"So, let me get this straight. You want to be in a polygamous relationship with both of them?"
Megan physically recoiled as she said it, pulling her head back in disbelief. Clara, meanwhile, simply stared at Alexandra, who very casually took another sip of her red wine with a small smile resting on her lips.
"Yes."
Liam nodded without hesitation. He agreed on the spot, and this was exactly why he had specifically booked the entire hall, so they could have this conversation openly without strangers listening in.
Never in his life had he imagined reaching this point, yet here he was, seated among three beautiful women and feeling just a little nervous about how badly Clara might overreact.
"So, she can drink wine, but I can’t even drink beer?"
That was Clara’s response, and it left Liam slightly stunned. His mouth opened and closed once before his mind suddenly pulled up the memory of him stopping her from ordering beer with pizza back in California.
"Y... yeah. She’s twenty-two, so..."
"Ah! She’s older than us."
"Yep. So, are you cool with that?"
Liam asked Clara directly. She looked back at him with an expression that practically said, ’Do I even have a choice?’ Liam only smiled and gave a small shrug, almost answering her with, ’This is what it is.’
"That’s good. At least you didn’t hide it from me."
"That was always my intention. I never wanted to cheat, and I’m not that kind of person. But now I’m... what you could call filthy rich. I have money, so of course I’m going to get attention from women. Still, I promise you this—I’ll never cheat on either of you."
"I understand. Sigh! I already knew I probably couldn’t keep you all to myself, but this is good too. At least now I know exactly what your intentions are."
Unlike the other times when she behaved like a complete buffoon, Clara was surprisingly easy to talk to this time. Even Megan kept giving her a few shocked glances, clearly not expecting her to accept everything this calmly.
"Clara? Now that we’re sister wives..."
"I’m the first wife—well, girlfriend. So even if you’re older than me, I’m still above you in the hierarchy."
Clara leaned back in her chair, picked up her glass of water, and looked Alexandra directly in the eyes with a broad smile.
"Sure... so, do I have to call you ma’am?"
"Sure, if you want."
Liam looked at the two women casually jabbing at each other, then glanced toward Megan. She only smiled at him, grabbed a roasted chicken breast from the table, and started eating like she was watching a movie and the chicken was her popcorn.
...
"Here, I got you guys a new phone and laptop. Megan, you get one too."
"It’s cool. You don’t need to give me things."
Although Megan said she was cool with it, she still took the new phone and MacBook into her hands, placed them beside her, and went right back to eating. Everything on the table simply tasted too good for her to care about anything else right now.
"I’m going to have to hit the gym after eating this much."
Megan said it casually, making Liam glance at Clara with a slightly confused expression. Megan was usually the quiet type. She didn’t talk much, always stayed clear-headed, and remained conscious of the environment she was in. But right now, she was simply doing whatever she felt like doing, which surprised Liam a little.
"That’s called the Clara effect, hehe. I’ll take you to the gym every day in my car. Hey, you know what? We can find a gym somewhere between Rider, my university, and Princeton, and go there together."
Clara laughed when she saw Megan behaving more like her, careless and simply following her heart. Megan nodded her head aggressively at that point, because unlike Clara, who could eat whatever she wanted without getting fat, Megan knew she would gain weight in no time if she kept eating like this.
"I see. You guys were having fun."
Liam smiled and nodded before slicing open the rare steak he had ordered. He dipped a piece into Peacock’s special butter sauce and put it into his mouth, while noticing that Clara was sidelining Alexandra quite nicely throughout the conversation.
Alexandra simply smiled and continued eating her food. Surprisingly, she felt refreshed. From Clara’s perspective, today had probably been a heavy day, but for Alexandra, it was almost the complete opposite. Liam had publicly acknowledged their relationship, and now she could finally go back home and be beside her mother.
I can never ask for anything more than this.
"Clara, I’m sorry. I came into your life and ended up sharing your boyfriend, but... let’s try to get along?" [Charisma: 123]
Alexandra used the sweetest voice she could muster. After pouring two glasses of wine, she gently offered one to Clara. Clara looked at the glass for a moment, then glanced at Liam before finally taking it into her hand.
"I’ll make an effort."
"Thank you, ladies—and Liam—for your time. I should get going now. I still have a long journey ahead."
After taking the last bite of her steak, Alexandra wiped her mouth and stood up gracefully. Clara gave her a slightly fake little ’bye-bye’ wave, while Megan smiled politely at her like she was looking at an older aunt.
"I’ll see you out."
Liam stood up as well. The two teenagers were still behaving like their usual selves, so at least someone had to act properly. More importantly, Alexandra was about to travel back alone after everything that had happened today, and Liam didn’t feel right simply letting his new lover walk out by herself without seeing her off.

[Side Mission Complete: Megan needs a brand new MacBook.]
[Reward: Simple Disenchantment Card. (Item)]
[Explanation: Can help reduce the effects of certain spells.]
[AMPLIFYING THE REWARDS BY 10,000X...]
[NEW REWARD: Holy Disenchantment Card. (Divine Tier Item)]
[Explanation: A one-time-use item capable of removing curses, infatuation, and sickness caused by ghosts.]
As soon as Liam stood up, a new system pop-up flashed across his vision. The moment he saw the reward, a small smile formed on his face. Without wasting any time, he mentally commanded the system to bring the item out.
A faint red glow immediately appeared from inside his pocket, growing brighter for just a second before settling down. Liam slipped his hand inside and slowly pulled out the card, the remaining red light fading across its surface as it came into view.
[Your Wish is My Command]
Reading the words on the card, Liam let out a quiet chuckle. A tiny skull printed beside the line made the whole thing look more like some strange voodoo card than a Divine Tier item. He was still looking at it when he turned slightly and noticed Clara staring directly at him.
Her gaze was intense, almost unnaturally full of affection, as if everything else in the hall had disappeared from her attention. The smile on Liam’s face slowly faded as he looked back at the card in his hand, then at Clara again.
Activate.
Liam flicked his wrist and sent the card flying toward Clara. The moment it left his fingers, the strange card slowed in midair, as if the space around it had suddenly turned heavy. Fine cracks of red light spread across its surface, then the whole thing began to disintegrate piece by piece, breaking apart into glowing crimson dust right in front of her.
Before the last fragment could fall, all of that red light suddenly gathered into a single narrow beam and shot straight into Clara’s forehead. The beam vanished the instant it touched her, as if it had sunk directly into her head, leaving only a faint red shimmer in the air for a brief second before even that disappeared.
"What was that?!"
Clara nearly jumped in her chair, immediately touching her forehead where the red beam had disappeared. Megan stared at her with wide eyes, completely forgetting about the food in her hand. Even Alexandra, who had already started walking away, stopped and looked back after hearing Clara’s shriek.
"Magic."
Liam replied casually, giving them a wink and a small smile like he hadn’t just thrown a glowing card into Clara’s head. In front of his eyes, however, a new system notification appeared.
[Updated]
[Divine Card has been used: Clara Hartmann’s artificially amplified Infatuation toward Host has been completely removed.]
[Her natural emotions and memories remain unaffected.]
The moment he finished reading it, his smile became much more genuine. A weight that had been sitting quietly in the back of his mind finally disappeared. Whatever Clara felt for him from now on would actually belong to Clara, not some ridiculous system reward messing with her emotions.
This was a good reward. Thank God I didn’t overdo it.
Liam had briefly thought about completing Megan’s mission by overdoing it and giving her a pile of MacBooks, but that would have looked stupid, and explaining it to the girls would have been even worse. He was already introducing a new woman as his lover today; there was no reason to add more unnecessary bullshit on top of that.
So he had kept it simple, gave Megan what she actually needed, added a phone beside the system mission, and moved on without making a spectacle out of it. Looking at the Divine Tier card he had received in return, Liam knew he had made the right call.
Sometimes doing exactly enough was better than trying too hard.
