Jian Yu’s gaze went unfocused, and tears instantly filled her eyes.

The constant sound of the flowing spring water couldn’t drown out her cries.

Si Xu’s seduction was nothing like Ling Yanzhi’s awkward innocence. He was experienced, leaving her powerless to resist.

The man’s libertine whispers filled her ears, making Jian Yu flush with shame.

"Please... stop."

She sobbed incoherently, her voice trembling, tear tracks crisscrossing her face.

Alluring, yet with a pure sort of sensuality. Even in such a seductive pose, she looked innocent. This mixture of qualities was the most lethal of all.

A thin sheen of sweat covered Si Xu’s forehead.

He listened with relish to Jian Yu’s ceaseless, saccharine whimpers.

The jealousy he had harbored for so long was finally being sated.

...

[After the competition today, Ayue came over. He seems to suspect you, Master.]

Ah Qi flew in, tilting its head to look at the person curled up on the bed.

[They know she’s missing. They even went to Yan Yu, thinking he was the one who did it.]

Si Xu placed a sated kiss on the corner of Jian Yu’s lips and walked barefoot out of the golden feather cage.

He was bare-chested. Across his fair skin were several red marks, partially obscured by his messy blond hair.

"Is everything cleaned up?"

Ah Qi tilted its head.

[Don’t worry, Master. No one will find out.]

Si Xu’s long, straight lashes, each one distinct, trembled as he lowered his gaze.

He looked up, his tone distant. "Ayue will be able to find her."

Sensing its master’s thoughts, Ah Qi added, [At least for now, she belongs only to you, Master.]

Si Xu’s expression was impassive, but his eyes were heavy, as if weighed down by an immense burden.

He looked toward Jian Yu, a forcibly suppressed exhaustion churning in his eyes. "She can’t take it."

[The Clan Leader’s drug won’t wear off for seven days. She’s not as fragile as you imagine, Master.]

Jian Yu’s breathing was erratic; she was not sleeping peacefully.

[Master, the drug is still active. Baby needs you.]

Ah Qi spiraled into Si Xu’s body, its ethereal voice carrying a decadent, bewitching allure.

Si Xu sat on the edge of the bed and brushed aside Jian Yu’s slightly damp hair with his fingers.

He leaned in close, his scorching kiss landing on her beautiful collarbone.

A cool sensation on her neck startled Jian Yu awake.

She opened her eyes to see Si Xu’s broad form looming over her.

Her entire body felt limp, devoid of strength.

Jian Yu tried to move her hands, only to find her wrists shackled to the side of the cage at the head of the bed.

Her eyes widened as her gaze swept over the exquisite feathered cage.

’A cage?’

CLICK. CLINK.

A lingering kiss sent a shiver through her, and the rims of her eyes reddened against her will.

She struggled to pull away. "Enough..."

Si Xu chuckled, holding her in place. "So, you still have some strength left."

He caressed Jian Yu’s face, his fingers trailing down, wandering over her skin.

"Shhh. Every time you speak, it only makes me want to torment you until you look even more pitiful."

Jian Yu was speechless.

Seeing his amused expression, she fell silent.

"Good girl." Si Xu was bathed in a warm halo of light.

He watched Jian Yu’s reaction.

It was slow, sluggish.

"God brought you to my side but didn’t help me keep you. More and more people are fighting for you, and it makes me furious."

"That day in the auditorium, you were watching me. Your eyes told me you were willing."

"I want to see the thousand charming faces you’d make in my arms. A you like that... must be so beautiful."

"We have plenty of time. There’s no rush. I can take my time exploring."

Jian Yu turned onto her side, curled her legs, and buried her face in the pillow.

Her voice trembled, seemingly laced with a hint of suppressed sarcasm.

"Do they know? The Chief they hold in their hearts—the one who is pure, flawless, noble, worthy of respect and admiration—is actually... Mmph—"

Si Xu reached out with his free hand and gently turned Jian Yu’s head toward him.

He captured her lips, silencing the broken sounds that were about to escape.

The corners of his eyes flushed red as he kissed her roughly, with a savage force.

"They don’t know. But you do."

Si Xu’s hot breath ghosted across Jian Yu’s neck.

"Only you know, Baby."

His voice was teasing, and crystalline tears streamed from the corners of his eyes. He looked even more aroused than Jian Yu.

"We haven’t even started, and you’re already trembling so pitifully. Whatever shall I do with you?"

Jian Yu froze, tears welling in her eyes, refusing to fall.

’Wait, what? You haven’t even started?’

’I feel like I’m already done for...’

’If Ling Yanzhi doesn’t show up soon, this "hero saving the damsel" plot is going to turn into me having to escape on my own, broken but resolute.’

...

Fainting and waking, then fainting and waking again—six days passed like this.

On the seventh day, Jian Yu was alone in the room.

Her wrists were still bound, making it impossible to sit up.

Jian Yu moved her legs and felt no pain.

The red velvet blanket beneath her seemed to be a reflection of those many secret encounters.

She forced herself to focus, sizing up the golden cage that imprisoned her.

The cage was suspended in the air, ten meters above the floor.

Obviously, Si Xu knew she was afraid of heights. After all, he’d managed to get his hands on so many of her private photos.

’Hss... He’s afraid I’ll escape, but he’s not afraid I’ll fall to my death?’

Jian Yu stared at her wrist. Her Star Brain was gone.

Not just the Star Brain, but the tracker Xi Yu and the others had installed for her was gone, too. There was nothing on her person; she was wiped cleaner than her own face.

’Well now, looks like this is a genuine kidnapping.’

Resigned to her fate, Jian Yu closed her eyes.

Her expression froze. She opened her eyes and stared at the black mist that was uncontrollably seeping out of her, floating faintly in the air.

’He really went too far. I almost forgot about this.’

Jian Yu twirled her fingers, using the method Shi Zhao had taught her. She spread a large cloud of pink mist, then switched to black mist and drew it back into her body.

She certainly didn’t feel the exhaustion of having her power depleted like before, but she didn’t feel the satisfaction of being full of energy either.

’Shi Zhao is on Weis Lan, but without a Star Brain, it’s hard to contact him.’

’It’s been almost seven days. Why hasn’t Ling Yanzhi found me yet?’

Jian Yu rested her chin on her hand, pondering. ’Should I run, or not?’

An image of Ling Yanzhi’s dark, sullen face appeared in her mind. Annoyed, she shifted her position slightly.

’It seems I can’t treat everyone equally anymore.’

Jian Yu twisted her wrist. A wisp of Purple Smoke drifted out, and she easily slipped free of the specially-made shackles.

Sensing Si Xu’s approach, Jian Yu casually locked herself back into the shackles.

’Uh, just instinct.’

Memories from before she had passed out surged through her mind, and an unnatural blush crept up her cheeks.

She watched the doorway.

Si Xu paused as he entered.

The corners of his lips curved into a smile, but a shadow of gloom clung to his brow.

"We can leave here today. Are you happy?"

Jian Yu thought he meant someone had found them.

She was still wondering if it was Ayue, or Ling Yanzhi and Pei Yin.

The next second, Si Xu was inside the cage, interrupting her wild thoughts.

He snapped one of the cage bars with his bare hands, and the divine aura surrounding him gradually dimmed.

His aura changed drastically, completely unleashing the desire that had been shrouded by layers of divinity.

"Leave the Imperial Capital Star with me. We’ll go to a place that belongs only to the two of us."
