Professor’s Lounge

Over five professors were crowded in the lounge as they watched the commotion unfold.

But at this very moment, tension was somewhat high because of a teasing professor.

Clark’s face was darkened as he wanted an outlet to vent.

His slip of the tongue caused him embarrassment, but what was more infuriating was the damnable Fourth Prince.

He gave the latter so many hints on what to do, but they only disappointed his expectations repeatedly.

To thoroughly repay his debt to House Viren, he was supposed to assist the Fourth Prince before the semester officially started.

However, this supposed easy task was ruined terribly, and it was all because of this special admission, Raymond "Ray" Carrion.

’This Ray is just a disaster everywhere he walks.’ Clark thought to himself and was about to let loose on the teasing professor.

Just when he was about to do just that, another voice echoed.

"Oh, it looks like an interesting event is happening." Cowell appeared from behind and mused. His eyes were focused on the student Ray, who was still trying to provoke more students.

Needless to say, if it were just Cowell, then Clark still wouldn’t put his hand down.

After all, behind Cowell was someone whom Clark had no choice but to shrink his neck.

"I was wondering why there was so much noise at the usually quiet lounge. It seems like you’re all enjoying some entertainment without any intent of inviting me." Margaret stepped forward and questioned. Her eyes soon locked on Clark, who immediately stood up from the couch and offered his seat.

"Take a seat, Professor Margaret." Clark smiled awkwardly; his previous violent temper vanished in an instant.

The other professors all chuckled in a low but subtle audio from the side.

It was no secret to them why Clark behaved like a mouse that had met its nemesis, the cat.

When Clark was first introduced as a professor in the Crestellan Academy, he thought he was the best of the best. He showed zero respect to his colleagues and even tried to start a hierarchy.

In the end... Clark just had to choose Margaret as his first opponent during her extreme foul mood period.

And because Clark caused many professors to disdain him in the past, none of them bothered to warn him about Margaret’s terrible mood.

In fact, they even gloated and boasted to Clark that they would acknowledge him if he subdued Margaret.

Without a surprise, Clark, who was recently hired, ended up taking a 3-month break from the start due to multiple fractures.

Not even healing magic was able to recover him fully at the time, which goes to show Margaret’s ferociousness.

Since then, Clark had always behaved like a good boy toward Margaret and never dared to show any arrogance.

This was called being so beaten up and turning into a respectful person.

"Mind fetching me some cold water, Clark?"

Margaret took his seat and asked softly.

"My pleasures!" Clark saluted and immediately dashed to the water dispenser.

The other professors giggled subtly, but soon, their eyes returned to the screen.

"Why isn’t this student, Raymond, starting the match?"

"It seems like he’s still calculating the points."

"2,700 points before the school even starts tomorrow. If he really earned that much, then he would have broken a record."

The Professors all commented and made a secret bet among themselves as to whether Ray was being reckless or was confident.

"I bet this Student Raymond will win." And to everyone’s astonishment, Margaret suddenly raised her hand and voted in favor of Ray.

’Hmph, this punk was able to withstand my mana and even deflect it with ease. There’s no way he’s an irrational and impulsive person.’ She sneered inwardly.

Although everyone in the room respected Margaret, opinions were bound to be different and varied.

"I doubt this Student Raymond could defeat this many students at once. There are even second-year students involved, who have learned magical combat."

"I admire his courage to take on so many without a sweat, but this is indeed a bit too much."

’That’s only if he fights fair.’ Margaret didn’t bother to correct these people’s mindset. She had a big feeling that Ray was going to pull some underhanded moves.

After all, that was what he did against her.

In a real fight, Margaret could easily put Ray down to the ground. But he was clever to constantly use Belva as a shield to prevent her from even making a move.

While the professors were discussing among themselves, back at the Arena Section, the students who deposited their points were annoyed.

"Are you coming up or not?" The very first fiery, hot-headed student asked in a raised tone.

"I’m just calculating that the math doesn’t seem right." Ray rolled his eyes.

"You said you had 340 points, so how come the total is 2700? Shouldn’t it be 2740 points instead?"

"..."

Almost everyone dropped to the ground when they realized he wasn’t fighting because he was questioning the accumulated points.

"As if I’ll gamble all 340 points away! I’m reserving 40 points even though I know you’ll lose. Only a dumb gambler would toss away all their chips without even giving themselves a what-if possibility."

"Ah, so you’re just afraid and a coward to summarize." Ray clasped his hands and appeared to have been enlightened.

"You should have told me that you were like the rest of the cowardly dogs. You really made me rack my brain hard because I thought where did the extra 40 points go, or did someone try to underpay me?" He criticized like an adult would do to a playful child who caused a mess.

"..."

Sure enough, the person was infuriated and directly deposited their remaining 40 points into the formation.

"Now stop stalling!" They shouted angrily.

"Geez, you’re so impatient. I feel bad for your future girlfriend, mister 2-second guy." Ray cleared his throat and jumped to the arena once he confirmed the additional point that bumped to 2,740 with Belva.
