Chapter 575: Chapter 575 – Amethyst.

In the past, there was once a guild.

A guild that was well known... No.

It was pretty much known throughout the whole game.

The game was still young at that point, but still, the Amethyst guild managed to rank first in the game and hold this position for a long time.

And it was all thanks to the high-ranking members of the guild who were managing the guild, they worked something like a council.

But there was a leader figure amongst them.

A player by the name Sengen.

A female player who was one of the few players who were the quickest to unlock special race [Royal Snake].

Her fame, beauty and power made her stand out, alongside the fact that she held one position of the guild master of the BEST guild in the whole game.

She had it all.

Her guild had it all.

She wasn’t the strongest in the game, but she kept up extremely high-ranking position no matter what.

Truth to be told, many people considered her guild to be the one that would rule the entire game.

But the incident occurred.

During one of the guild wars where the Amethyst guild fought the number 2 and number 3 guilds in the game.

That battle was meant to show the dominance of the Amethyst guild, to solidify their existence as the BEST guild in the entire game.

However, during the war, the Amethyst guild members were making way too many mistakes for some reasons, giving countless openings and advances to their opponents.

It was unnatural and Sengen instantly realized that it wasn’t some mistakes.

It was a sabotage.

...But she realized it too late.

The enemy already finished up their preparations and when they struck?

Only destruction would be left behind.

The several of highest-ranking members of the Amethyst guild as well as good part of the high and regular members betrayed the Amethyst guild, straight up butchered them from inside out, giving the opening for the other two guilds to slay the Amethyst guild and win the guild war.

After war was over, the traitors left the guild and went their own ways, or they instead may had joined the current number 2 or number 3 ranked guilds.

Nobody really knew why the betrayal happened... But many people are saying this.

The Amethyst guild was far too strong, and so the other guilds united to destroy the Amethyst in order for them to not dominate the game.

Some people are saying that the highest-ranking members, the one who ruled the guild alongside the guild master were straight up paid to betray their own guild.

Nobody truly knows the truth, but people believe that these two reasons are the most likely reasons why the Amethyst guild was butchered like that.

After the incident, the Amethyst guild not only lost massive amount of their territory in the process, but also quickly dropped down from the rankings.

Not only that, with that betrayal, the remaining players in the Amethyst guild were distrustful towards the guild, not knowing when they would end up being betrayed or they were just scared after witnessing what had happened to the guild after the whole incident.

And because of that, players started leaving the Amethyst guild.

Obviously Sengen tried saving her guild... But the damage was beyond catastrophic.

She could not fix the wounds or the damage that the betrayal had caused, nor she could stop the cracks from keep appearing within the guilds.

Some people also exploited Sengen desperation as she tried to restore her guild, resulting in her getting fooled and robbed.

This only add more fuel to the fire, causing the guild to straight up become nothing more than small sized guild.

And then?

Everybody left.

The Amethyst guild was dissolved.

One of the most powerful guilds in the whole game was gone just like that.

As for the guild master of the fallen guild, Sengen?

She tried to recover... But after a while, any noise about her disappeared.

She and her guild were reduced to nothing more than background story that slowly disappeared over time.

Some people who were question about her said that she may had quitted the game.

But that wasn’t the truth.

Even after her guild, her name as well as her entire fame was gone, she was still in the game.

[Sometime after Phantasia had recruited Orion and decided to help out Maparapara in search for the divinity.]

[Location: Trio City]

"Ahhhhhhh.... Where the fuck I can find somebody." – said Thanatos in her disguised mage outfit with a mask as she was sitting in the tavern.

(It is good that Phantasia managed to find somebody as quickly as possible... But fuck me right now.) – thought annoyed Thanatos.

(WHY THE FUCK THERE IS NOBODY HERE FUCKING GOOD?!)

[Trio city]

[A city that was originally made by combining the three different cities.]

[This city is located in the peace zone and it is consider as one of the largest cities in the whole game world.]

[Not only that, but that city is pure neutral.]

[It is not truly own by any nations, causing this city to be many things.]

[Be it a place of meeting between countless powerful nations or mighty and powerful beings.]

[Or one of the largest trade centers.]

(After the last location was so shitty because there was way too many guilds there, straight up making me impossible to headhunt anybody, I decided to come here, fully knowing that the guilds wouldn’t have any chance at dominating this whole place... But.)

(I think this place maybe even worse.)

(I’ve gotten here just now, and yet the situation with recruiting people is way harder than I thought.)

(True. There is shit tons of people, but the security here is no joke.)

(Despise being city that isn’t owned by any nation, they had made sure this place as much secured as possible in order to make sure there wouldn’t be any criminals trying to exploit this place.)

(I can sneak around and avoid most of the guards with ease... But there is also a lot of the top ranking players here.)

(I can also avoid them.)

(The players aren’t problem, nor are the guards.)

(So what is it?)

(....THERE IS WAY TO MANY PEOPLE HERE!)

(The method I’m using is targeting several people and then observing them in turns in order to see who they are.)

(BUT I CAN’T DO THAT!)

(if I look for one person, I will have to somehow find once again one of the list targets I’ve made, from the freaking countless people in this ginormous city, which could range from a hours to even a day.)

(This won’t work.)

(I will have to just stalk single person.)

(BUT WHO?!)

(I’ve seen good number of thug like bastards.)

(Greedy bastards.)

(And all sort of other type of bastards.)

(They will ALL join our side in exchange for the power.)

(But the problem is loyalty.)

(They will betray us at the moment notice.)

(And this isn’t something we can have.)

*Sigh*

(Yeb. This place was worst possible choice. I will have to look somewhere else for the recruits.) – thought Thanatos as she left the bar and started wandering through the streets.

(But where exactly?)

(The peace zone that I was in and that guy was in were filled up with guilds.)

(Probably all sort of peace zones are also filled up guilds.) – thought Thanatos as she entered bit more desolated part of the city while the night sky filled with the clouds covered the entire city in shadows, making the street lamps the only source of the light.

(Maybe I should try poaching somebody from some guild?)

(There will be definitely those who would betray their own guilds for power and may end turn out loyal... But if I were to fail once, it could result in the people finding out what I had been doing, the whole recruitment talk.)

(I obviously would have to reveal who I’m working for, so there is no chance that "betray your guild and work for my nameless extremely shady boss who I will not tell you who they are!")

(If that fucks up and I just reveal my name, then recruitment will become way harder and it will take WAY too fucking long to finish.)

*Sigh*

(Yeb... This place should do.) – thought Thanatos as she looked around.

(I will just enter some alleyway and contact Phantasia. I will have to inform him that it may really take me long time before I can find somebody.) – thought Thanatos activated her stealth skill and then entered the alleyway in order to contact Phantasia.

"THIS WASN’T PART OF THE DEAL YOU BASTARDS!" – shouted the female voice.

"..."

(God fucking dammit.) – thought Thanatos as she started sneaking around.

(Somebody already took this place?)

(I swear to god, there is really no fucking place where you can have private conversation here either?) – thought annoyed Thanatos as she slowly moved forward.

(Fuck it. I’m leaving this place anyway, so I will just kill them in order to not waste anymore of my time.) – thought Thanatos as she peaked behind the corner and noticed a group of four people.

"THIS IS ONLY THE HALF OF THE MONEY YOU HAD PROMISED! YOU PIGS!" – shouted the female player wearing a cloak.

(Oh... They are fighting... Fucking nice.) – thought even more annoyed Thanatos.

(The guards may come here soon because of the commotion they are making, so I should-)

"?" – however, just as Thanatos was about to make her move, she stopped in tracks as she saw a face of the female player.

"???"

"?!"
