Korean side, Yang Xiaofu and Zhao Xiao’an were posting about the incident on their respective social media accounts.

Zhao Xiao’an posted several photos from the scene on her Weibo, along with a few video clips of the South Koreans attacking our people with baseball bats.

"Teacher Wang was treating everyone to a late-night snack, and we were all having a great time, when a group of thugs suddenly rushed in and started attacking us with baseball bats without a word. To protect his companions from harm, Teacher Wang was the first to rush forward and stop them. Seeing the bats rain down on him, I was so heartbroken I wanted to cry. Thankfully, Teacher Wang is in great shape and didn’t collapse on the spot. We strongly demand that the South Korean authorities severely punish the perpetrators, investigate the cause and course of this incident, announce the findings to the entire world, and apologize to us..."

A little while later, she took new photos of the scene and uploaded them, telling everyone that the security officers had arrived, personnel from our foreign affairs agency were on site negotiating, and the thugs had been subdued. As for the final outcome, she would continue to report on it.

Zhao Xiao’an collected some of the clearer video clips and sent them to her colleagues, asking them to send them back to the station.

She then personally called the head of content review at the station, hoping to get the videos released to the public as soon as possible.

The executives didn’t dare ignore Zhao Xiao’an’s request. They immediately reviewed the video content and then requested instructions from their superiors.

Half an hour later, the videos were broadcast on a news program.

During the broadcast, the host also issued a solemn protest to the South Korean side, demanding that they severely punish the perpetrators.

The temporary on-site resolution was as follows: all the troublemaking South Koreans were taken back to the security office, most members of the Huaxia exchange group returned to their accommodations, and the few individuals directly involved remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation. After their interviews were concluded, they could also return to their lodgings.

Wang Chenning and his companions found this resolution acceptable.

Wang Chenning told the others to go back first, while he, Zhao Xiao’an, Yang Xiaofu, and a few others remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation.

The South Korean side didn’t give them a hard time. They politely asked about the situation, took down their statements, had them sign, and then let them go back to rest.

As Wang Chenning, Zhao Xiao’an, and Yang Xiaofu were about to head back to the hotel, several high-ranking South Korean officials came over to apologize. They reiterated that they would investigate the matter immediately and make the findings public.

The head of our foreign affairs agency also concernedly asked about Wang Chenning’s group’s injuries. Upon learning that they weren’t badly hurt and could handle it themselves, he had a staff member drive them back to the hotel and expressed his hope that Zheng Chusheng and Wang Chenning would do a good job of consoling the other group members.

Zheng Chusheng sent a new notice to the work group chat, stating that all of tomorrow’s activities were temporarily suspended, pending the results of the South Korean investigation.

Wang Chenning declined the foreign affairs head’s kind offer to have a car take them back, saying that the hotel wasn’t far and they could just walk.

On the way back, Yang Xiaofu said worriedly, "The South Koreans are notoriously shameless. I’m worried this whole incident will just end up fizzling out!"

"Impossible!" Wang Chenning shook his head. "Li Fuzhen will personally see to this matter. I expect she’ll continue to apply pressure. How we cooperate with her going forward will depend on how effective that pressure is!"

Wang Chenning’s words shocked both Zhao Xiao’an and Yang Xiaofu.

’This guy really doesn’t miss a single opportunity.’

Still, they were quite happy to see Wang Chenning take advantage of every available opportunity to scheme against others...
