Chapter 269: Chapter 269: Conflict

A group of young men stormed in, all of them looking menacing. Several were carrying baseball bats.

One of them shouted in Chinese, "Which one of you is Wang Chenning?"

No one answered. Instead, a few of the diners who spoke Korean loudly told the intruders to get out and not to disturb their barbecue and drinks.

The restaurant owner saw the large group storm in and hurried over to ask what was happening, only to be shoved aside by their leader.

The man who had demanded to know who Wang Chenning was then switched to Korean. He warned the owner that these Huaxia people had bullied their countrymen earlier in the day, and they were here to teach Wang Chenning and his companions a lesson. He told the owner not to get involved.

No one pointed out where Wang Chenning was sitting. But he was exceptionally handsome and surrounded by beautiful women, so the South Koreans spotted him quickly.

"That’s Wang Chenning!" Someone pulled out a phone and compared the man before them to a photo on the screen.

"Yeah, that’s Wang Chenning!" The whole group immediately grew agitated.

Seeing this, Wang Chenning had no choice but to stand. He took a few steps toward the group. "That’s right, I’m Wang Chenning. What business do you have with me?"

As he moved forward, he ordered Yang Xiaofu and Zhao Xiao’an to retreat to safety.

Yang Xiaofu didn’t want to retreat and tried to rush forward to help, but Zhao Xiao’an pulled her away. At Zhao Xiao’an’s insistence, the other women also moved further into the restaurant.

Seeing Wang Chenning step forward voluntarily, the group immediately surrounded him. The men at the front were all brandishing baseball bats.

Seeing this, the male members of their delegation, who were out for the late-night meal, all stood up and positioned themselves behind Wang Chenning.

Wang Chenning stared fearlessly at the young South Koreans. "What? You think you can take me on with force?"

"Get him!"

Someone yelled, and the men with the bats all swung at Wang Chenning in unison.

The sound was immediately followed by the shrieks of women.

With a THUD, Wang Chenning sent the man in front flying with a single kick. He then snatched a bottle from a nearby table and viciously smashed it against another attacker’s arm.

The South Korean he had kicked went flying, knocking over two of his companions behind him. The three of them tumbled into a heap and were trampled a few times by their panicking comrades.

The man whose arm was struck dropped his bat with a cry of pain. He doubled over, blocking the path of his friends who were charging from behind.

"All of you, stay back!" Wang Chenning yelled to his companions, telling them to call the police.

Having stunned the South Koreans with a kick and a bottle, Wang Chenning gave them no time to recover. He unleashed a series of swift, powerful kicks that sent them stumbling and falling.

Two South Koreans tried to flank him from a distance, but Wang Chenning simply grabbed a hot grill plate from a table and hurled it at them.

With two sharp cries of agony, the two would-be ambushers leaped into the air, scalded by the hot plate.

The restaurant’s interior was cramped and cluttered with tables and chairs. Although the South Koreans had superior numbers, they couldn’t leverage their advantage. In less than a minute, Wang Chenning had already taken several of them down.

The rest of them didn’t dare to charge forward again and all retreated.

Seeing how formidable Wang Chenning was, a few of the South Koreans grabbed bottles, bowls, and plates from the tables and started hurling them at him.

With lightning-fast reflexes, Wang Chenning hauled one of the downed men to his feet and used him as a human shield. All the projectiles thrown by the South Koreans—bottles, bowls, and plates—smashed into the unfortunate man, making him howl in pain.

"Wang Chenning, come on out if you dare!" Seeing the stalemate, one of the South Koreans pointed his baseball bat at Wang Chenning and yelled, "Come fight us outside if you’ve got any guts!"

Wang Chenning lifted the man he was holding and hurled him forcefully at the crowd of South Koreans.

The men at the front couldn’t dodge in time, and several were knocked over by the human projectile.

Wang Chenning vaulted over a table, launching himself into the air. He delivered a powerful front kick that sent the man who had just taunted him flying.

After being sent flying by Wang Chenning, the unlucky bastard crashed heavily onto a table behind him. He curled into a ball, too pained to even try to get up.

"Fine. I’ll humor you and play outside," Wang Chenning said, striding forward. Intimidated by his presence, the South Koreans instinctively retreated.

Wang Chenning pulled out his phone. He sent his location to Li Fuzhen, followed by a voice message: "Your countrymen are here for revenge. There are twenty-something of them with weapons, and they look like they want to kill me."

He also sent a quick voice message to Luo Yuqing: "Get in touch with Li Fuzhen, quick! We’re being mobbed!"

After sending the messages, he shoved his phone back into his pocket and strode out of the barbecue restaurant.

Zhao Xiao’an and Yang Xiaofu shouted from behind, telling him not to go outside. If he did, the South Koreans could fully leverage their superior numbers.

But Wang Chenning paid them no mind. Panicked, Yang Xiaofu immediately called Yang Xiaofei to explain what was happening.

Zhao Xiao’an called Luo Yuqing, urging her to contact Li Fuzhen immediately and ask for her help in resolving the situation.

Hearing from Yang Xiaofu and Zhao Xiao’an that Wang Chenning was fighting twenty to thirty South Koreans, both Yang Xiaofei and Luo Yuqing were startled and immediately began contacting people they could rely on for help.

There had been twenty-some South Koreans who stormed the restaurant. What Wang Chenning hadn’t expected was that there were another twenty-some waiting outside.

The moment he stepped out, he was completely surrounded.

Wang Chenning remained silent. He calmly assessed the situation, then suddenly made his move.

He lashed out with an incredibly fast and powerful axe kick. The nearest South Korean, who was holding a baseball bat, had no time to react before being knocked flat on the ground.

Wang Chenning immediately closed the distance, snatching the bat from the ground as he moved. He then delivered a vicious strike to another nearby South Korean who was also holding a bat.

Before the others had a chance to react, Wang Chenning had already taken down three men in rapid succession.

Seeing how ruthless he was, the other South Koreans instinctively took a step back.

"Don’t be afraid of him!" one of the South Koreans yelled. "There are so many of us and only one of him! We can just take turns and wear him out!"

The South Korean’s words had barely faded when all the male members of the Huaxia exchange delegation rushed out from the restaurant. Following close behind were a few female members who had martial arts training.

People who practiced traditional medicine, regardless of gender, all had some degree of fighting skill, as it was a foundational part of their studies.

Several members of the delegation were quite skilled fighters.

They couldn’t just stand by and watch Wang Chenning take on dozens of South Koreans alone. Even knowing how skilled he was, they weren’t about to let him fight by himself.

Wang Chenning didn’t want them to join the fray, but he knew they wouldn’t stand by as mere spectators. He could only tell them to be careful, to stick together in groups of two or three, and to avoid getting hurt.

He didn’t pause his own assault, continuing to press the attack against the South Koreans with even more ferocious moves.

The South Koreans may have been numerous, but they were nothing more than a disorganized mob.

With Wang Chenning’s extreme agility and the arrival of over a dozen reinforcements on his side, the South Koreans failed to gain any advantage despite their superior numbers.

Just as Wang Chenning took down the twelfth South Korean, the sound of police sirens grew louder, drawing closer...
