Chapter 273: Chapter 273: Back and Forth

Of course Wang Chenning believed in Li Fuzhen’s influence.

The influence of the eldest princess of the Shanxing Group was likely no less than that of the person in charge of Seoul’s administrative affairs.

Wang Chenning also believed that everything Li Fuzhen did was to please him, without any regard for the feelings of her countrymen who had committed the assault.

"Thank you, Sister Li!" Wang Chenning didn’t press the matter, just expressed his thanks. Then, he asked Li Fuzhen if she would be going to the airport to pick up Luo Yuqing.

"I’m terribly sorry, but I have important matters to attend to this afternoon, so I won’t have time to greet Miss Luo!" Li Fuzhen told Wang Chenning that she was having Li Yanxian meet Luo Yuqing on her behalf. Li Yanxian would bring Luo Yuqing directly to her residence, and she wanted Wang Chenning to come over as well so they could all have dinner together.

"Alright!" Wang Chenning didn’t mention that he was also going to the airport, simply accepting Li Fuzhen’s invitation readily.

After the meeting, Wang Chenning went to see Zhao Xiao’an off.

Zhao Xiao’an was naturally delighted that Wang Chenning was going to the airport to see her off.

Even if he hadn’t, the divine experience he had given her over the past two days had already left her more than satisfied.

Last night, she had witnessed Wang Chenning’s prowess. This morning, she had experienced his thoughtfulness. And through it all, she had felt a sense of perfect bliss.

Gazing at the radiant, beautiful face in the mirror, Zhao Xiao’an felt utterly captivated.

She had never imagined that the "thing" between a man and a woman could be so intoxicating.

’If I had known, I would have done it long ago. Why did I wait until coming to Seoul?’

Still, Seoul was destined to become a place she would never forget.

’From now on, I’ll have to come to Seoul once a year, stay in the room Wang Chenning stayed in, and repeat the events of that night many, many times to commemorate it.’

On the way to the airport, she cast aside all pretense and leaned against Wang Chenning the entire time.

In Zhao Xiao’an’s mind, since they were already so intimate, there was nothing wrong with being openly affectionate.

Zhao Xiao’an’s colleagues didn’t find their intimate behavior strange at all. They figured the two had only kept their distance before to avoid making a bad impression.

Now that it was just them—people in the know—there was no need for such reservations.

Zhao Xiao’an had wanted to snap a blissful photo of them cuddled together, all sweet smiles, to post on her social media, but Wang Chenning talked her out of it.

"These are sensitive times. The less trouble, the better!"

Ultimately, Zhao Xiao’an still followed her heart.

The IQ of men and women in the throes of passion always drops, but a woman’s seems to drop more precipitously...

After the group arrived at the airport, Zhao Xiao’an kept her arm linked with Wang Chenning’s, acting coyly with him from time to time.

As she was about to go through security, Zhao Xiao’an pulled Wang Chenning into an inconspicuous corner and gave him a long, passionate kiss as a farewell.

"When you get back to Yandu, I’ll make sure to schedule two days off!" Zhao Xiao’an whispered in Wang Chenning’s ear. "Then... you can have your way with me!"

"I never thought an ethereal, pure-hearted fairy could be so captivated by such things!" Wang Chenning said, pinching her cheek, a bit lost for words. "In that case, just wait until I get back to Yandu. I’ll dote on you for a few days. Just don’t blame me for not holding back!"

Zhao Xiao’an reluctantly let go of Wang Chenning. As she walked toward the security checkpoint, she suddenly doubled back and whispered to him, "Could I get pregnant? Should I take something?"

Wang Chenning replied with a smile, "When you want to get pregnant, you will. When you don’t, you’ll never have to worry."

"I knew you were the best!" Zhao Xiao’an gave Wang Chenning a thumbs-up, then added a reminder. "Don’t take some of the things I said in the heat of the moment seriously, and forget them as soon as you can!"

With that, she pecked him on the lips again, then skipped off to catch up with her colleagues.

Watching Zhao Xiao’an’s true, uninhibited nature come out, Wang Chenning could only sigh in resignation.

A little while after Zhao Xiao’an disappeared into the security checkpoint, Wang Chenning received a call from an unfamiliar number.

He answered it and heard a woman’s voice on the other end.

"Do you know who this is?" the person on the other end teased.

Wang Chenning replied, "Miss Li, Li Yanxian. I’m guessing I’m right!"

She didn’t deny it. "And I’m guessing you’re at Incheon International Airport right now, aren’t you?"

Wang Chenning quickly glanced around, but saw no sign of Li Yanxian.

"Miss Li Yanxian, are you at the airport?"

"Yes, I just arrived!" Li Yanxian confirmed. "I just got to the airport. Where are you?"

After Wang Chenning told her his location, Li Yanxian hung up.

About fifteen minutes later, as Wang Chenning was resting in a chair, Li Yanxian came into view. She wore a baseball cap, glasses, and a white trench coat that gave her a dashing, stylish air.

He stood up and gave her a wave.

Li Yanxian immediately quickened her pace and walked toward him.

About fifteen meters behind her, a man and a woman, both wearing glasses, followed.

He didn’t need to look to know they were her bodyguards.

"My aunt asked me to come pick up Miss Luo Yuqing," Li Yanxian said, walking up to Wang Chenning. She took off her glasses, a faint, unreadable smile on her face. "Miss Zhao Xiao’an leaves today. I figured you’d be at the airport."

"You haven’t arranged for some people to ambush me on my way out of the airport, have you?"

Li Yanxian blinked, then burst out laughing. "Why would I do that?"

Wang Chenning replied with a smile, "Don’t all South Koreans hate me? Someone already tried to kill me just last night!"

"You’ll find extremists everywhere," Li Yanxian said, sitting down in a chair and gesturing for him to do the same. "Aren’t you an extremist yourself?"

"My methods are just a means to an end," Wang Chenning said, sitting down next to her. "Besides, I helped those arrogant South Koreans see reality."

Li Yanxian stared at Wang Chenning, unblinking. "Why are you so good at medicine? And so skilled in... other areas, too?"

"What’s this? Getting interested in me?" Wang Chenning gave a knowing smile. "It’s a dangerous thing when a woman gets interested in a man!"

"Aren’t you the arrogant one!" Li Yanxian sniffed disdainfully, then looked at him with that same unreadable smile. "Men and women are always interested in exceptional members of the opposite sex, aren’t they?"

Wang Chenning: "So, you’re saying I should be interested in you, too?"

Li Yanxian was noncommittal, her topic jumping again. "Did my aunt encourage you to pursue me?"

Wang Chenning narrowed his eyes as he looked at her. "If I did pursue you, would you say yes?"

"You haven’t even started pursuing me. Why should I give you an answer?" As she spoke, a sly look appeared on Li Yanxian’s face.
