Yin Jiu lay listlessly on Sheng Yue’s lap.

It pawed twice with its claws. ’Master, I’m disappointed in you. I was all ready and about to jump in.’

Sheng Yue’s fingers didn’t pause as his gaze scrutinized the announcement he was editing.

The blue light from the Star Brain floated across his face. In the instant his eyelashes fluttered, his gaze returned to its usual cold indifference.

"I have official business to attend to."

Yin Jiu’s ears perked up, and it glanced upward.

’How can these people spout such nonsense!’

It leaped onto Sheng Yue’s shoulder, shook its fur, and bared its teeth.

...

Stepping out of Zone 2, the temperature immediately rose.

Shen Gu felt the muggy heat and took off his scarf. "The surveillance was blocked, and the research building is right next to the lab... But even if we can’t find any evidence, there’s no need to rush."

"There is evidence." Jian Yu was glad she had turned on her camera and recorded a video.

She had originally just wanted to make Yan Yu expose Yan Qin, but she never expected it would now become her alibi.

"Evidence?" Shen Gu was stunned.

"Mhm." Jian Yu glanced around and walked into a random empty classroom.

’I’m a little tired. I want to sit down.’

Shen Gu didn’t let anyone else follow them in.

He sat down next to Jian Yu. "What do you need me to do?"

"We need to issue a clarification first." Jian Yu, treating it like a celebrity scandal, wore a serious expression on her small face. "If you don’t clarify as soon as the rumors start, no one will pay attention if you do it later."

She looked down, fiddling with her Star Brain. "Clearing my name should be relatively easy. It’s recovering the research data that might be a bit more trouble."

Shen Gu stared at Jian Yu’s red nose. ’As I thought, she still got too cold.’

He comforted her, "The lost research data has nothing to do with you. They’ll handle it."

Jian Yu nodded. "Important data is definitely backed up."

She logged into her account and began editing a post to clarify the situation.

Halfway through editing, she suddenly heard Shen Gu say, "Looks like you don’t have to. Yu, it’s been resolved!"

Shen Gu was looking at his own Star Brain.

"Chief Ling posted a video that proves you were on the first floor of the lab the whole time and never went to the research building."

"Chief Xi Yu and Chief Si Xu also found those people you were rumored to be involved with and had them come forward to clear your name."

"Yan Yu was trying to pressure our academy about what happened to his Soul Beast. Chief Pei Yin published the analysis of the residual medicine from the lab and is now putting counter-pressure on Yan Yu’s school."

"And Chairman Sheng."

Shen Gu pushed his Star Brain Floating Screen toward Jian Yu.

Displayed on it was the official account of the Board of Directors.

Weis Lan Noble Academy Announcement

To all students and faculty:

Regarding the information about "Jian’s improper relationships with multiple men," after investigation, it has been verified that this content is pure slander and libel, and is a severe misrepresentation of the facts.

Furthermore, the theft of the research data is unrelated to Jian. Her alibi will be released subsequently. Sheng Yue can testify on her behalf.

Just as Jian Yu finished reading the sentence about Sheng Yue acting as a witness, the screen vanished.

She blinked and looked toward Shen Gu.

But Shen Gu shot to his feet. "Chief."

He cleared his throat. "I’ll head out first."

Jian Yu turned her head.

She slowly narrowed her eyes, trying to identify the figure who had just used Instant Teleportation to appear, backlit by the sun.

"What are you doing here?"

"They’ve been caught." Ling Yanzhi’s eyes narrowed slightly.

He raised an eyebrow at Jian Yu and extended a hand, his posture casual. "Want to go watch the show?"

Jian Yu didn’t really want to go.

She could guess who it was.

Knowing the outcome, she was more interested in going back to train than in holding someone accountable or watching the drama.

This last fight had exposed many of her weaknesses.

She couldn’t use Instant Teleportation, couldn’t fly, and fighting drained her Energy Bar quickly.

She could feel that after attacking the Golden Wolf, her Water Jelly Soul Beast’s physical form was gradually dissipating, making it difficult to maintain.

She wanted to ask Shi Zhao, but he had suddenly become unreachable.

Jian Yu pressed her lips together, her fingertips rubbing the hem of her skirt.

Her lowered eyes were placid and calm, making it impossible to tell what she was thinking.

Ling Yanzhi raised a hand and ruffled Jian Yu’s hair.

The end of his words lifted, lazy and tinged with a languid magnetism. "If you don’t want to go, then don’t. Why hold it in and stay quiet?"

His eyes flickered up, a hint of surprise in his expression. "Your roommate caught the person. They’ve had plastic surgery and look about sixty percent like you. Pei Yin said you might be interested, so I came to pick you up."

Jian Yu looked up, her gaze vacant. "Xu Jianjuan?"

’Plastic surgery? I thought they caught Yan Qin.’

Jian Yu’s expression froze. Her gaze fixed, her confused face tinged with coldness. "Then let’s go take a look?"

Ling Yanzhi let out a soft laugh, leaned down, and held her tightly.

He bent over, wrapping his arms around her legs.

Jian Yu stopped him, grabbing one of his arms. "Teach me."

Ling Yanzhi tilted his head to the side, his gaze sweeping over her lazily. "Teach you what?"

Jian Yu’s brow didn’t move, but her eyes darted about cleverly.

"Instant Teleportation. Flying."

Her expression was faint, her voice even fainter, but her words were serious and laced with determination. "I don’t want to get beaten up next time."

’Soul Beast versus Soul Beast is fine, but if Yan Yu had gone for me from the start, it would have been a huge problem.’

The naturally upturned corners of Ling Yanzhi’s eyes drooped slightly. "Fine."

He knew what had happened.

He had repaired the surveillance equipment right after the incident.

And when Jian Yu played the surveillance video, he had hacked her Star Brain and copied it for the clarification.

’I thought about going to settle scores with Yan Yu, but all I found was a pathetic wreck.’

Jian Yu glanced at the man, who was radiating a dark aura. "I think I’m starting to get the hang of it. Just hold on to me for a bit."

"I won’t let you fall." Ling Yanzhi wrapped an arm around her waist and slowly made a "start" gesture.

He called out the destination, "Zone 6."

Jian Yu held onto his arm, calmed her mind, and locked her focus on the apricot tree outside the classroom.

Ten seconds passed.

They didn’t move an inch.

The corner of Ling Yanzhi’s mouth quirked up, his tone devoid of any impatience. "May we begin?"

Jian Yu: "..."

She scratched her cheek awkwardly and looked at him expectantly. "How about... you say a few more words?"

Ling Yanzhi lifted his gaze. "If you want to learn Instant Teleportation, you have to understand your Soul Beast. When Si Xu and Pei Yin cover vast distances in a single step, it’s not that they themselves can instantly travel that far. It’s that their Soul Beasts’ avatars can fly for miles and bring them along at any moment."

His tone was roguishly lazy. "Watch that tree carefully. I’ll go slower this time."

Jian Yu’s eyes widened as she focused with all her might.

First, the Red Snake flew and slithered out of the classroom, deftly climbing the apricot tree.

Only then did an afterimage of Ling Yanzhi flit out after it.

The Red Snake slithered back to Jian Yu’s side, and Ling Yanzhi returned to the classroom a moment later.

Jian Yu understood.

She grabbed Ling Yanzhi’s hand.

A green mist drifted out, blowing against the wind to the base of the apricot tree.

Their figures shot out the door.

"THUD."

A dull impact sound.

Unable to brake in time, Jian Yu clutched her forehead and looked up.

Before she could apologize, Ling Yanzhi pointed to a building up ahead. "Again."

Jian Yu caught sight of Shen Gu raising a fist in encouragement out of the corner of her eye and silently let out a breath.

"Again. The Incubation Building."

"Zone 5."

"The auditorium."

...

Going from clumsy to skilled only took one trip from the outskirts of Zone 2 to Zone 6.

For the last few jumps, she had completely let go of Ling Yanzhi’s hand.

Jian Yu turned back, her voice drawing out slowly, "Hurry up and come over."

Ling Yanzhi leaned forward, a hint of casual coolness in the corner of his eyes as he looked up. "Impressive. You almost left me behind."
