Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?
Chapter 1702 - 1010: Chaos Unleashed (Part 2)Once his thoughts were stirred, he suddenly felt that some scenes in his memory had become uncertain.
First and foremost, the Great Demon City is inland, and river channels were dug to ensure irrigation water sources for the Great Demon Tree. The water volume in these channels couldn’t possibly create the tsunami-like waves in the end.
Next, when did his Mad Fire spray onto the Great Demon Tree? Why did it suddenly set the whole tree ablaze in an instant?
Finally, now that it’s the fourth day, what exactly is Onora doing? With her personality, it’s impossible for her to have delayed matters until now.
These triple doubts intertwined, causing his brows to furrow increasingly.
Memories always remain blurry; without witnessing key points firsthand, it’s impossible to be absolutely certain. But when uncertainties pile up, doesn’t that mean there’s definitely something fishy going on?
"Could it be that these are not coincidences?"
"What did you say?" Shark looked at Dorian, puzzled. The latter waved his hand, saying "Nothing" and remained silent.
Upon seeing this, Shark shrugged and said before turning to leave:
"Since you’re awake, that’s good. The problems over at the Great Demon City are likely still unresolved, so you can stay here with us for now. The beast tide has reached its tail end, and our tribe is very safe now."
"Mm." Dorian nodded without refusal.
After Shark left, Dorian sat back on the bed and began earnestly recalling his memories.
From setting foot on the Demon Continent to entering the Great Demon City, and finally confronting Onora, every detail he could remember, he meticulously reviewed.
Trying to discern if he had ever felt any "being watched" sensation or identified any unnatural places.
But no matter how he thought, his memories were completely normal.
This indeed started to seem bizarre and even horrifying!
Facing such circumstances, Dorian clasped his hands together in reverence and muttered to himself.
"Mad Fire God bless."
After speaking, he stood up once more, filled with confidence.
If he suspected there was something fishy behind the fire at the Great Demon City, then he could not afford to continue being leisurely and idle; he must achieve results.
Before that unknown Black Hand appeared, he absolutely must grow his own influence and power.
"Ah-ah-ah, the beast tide is coming!"
At that moment, cries of alarm suddenly erupted from the Deep Sea Tribe outside, followed by a strong stench of Demon Beast invading Dorian’s nose. He kicked open the door, seeing nothing but chaos within the tribe.
The Deep Sea Tribe was built along the seaside cliffs, and now within the ocean they relied upon for survival emerged horrifying and menacing sea monsters, massive groups of beasts charging at them.
"How can such a large-scale beast riot occur at the tail end of the beast tide season?" a Demon Race member yelled incredulously.
The beast tide is a major calamity that the Demon Continent faces every few years, essentially a mass rampage of monsters attacking Demon Race cities, and every decade or so a super beast tide occurs.
Quite unfortunately, now was the season of the super beast tide.
The strength of this beast tide forced High Priest Onora to roam the entire continent to help stabilize the situation. After much effort, she managed to allow small tribes, which could be easily overwhelmed by beasts, to linger on until now, facing the imminent end of the beast tide season, soon able to welcome good days again.
Yet now suddenly, the Deep Sea Tribe encountered another beast tide.
Shark was vigorously commanding the tribe’s actions, but it was obvious that after months and months of fighting the beast tide, they were completely drained, now especially struggling.
Dorian felt almost deceived; he had not expected the Deep Sea Tribe to be so weakened now.
However, this presented a golden opportunity to show off.
The fierce battle between the Deep Sea Tribe and the beast tide was on the brink, and suddenly the site was filled with the roars of monsters and the cries of the Demon Race.
Utilizing their high cliff’s geographical advantage, they launched attacks at the sea-emerging beasts from high ground. But the beasts were not to be trifled with; they quickly surged upwards in layers, some even breaking out from the flanks in encirclement.
The scene appeared reminiscent of a zombie siege.
"No good, tribe leader! A batch of fighters were sent out to support the Great Demon City yesterday, and now our combat force is severely lacking!"
"Retreat, head for the nearest Dungeon; there’s a chance to regroup!"
"I can’t hold on any longer, I really can’t!"
The morale of the Demon Race warriors began to crumble.
"Damn it."
Shark clenched his fist, ready to abandon thoughts and leap down to blow up with the beasts when suddenly, an unusually high-temperature flame with strange colors shot from behind.
"Pop!"
The flame, akin to a sniper rifle shot, blasted the lunging beast to pieces, these fragments swiftly being engulfed by flames, tumbling downward.
"Huh?"
He was stunned for a moment, turning to see Dorian approaching the defensive fortifications while rubbing his eyes.
Yellow Mad Fire flowed out from his fingertips, plummeting to the ground in heaps, stirring up sparks.
"Having trouble? Let me help you first." He smiled a kind expression at all the demon’s eyes upon him.
"What are you—"
Shark’s eyes widened, staring straight at the scattered Mad Fire on the ground. This peculiarly dancing yellow flame—others might not know—but he, who had witnessed it firsthand, wasn’t confused, was he?
This was the fire that burned the Great Demon Tree!
But at that moment, Dorian raised a finger to his lips, smiling at him.
Suddenly, Shark felt a mortal life-threatening crisis, words stuck in his throat, not daring to utter a breath.
Dorian leaped up, ascending to the lookout platform, opening his arms wide towards the surging beast tide, tearfully exclaiming:
"Transform into the first flames I ignite here!"
Then, the passionate tears in his eyes transformed into scorching Mad Fire.
A grand cascade of Mad Fire poured forth, bombarding the beasts.
Although their bodies were still stained with dampness, the slick skin and lingering seawater would drastically reduce flame-based damage, the Demon Race members revealed disappointed expressions seeing Dorian resort to fire attacks. Only Shark, discerning something, grew even more terrified.
A second later, intense flames suddenly shot up from beneath the cliffs, startling all the Demon Race.
The beasts’ cries of wailing followed, fulfilling one’s bloodthirsty desires majorly.
A curious Demon Race member lowered their head to look and was left immobile watching.
They saw beasts writhing in agony amidst the flames, dense twisting like ants boiled in water.
Their stacked density made it so when the Mad Fire descended, the compact gathered beasts ignited instantly, leaving no time for reaction.
Dorian continued shedding hot tears, passionately confronting the monsters.
Yet the beasts couldn’t withstand the intensity anymore. They were wild but not witless. The still-unburned beasts turned tail and bolted back into the ocean.
"Hahahaha, hahaha!"
"Incredible, incredible!"
As Dorian’s laughter echoed, realizing their safety, the cheering Demon Race members rejoiced, though they were uncertain why Dorian suddenly transformed into such a powerhouse—their lives were saved, and that was worth celebrating.
Within the joyful Demon Race crowd, only Shark, along with several who accompanied him to the Great Demon City previously, wore conflicted expressions, resembling one who consumed filth.
At this moment, amid the cheers and praises, Dorian slowly turned around, seemingly wanting to accept people’s admiration.
But, the critical point being.
As he turned, the Mad Fire in his eyes did not cease.
"All together receive the flame’s gospel! Hahaha!"
