Chapter 1240: Chapter 534: True Warhammer Unmatched

Lorne sending Kaled to the Imperial Army Camp was not without reason. It was well known that Kaled had a good relationship with Laine, and Laine was openly in a relationship with the Duchess of Nuer, Emmanuelle, and was even the father of her child. Laine had also publicly acknowledged his paternal role, and having Kaled as the liaison was agreeable to the Nuer side as well.

Amidst the thunder of artillery fire and the volley of musket shots, Kaled returned with his men: "The camp over there has fallen! My Imperial brothers! We must break through!"

"How do we do it?" The Imperial General also knew they had to break out of the encirclement, and they shouted: "There are too many enemies!"

Kaled nodded grimly and glanced back, seeing the entire direction of the camp already swallowed by the Undead Army. Lorne and his knights were nowhere to be seen; perhaps they had fled or perished in battle.

But now was not the time for hesitation, as the Death Wind was wreaking havoc on this land! A large number of dead Brittania Army forces were reviving! The Undead Army would only grow larger!

"The enemy has stationed heavy troops to the north!" Kaled immediately shouted, pulling the reins of his beloved horse: "Conversely, the number of garrison troops to the south is small. We’ll break through to the south! We will join forces with Laine Macado’s army south of Musillon!"

"Right! Let’s break out!" Boris von Rukov immediately nodded, mounted his warhorse with a leap, and lifted his cavalry lance: "Soldiers, my troops, follow us and break out to the south!"

"Break out to the south!"

The Imperial Army began breaking through to the south, relying on their formidable firepower and well-trained military quality. The Fireworks Academy Mercenary Corps charged directly southward in the darkness. Mathew Bade had deployed most of his forces in the north to encircle Lorne, leaving the remaining Undead Army vulnerable to the Imperial Army, who charged and suddenly created a gap for the Fireworks Academy to break through!

At the forefront was Kaled de Galament, clad in a surrounding golden light, alone like an ivory wedge charging with thunderous force into the center of the storm.

A Black Chalice Knight rushed forward to confront Kaled head-on, but before he could assume a combat stance, his head was pierced by Kaled’s cavalry lance and thrown high into the air, tumbling a dozen meters back into the Undead formation.

Following closely by Kaled’s side, Imperial General Dietrich swallowed hard, watching the single strike that instantly killed the Black Chalice Knight. The entire figure, along with full plate armor and the fully armed Undead Warhorse, was lifted by Kaled’s arm and thrown, thinking to himself how terrifying that arm strength was.

Like a beast!

Kaled continued swearing along the way, invoking the will of the Goddess to judge the Undead with a death sentence, charging ahead and wielding the cavalry lance. Stab, jab, charge, kill; none could withstand wherever he passed. The lance head swung wildly, and where the lance tip touched, over a dozen Desolate Tomb Guards fell under the holy power.

Seeing this, Boris von Rukov raised his eight-shot revolver fire cannon, pulling the trigger repeatedly. The dense gunshots echoed across the night sky, and the Desolate Tomb Guards who were regrouping fell one by one. Seeing Kaled and the vanguard’s bravery, the Imperial troops were invigorated, resolutely following in loud shouts.

The Undead encirclement was collapsing, and at this moment, Mathew Bade clutched a wound on his head, his face scarred by Lorne’s mount, the Horned Eagle Beast Biquis, using its claws and beak. When Mathew Bade attempted to rise and finish off, Lorne and his mount were already gone. His subordinate De Liones seized the opportunity to break out with a hundred knights, escaping northward.

"Wuwuwu!" Mathew Bade roared madly: "Merovin! Block them! Block Kaled and the Imperial Army!"

"Today, I will cleanse this land with blood to console my mother!!!"

Following Mathew Bade’s order, the Mad Duke Merovin led a large group of Undead Black Knights and Blood Knights to charge at the Imperial Army trying to break out to the south.

However, the Imperial Army was not without support. Just as Kaled was leading the charge at the forefront, a force of over seven hundred knights joined him. Leading them was Duke Hagen of Jisoleox, the Holy Grail Knight sweeping through all undead before him. His stag riding spear emitted a pure light, and as the duke fought tirelessly, a white stag light emerged from the spear, repelling the undead’s power. Skeleton Warriors and Zombies almost turned to bone fragments upon being illuminated by the stag light.

Relying on Duke Hagen’s martial valor, the Imperial Army merged with the troops from the Jisoleox Duchy. Amid the chaos, Duke Hagen saw Kaled and shouted, "Can anyone tell me what on earth is happening?! Why did Lorne suddenly catch fire? Why did Aldred and Fulcard not come to assist?"

Hagen was truly bewildered by all this, but his excellent military capability and personal martial valor quickly made him realize something was amiss. He immediately ordered the soldiers to assemble and break through to join with the Imperial Army.

Since the Undead Army led by Mathew Bade was insufficient in numbers, the scale of the surprise attack on the camp housing the Jisoleox Duchy troops was smaller. He quickly led the knights out to join the Imperial Army.
