Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?

Chapter 1708 - 1013: Losrik City (Part 2)

He could only interrupt his attack motion and used Hidden Mist Fierce Bird to dodge the sudden assault, crashing the heavy hammer toward the Knight as he descended.

"Bang!"

Surprisingly, the Losric Knight’s reaction was extraordinarily quick, instantly turning around and raising his shield to block, firmly deflecting the strike!

At this moment, the previously fallen Losric Knight also managed to get back up, eyes glowing red as he charged at Leon.

Enhanced by the Priest, the Losric Knight’s body was so tough that it seemed impossible to strike through.

However, the idea that an adventurer capable of defeating the King’s Soul bearer and the Ember King would be in dire straits under the siege of two red-eyed Losric Knights was a bit far-fetched.

He grabbed the thrusting long spear, skillfully deforming the Losric Knight’s movement, causing his shield-holding arm to twist, and then kicked away the Big Shield.

But instead of attacking, he dodged the attack of another Greatsword Knight, using the opening from the opponent’s lag to smash the dagger through the seam of the Long Spear Knight’s helmet!

Before he felt the rush of warm blood, Leon immediately swung the heavy hammer to execute the Greatsword Knight, but at that moment, the seemingly frail Priest charged forward and bumped into him, showing a sacrificial spirit to save the Knight.

Of course, this collision was like a mayfly hitting a big tree, having no impact on Leon, who then swung the hammer swiftly, taking down both the Greatsword Knight and the Priest.

A sudden encounter, which could have sent many back to the bonfire, was resolved just like that.

After accomplishing all this, he finally took a deep breath, skillfully picking up the light points dropped by the enemies, all uniformly wedge-shaped stones of varying sizes.

Only then did he have time to take a look at the surrounding scene.

This was clearly some sort of prayer facility, with a shrine-like setup at the center directly facing the large door, but the most eye-catching were the sculptures arranged on the ground.

Row upon row of Losric Knight statues lay dead on the ground.

Their presence transformed this place from a prayer room to a Heroic Spirit Hall.

Leon couldn’t understand what kind of artistic gesture this was, but he was greatly shocked.

Recalling the journey, he had encountered many things similar to these statues, such as headless Losric Knight statues, self-decapitated knight sculptures, or weapons scattered everywhere.

He also thought of the Priest who had bumped into him; linking all these actions together...

It felt like the thick scent of sacrifice lingered throughout Losric City.

Losric City gave him an uneasy feeling; it was as if the culture of sacrifice was being venerated here, even to a sickening degree.

"Forget it, keep moving forward."

He took steps along the visible path, moving through the vastness of Losric City.

Exiting the prayer room via the side path led to a staircase hall larger than a typical living room, where every two steps on this spiraling stairwell stood a Losric Knight, each accompanied by a Priest for assistance.

Although a single or a couple of Losric Knights didn’t pose much of a threat, their Priest-enhanced toughness made them seem almost iron-bodied, impossible to kill or injure with a few strikes, and greedy attacks ran the risk of being countered, leaving him no choice but to exchange a few rounds with them before achieving victory.

Simply ignoring them and running away wasn’t viable, as the Losric Knights inexplicably had an extraordinarily wide aggro range, and even a slight sprint would trigger a horde of knights chasing behind.

So, what else could be done? Only killing!

The presence of the Losric Knights significantly slowed Leon’s exploration progress.

He spent a considerable amount of time exploring Losric City, meticulously examining every corner and carefully observing various arrangements.

Somewhere along the way, he found himself interested in the information these objects might contain, no longer just a fighter who sought thrilling battles.

In Losric City, what captivated his attention aside from the numerous sacrificed knight statues was another element—Dragons.

Many setups featured dragon motifs; some went as far as to display Dragon Riders outright, ensuring no one missed that Losric City was a dragon-friendly city.

Concerning this, Leon had heard much before.

He first learned about Losric City’s alliance with dragons back in the Yilushier Underground Prison, where, after killing malformed creatures that failed to evolve into dragons, he acquired relevant information.

For instance, Osroes, the King of Losric City, was obsessed with dragon power, conducting numerous cruel experiments in pursuit of dragon transformation, earning the nickname Demon King.

The description of the Losric Knights’ armor set straightforwardly pointed out the alliance between Losric City and dragons, noting that many knights fought alongside dragons.

"The founder of this country could surely chat happily with the Sun Elder Son."

Leon jested as he continued exploring, encountering several blocked paths along the way, and coupled with Losric City’s maze-like complexity, he found himself repeatedly exploring back and forth, clearing out nearby enemies but still unable to find a path inside.

Finally, he was forced to turn his gaze to the rooftops beyond the terrace.

Scaling walls was a non-standard shortcut also seen in the Sain Dungeon and showcased in the Deep Church.

As soon as he stepped onto the exposed rooftop, his attention was drawn to the sky—a blood-red sky, mixed with smoke, blood mist, and various unnamed impurities, merging into a dried blood-like color.

The entire sky seemed to narrate the slaughter occurring within the city, compelling an oppressive feeling upon viewing.

"What is that?"

Leon’s gaze grew intrigued as he spotted something novel above the blood-colored sky.

Large... butterflies? Flying in the sky?

The distance was too far to discern the butterflies’ details, but even from afar, it was evident they weren’t real butterflies, but some bizarre yet similarly shaped creatures.

Seeing those butterflies, he immediately felt a sinister aura.

Who else but the Sain Dungeon would catalogue such disgusting creatures?

"I hope I won’t have to battle them... No, I shouldn’t say that."

He had a subtle feeling that he had just raised a flag.

Continuing upward along the rooftop, Leon was confident he had found the correct path, as more enemies appeared along the way, notably the long-awaited Living Dead Soldiers.

These beings constructed wooden barricades along the path to fend off intruders, but it was ineffective, as Leon easily broke through their blockade, finally stepping onto solid ground and escaping the rooftop.

All he saw along the route were various war-torn corpses; surely a fierce battle took place here.

Before he had a chance to marvel at Losric City’s eerie construct, a more magnificent castle appeared before his eyes.

Under the bloody sky, a castle sharp as a sword tip stood there, exuding an intimidating aura.

Just a glance told Leon this must be the main castle, where significant figures like Prince Losric were likely hiding.

If asked why he concluded this, naturally because...

"Roar!"

"Screech!"

Two giant dragons, one white and one yellow, hovered before the castle gate, their menacing yet vacant eyes firmly watching all invaders, with the ground before them scorched by dragon breath.

"If they’re lavish enough to guard the gate with two giant dragons, who can say the Ember King isn’t hidden inside?"
