Jian Yu’s pupils were dilated, a hazy mist clouding her half-open eyes.

Her skin started to flush a faint pink, and she parted her lips, her breathing ragged.

"Can’t it just be me?"

Si Xu leaned down and gently kissed Jian Yu’s crimson lips.

He licked her fiercely, occasionally nipping at her with his teeth.

At first, his thoughts had been: ’I’ll make you cry and beg me. Beg me to let you go, beg me not to leave you.’

But now, with red-rimmed eyes, Si Xu was trying to force the words from her.

"Break up with them. Say you won’t leave me. Say you only want me. Just say the words... and I’ll do anything you ask."

Si Xu’s shoulders and legs tensed, the light emanating from him pulsating restlessly.

He let himself lose control, greedily wanting more.

"They’ll find us soon."

"How irritating."

"You’re willing to stay behind, so why won’t you come away with me?"

His breath brushed against her earlobe. Jian Yu, lost in a daze, returned his kiss.

She thought for a long time before answering, "Maybe it’s because I’m a bit of a player."

’She couldn’t turn any of them down.’

’She was picky about their looks, their height, their status... even the degree of their obsession. If she left the F7, who else would spoil her like they did?’

’Could someone please tell her... what was she supposed to do?’

’This was pretty difficult for her, too.’

Jian Yu’s tone was deadpan, which, combined with her flushed cheeks, gave her a sort of aloof cuteness.

"What time is it?"

Si Xu stared into her dazed, glistening eyes. The light hovering around him abruptly vanished.

’They were halfway through their ’discussion,’ and she not only changed the subject, but she was also zoning out and talking back to him!’

He pressed his hand against the side of her waist. His brow furrowed, his expression twisting with frenzied desire.

"Choking you... how is it that my baby is so excited she’s crying tears of pleasure...?"

"You have feelings for me. The Feather Clan does not tolerate betrayal. You’ve defiled me, toyed with me, so you must take responsibility."

"Ayue... If Ayue finds us, do you think he’ll see us like this?"

"That’s right. We’re not leaving. We’re staying right here."

"I’m so looking forward to it."

"Getting caught would be good, too."

"That way... the pleasure would be even greater."

...

Xi Yu was still sulking in a corner.

Yang Zhang stood motionless beside him.

The little apple in the corner was about to grow mold.

Pei Yin walked past, fighting the urge to send him flying with a kick.

His brow was furrowed. "It’s been less than half a day, and her trail has gone completely cold. I’ve torn the school apart again, but there’s not a single sign of her."

’All these security cameras, are they just for show?’

Ling Yanzhi’s eyelids lifted.

He glanced at the people who had entered with Pei Yin, and his eyes shifted.

’Why would Ji Shiyin and Sheng Yue arrive together?’

’If it had been Duan Feiye, he might not have been so surprised. After all, Duan Feiye had been upfront about pursuing Jian Yu and had been helping with the search for days.’

’Ji Shiyin... but that wasn’t important now.’

The words reached his lips, but Ling Yanzhi swallowed them back down.

He couldn’t muster any energy and looked far more listless than before.

Given Jian Yu’s abilities, he didn’t think anyone could actually hold her captive.

’Unless...’ Ling Yanzhi suppressed the vexing suspicion in his mind.

He had done a thorough background check on Jian Yu the very first day they met and had found a ton of novels on her reader app.

A quick glance had shown covers with multiple anime-style men, and at the time, he’d just assumed she liked reverse harem novels.

Thinking back, while he’d figured a male author wouldn’t come up with a title like ’Seven Tycoons’ Forced Love,’ he hadn’t given it much more thought.

The day Xi Yu had barged in so aggressively, Ling Yanzhi had noticed that Jian Yu didn’t seem to mind.

He’d subconsciously made the connection to those female protagonists on the covers, sandwiched between men on all sides.

He took a closer look at those novels after the dean was kidnapped.

Frowning, dawning realization, then acceptance.

How to drink water, letting it slide slowly down his throat. How to emerge from a shower with his robe open. How to position his long legs. And how to use his fingers to be seductive.

Ling Yanzhi had put what he learned from the novels into practice, attempting to seduce her several times, and had benefited greatly from it.

What annoyed him, however, was that the novels Jian Yu loved always featured a stoic, abstinent-type male lead—practically a carbon copy of Sheng Yue.

"Tsk." Ling Yanzhi clicked his tongue, shattering the heavy silence.

’He’d much rather she was just messing around than actually in trouble.’

Ji Shizhao gently stroked the Little Flying Bear’s head. "Why is no one talking?"

Pei Yin shot back, "Shouldn’t you be the one talking? You’re the one who said you had a way to find Jian Yu."

Xi Yu raised his head.

His hazel eyes slowly settled on Ji Shiyin. "What is it?"

Sheng Yue’s expressionless gaze swept across the room. "Have any of you checked Sector 1?"

’He suspected it was Si Xu.’

"Si Xu didn’t report to the academy when he returned. And a few days ago, his Soul Beast left a Golden Feather behind in the auditorium."

When no one responded, Pei Yin spoke up. "I already checked on him. I didn’t find anything suspicious."

He asked, confused, "Did any of us report to the academy when we got back?"

Sheng Yue: "..."

Ling Yanzhi narrowed his eyes. "Just because you didn’t find a problem, doesn’t mean there isn’t one."

He couldn’t help but think of that pervert with the love letters.

’If it’s really someone from the Feather Clan, there’s no way Si Xu would have failed to hand them over by now.’

’Unless he was unwilling, unable, or simply had no way to do so.’

Pei Yin threw a wet blanket on the idea. "If it really is Si Xu, he and Jian Yu could be off the Imperial Capital Star the moment you get there."

Xi Yu shot to his feet. "I’ll go find him."

Ling Yanzhi got up to follow.

Ji Shiyin stopped them. "You can’t just go like this. Si Xu’s Attack Power might not match yours, but do you really think you can beat him in speed?"

Holding the Little Flying Bear, he looked at Xi Yu and smiled slightly. "Remember that Positioning Bead I gave you? It’s a very useful item."

"It’s the eyeball of a rare Alien Beast. I gave one to you, and the other one was auctioned off for an astronomical price."

Xi Yu had forgotten where he’d tossed it. "I’ll go back and look for it."

「Xi Family Estate.」

Xi Yu returned to the family’s treasure pavilion and began rummaging frantically for the item.

He caught sight of a dark shadow in his peripheral vision.

It was his father, Xi Mu, squatting in a corner and staring into space.

Xi Yu averted his gaze and continued his search.

His father was lost in thought, and at times like these, he didn’t like to be disturbed.

"What are you looking for?" Xi Mu asked quietly, his eyes drifting upward.

Xi Yu used Instant Teleportation and appeared in front of him.

The father and son squatted face to face.

"Father, I need the Positioning Bead."

Xi Mu had an excellent memory. He gestured with a finger. "Number 19783."

"Thank you, Father." Xi Yu took the bead.

He turned back. "Father, what’s wrong?"

Xi Mu’s voice was cool. "I want to buy your mother a necklace. It costs fifty million Star Coins."

He stared intently at Xi Yu. "I had three hundred million and forty-five hundred Star Coins in my account. Why did you transfer three hundred million of it without a word?"

Xi Yu paused. "For Baby."

Xi Mu shot to his feet. "I haven’t seen you for two months, and you already have a baby?!"

Xi Yu explained, "My dearest."

Xi Mu frowned. "Don’t you copy me and call your mother ’my dearest.’ That name is mine to use."

He then realized. "Oh, oh, in that case, it’s fine. Three hundred million isn’t that much. It’s not even a fraction of what I spent pursuing your mother."

Having gotten his answer, Xi Mu sauntered off.

"The weather’s nice today. I’m going to wheel your mother outside to get some sun."

Xi Yu pressed his lips together, watching his father walk away.

Passing the front yard garden, he watched Xi Mu bend down, lowering his head to kiss his mother’s ankle.

Her atrophied calf was not a pretty sight, yet it was densely covered in kiss marks.

Though he was far away, the voice carried clearly.

"It’s not ugly. My dearest is beautiful."

Xi Yu let go of the flowering branch he’d been holding and turned to leave.
