They see themselves as the bringer of culture.

They believe their culture is superior and their civilization is superior.

Hence, they do not understand how highly the people of the Steppe views the hospitality law.

It is more than just some cultural obligations. It is a covenant between mortals, an invisible connection between the divine

How the hospitality laws evolved to this, no one knows. Some said it is because the Divines honoured those who honoured hospitality laws

It is because in the past, the gods would disguise themselves as the lowliest of mortals. And they would test the mortals with test of characters, they would see ow mortals treat those below them

Those who gave the One Eyed God shelters in times of need and abided by the law of hospitality would be rewarded by the god

The Wolf God of the Marynku also sometimes appears. But His test would be different. His test would be the test of survival.

Sometimes, He would aid you in hunt. Sometimes in battle, appearing like an omen, bringing tidings of danger, warns you of a perilous path.

Gods roamed these lands before, walking among the people

Maybe this is how hospitality matters become so deeply ingrained and so deeply important for the people of the Steppe

As for the new God, He is something different

However, in the now.... sometimes, they come in dreams, in omens, in the glimpse in the reflection of water or in mirrors.

Rarely now, one would see they walk among the people

Even when they do walk among the people, no one really knows their identity unless they wanted to be knows.

However, the war between Yan and the Steppe people would not stop even if they somehow accepted the fact that they disrespected the Steppe gods.

it is not so much that the gods was disrespected. It was more of the fact that the Yan people came to their land and they disrespected them

the affairs of men has always been the most complicated.

If it was something deserved, then maybe the tribes would not react so violently.

If it was a grudge between the tribes and the aristocratic families of Yan, then it is just a tribal matters.

But the Steppe tribes gave those people food, drinks and instead of appreciating and having gratitude, they slaughter the people who gave them food and drink and shelter.

The Yan people reputation for evil is known. When they came into lands of native people, they were treated kindly

Then they see the kindness as some kind of weakness. The tribes understand that cooperation is the key to a happy life.

To survival. Without a community, a person lost their souls, lost their purpose. Their so called freedom is nothing more than like a kite that has been cut from their strings.

But the Yan could never accept any other races than their Yan people.

The war also unites the tribes and the people of the Steppe and a different kind of sentiment rises

"I am the man of the Steppe"

This was their first awakening.

To the people of Yan regardless of the difference of tribe, they see the Steppe people all as the same

The people of Steppe themselves did not see it that way.

But when the Yan dynasty indiscriminately kills all tribes and uses their heads as a way to claim merit, they did not care whether this one come from some tribe in the south or some tribe in the west

To them it is all the same.

And since that is the things they believed, the Greta Steppe united because they have the same enemy

And once you fought alongside each other, there is affinity

But that is not enough. The Yan united the people of the so called "barbarian" tribe
