Chapter 411 231: Being a Dog (Part 2)

2. The Dragon Eater Association's goal this time is to release the Mad Dragon from beneath Traitor's Cliff. I have to leak this information as soon as possible. Knowing the Dragon Eater Association, they definitely won't just sit back and wait now that they know I've appeared at the Monastery.

If Jack didn't screw up, the message should have already reached Westminster Cathedral and been forwarded to the London Tower. With the power of that Golden Mage at the London Tower, he should be able to handle this in time with a heads-up.

3. Since the auction at Traitor's Cliff is targeting the Dragon Witch, I, having a Blood Covenant with her, have a reason to inform her. Otherwise, who knows what kind of mess will unfold.

As for everything else, I'll figure out how to deal with it later.

"Constantine… Don't think I can't do anything to you just because you're a Bronze Tier Dragon Knight! Have you heard a single word I've been saying?!"

Spiritual Power was already surging from Freya's Magic Staff. Baron was now convinced that Fla hadn't lied to him; Freya and Fla really didn't share memories.

'But that wasn't the case for KK and Carmen. Oh, whatever. I just told myself not to think about these things. It's pointless to dwell on it now.'

"Didn't Fla tell you? I'm not the murderer." Baron paid no mind to Freya's posturing.

"Fla…" Freya froze, shock flashing in her beautiful eyes. "How do you know about Fla…? What… what is your relationship with her?!"

Baron said coolly, "She told me everything."

"Everything…" Freya came to her senses and retorted angrily, "You're lying! Why would Fla tell you? You're nothing to her! I was your former fiancée, not her!"

'This woman really has been spoiled rotten. I haven't even said anything, and she's already blurted out everything about Fla. Should I call that stupid, or just naive?'

'Still, choosing to announce our broken engagement at the London Tower… even for someone naive, that was just plain stupid.'

"So, your brother and your fiancé like her, not you."

"You… What did you say…" Freya stared blankly. "You…"

For the first time, a mocking smile appeared on Baron's face. "You… didn't know?"

"Know what…"

So Baron relayed everything he'd learned from Fla. When he was done, Freya looked completely dumbfounded, muttering to herself:

"This is impossible… This is impossible…"

She looked utterly broken.

Baron watched with amusement as his former fiancée slowly crumbled after learning the truth. For some reason, he felt a small… thrill?

'Is this the pleasure of revenge? No, you couldn't really call it revenge. It's probably more like a sense of relief after being worn out for so long.'

Suddenly, Seagull came in. He was slightly surprised to see Freya pointing her Magic Staff at Baron, but seeing Baron signal with his eyes that everything was fine, he leaned in and whispered in Baron's ear:

"The auction at Traitor's Cliff has been moved up. It's tonight at eight."

After delivering the message, Seagull left, not forgetting to close the door behind him.

"You're spouting nonsense! How could the Hestia Family possibly collude with the Dragon Eater Association? Today, I will pass Judgement on you in the name of the Prole Court!"

A brilliant light flared from her Magic Staff. Freya was clearly casting Magic.

'Baron sighed. His ex-fiancée was just too arrogant and clueless. If his upcoming plans didn't require her, he would have gotten rid of this stupid woman long ago.'

'It's so much easier talking to Fla.'

"What's this…?" Freya watched as the light on her Magic Staff dimmed.

"A Forbidden Magic Array… You can't summon your Spiritual Power, can you? And don't even think about using that Taboo Item necklace around your neck to escape. You don't have any Gold on you, Miss Freya."

Cold sweat beaded on Freya's forehead as the Lawbreaker came up behind her, grabbed her shoulders, and forced her down into the chair.

"Baron! What do you think you're doing?!" Freya tried to struggle, but she couldn't move at all. She had called out Baron's name instinctively.

'This was to be expected. Wizards are useless in close combat; how could one possibly stand up to the strength of a Knight, let alone a Dragon Knight like him? She was simply outclassed.'

"Constantine! What the hell are you doing?!"

The Lawbreaker grabbed her snowy-white wrists and held them together. Then, he took a long rope and tied her exquisite, curvaceous body to the chair.

She was already dressed rather lightly today, especially after Fla had taken off her Dragon Eater Association robes. Thus, her struggling revealed more than a little skin.

Baron glanced over a few times and silently rated her in his mind: BAAB.

"L, when are we heading out? The auction is tonight… Uh, you guys carry on. I'll just… not interrupt." Jack, who had just snuck in, scratched his head and backed out again.

Once Jack was gone, Freya started cursing again:

"Disgusting Lawbreaker! Bastard! Maggot! Scum! Breaking our engagement was the best decision I've ever made in my life! 'If I can't have it, I'll destroy it'—that describes a shameless man like you perfectly!"

'Your insults are weak, little girl. Way too polite… If I really let loose, I could reduce you to tears.'

Amidst Freya's not-so-ladylike curses, Baron placed [A Certain Collar That Compels Obedience] around her snow-white neck.

Freya, who had resigned herself to her fate, froze. Then she saw the Lawbreaker sit back down in his own seat.

Freya's body stiffened, and just as an angry expression appeared on her face, Baron said, "Good girl. Head pats."

Then, Freya's head moved uncontrollably, pressing against Baron's palm and rubbing against it like a dog.

"You… you monster… what did you do to me?!"

Freya watched in horror as her body performed such a "degrading" action against her will, her voice trembling.

It wasn't just Freya who was startled; even Baron, the instigator, was a bit surprised.

'Looks like this necklace is even stronger than I imagined. To think this is only a D Level Taboo Item. I always thought the only impressive thing at D-level was a woman's chest. I guess that's a Taboo Item tainted by [Mystery] for you.'

'Come to think of it, Jack really is a disgrace to D Level. Heh... another jab at the D's.'

Baron looked at Freya, who was grinding her teeth in fury yet was forced to rub her face against his palm like a little puppy, and said lightly:

"Miss Lancelot, let's cooperate."

"Why should I help you?" Freya said. "Just because of your one-sided story? You expect me to believe you didn't kill Anthony…?"

Baron said nothing. Instead, he pulled out a recording pen from a corner and pressed play. His conversations with the Dragon Eater Association's High Priest and with Fla played back.

Watching Freya's expression go slack, Baron said coolly, "Miss Lancelot, do you believe me now?"

Freya didn't speak. She just sat there dazedly in the chair, her pretty face a mask of disbelief, like a wind-up doll that had run down.

"My brother… Anthony… Why did they want to kill me…?"

Tears welled up in her eyes, about to fall. Seeing her like this, she didn't look like a princess of the Lancelot Family, but more like a little girl.

"Why… Fla… why did she kill my Anthony… why…"

Normally, at a time like this, Freya might need some comfort. But Baron was merciless. Or rather, he had no reason to show any mercy.

"Because you are too arrogant, too rude, too defiant, and too domineering… This is also why Fla, despite having the exact same face, is so much more popular than you."

'Baron wasn't about to coddle her. True, Freya might not have been directly involved in him being framed, but it was impossible to say she was completely blameless.'

'First, she single-handedly announced to the entire Inner Side that she was breaking her engagement with him—or rather, with the body's previous owner. You could say she ground the entire Constantine Family's face into the dirt. This, in turn, intensified the ostracization he and his sister faced within the clan, planting the seeds for them to be kicked out of the Constantine Clan.'

'Second, from a slippery slope perspective, it's possible her act of trumpeting the broken engagement to the whole world is what led to the current situation… Baron sighed. He suddenly felt like an idiot for arguing with such a petulant, child-like girl.'

Seeing that Freya was still crying, Baron handed her a tissue and said coolly, "Since you're still doubtful and don't believe it, how about you come see with me…?"

"See what?"

"The true faces of those people."

"Those people…" Freya's expression faltered.

"Yes, their true faces. And to do that, I'll need your help, Miss Lancelot." Baron smiled slightly. "That will be the best compensation you can give me."
