A white shirt, a hip-hugging skirt, high heels.

Cheng Jun stood by the window, as if she had been waiting for Yang Hui's arrival.

The buttons of her shirt were fastened primly to two fingers below her collarbone, yet the tailored waist exposed the curve of her slender waist—a hidden current stirred by the office air conditioning. Every crease in the fabric clinging to her skin felt like a silent provocation.

The sharp cut of the pencil skirt was like a blade, tracing a breathtaking arc from her waistline to the swell of her hips. A three-finger-wide slit at the side offered a glimpse of a leg sheathed in black silk as her steps crossed. The moment she sat, the fabric pulling taut, the very air seemed to solidify into an amber of desire.

"Have some Golden Milk White." It was a type of white tea.

As she leaned over to put down the water cup, the strain on the second button of her shirt made Yang Hui's Adam's apple bob. 'Maybe I've just been pent up for too long,' he thought, 'but seeing Cheng Jun makes me feel like I'm about to erupt.'

"This is good tea."

She shot him a look. "Are you making fun of me? What good tea would I have here?"

He took a sip with a perfectly straight face. "It's mostly the name. It made me thirsty the moment I heard it."

Cheng Jun caught on instantly. Giggling, she came to his side. "So it wasn't tea you wanted after all. You wanted milk."

Sunlight filtering through the blinds pinned their overlapping shadows to the wall. An elbow creased the scattered documents on the desk. The muffled thud of a pen rolling onto the carpet became the only timekeeper in the sealed space.

The small of Cheng Jun's back pressed against the cold metal edge of the desk, and in the moment she felt a sting of discomfort, Yang Hui's knee had already pushed into the space between her legs and the desk front. Cold air from the central AC seeped through the gap at her second button but couldn't quell the heat of his fingers tracing the skin beneath her collar.

His palm traveled from her outer thigh toward her hip with the unhurried confidence of someone reviewing a classified file. The rustle of lace underwear mingled with ragged breaths. As his fingertips sank into soft flesh, Cheng Jun heard the faint snap of her ID lanyard—the navy blue satin ribbon now hung between the tips of their shoes.

BEEP BEEP~

She swatted his wrist away with a project schedule, but the pages scattered like snowflakes the moment he bit her earlobe.

"Someone's coming."

Yang Hui finally returned to his seat. As Cheng Jun straightened her rumpled blouse and skirt, she asked, "Who is it?"

"Manager, President An from Weitong Commerce is here."

'An Ping?' Yang Hui wasn't surprised he had come to see Cheng Jun. Weitong Commerce had several stores in partnership with Xinyue Square. If he was in the region on business, given the scale of Weitong Commerce's operations, he wouldn't get a meeting with the regional VP, let alone President Tian. That meant his only option was to visit Cheng Jun.

"Have him wait in the meeting room. I'll head over once I'm finished here."

Seeing she had mostly composed herself, he stood up. "I'm heading down now. We can have a more... in-depth discussion when you have a day off in a couple of days."

"Wait," she said, pulling out a wet wipe to clean his neck. It was covered in lipstick marks.

"Still thinking about being 'in-depth'? Just how 'in-depth' are we talking?" she asked, straightening his shirt.

Yang Hui gave her a swat on the rear. "You've taken my measure before, so you should know what I'm capable of. I'm off. I'll call you in a few days."

As he walked past the meeting room, he glanced inside. An Ping wasn't looking in his direction, so he didn't see him. Yang Hui didn't resent An Ping for interrupting his fun. 'We could only have gone so far in the office anyway,' he mused. 'If someone had walked in, there would have been no time to clean up the battlefield.'

He didn't go looking for President Tian. He'd just asked Cheng Jun and learned that President Tian was at the corporate headquarters for a meeting. Instead, he headed straight for the shopping plaza. It was home to his first store, a place of great significance to him, and he couldn't help but want to take another long look.

From a distance, he could see the shop was bustling with a steady stream of customers. It looked like they were so busy they were almost short-handed, but fortunately, the backup sales staff from Zen were there to help cover the floor.

Yang Hui had given Yang Na strict instructions: sales staff were not to work overtime if at all possible, ensuring they were well-rested. In the rare case that overtime was unavoidable, they were to be given compensatory time off.

As for why he didn't offer overtime pay, Yang Hui's reasoning was simple. He believed that if overtime pay was on the table, some employees would inevitably push themselves to work extra hours for the money, neglecting their health and rest. Therefore, all overtime was compensated with time off in lieu. It wasn't that he was stingy; he just didn't want his staff to trade their health for cash.

A man and a woman walked past Yang Hui.

"Oh, the NLB here is open! The storefront looks way more impressive than the one at Wanlong Square. Let's go check it out."

The guy hated shopping, but he didn't seem to dare refuse his girlfriend's suggestion, trailing reluctantly into the store. Since they were right beside him, Yang Hui noticed the man's complexion looked a little off and assumed he was just unhappy about being there.

"Welcome to NLB. My name is Xiaoxin, and I'll be your fashion consultant today. It's a pleasure to assist you."

Xiaoxin was about 1.7 meters tall, looking chic and lovely in her uniform. The woman noticed that practically all the sales associates were gorgeous. 'How do they pick the staff here?' she wondered. 'The standard seems even higher than in luxury boutiques.'

Suddenly, the man swayed on his feet. His girlfriend said coldly, "What is it now? You feel sick the second you have to go shopping with me."

"I'm... I'm fine," he said, fighting a wave of dizziness as a cold sweat broke out over his body.

Xiaoxin perceptively noticed the situation and asked, "Sir, you don't look well. Do you have a history of low blood sugar?"

Hearing this, the woman quickly turned to her boyfriend. When he nodded, she realized she had misjudged him. Just then, Xiaoxin, the fashion consultant, continued, "You're welcome to rest in our VIP lounge. We have complimentary desserts and pastries available."

Just then, another group of customers entered. The couple looked a little embarrassed. The woman said, "Miss, you should go help the other customers. We don't want to keep you from your sales."

She knew the sales staff earned bonuses based on commission. With so many customers in the store, now was the prime time for them to be making sales and hitting their targets. Taking her and her boyfriend to a lounge was clearly taking the associate away from her work.

Xiaoxin gave a sweet smile. "It's no problem. My colleagues will be happy to help them."

With that, she led the couple to the VIP rest area. While it was technically a members-only section, the staff wasn't rigid about the rules. The company's service philosophy was to treat every guest like family.

Xiaoxin brought the man a glass of warm brown sugar water and two gourmet desserts. After asking what the woman would like, she had the barista prepare a freshly ground cup of Blue Mountain coffee.

After making sure they were comfortable, Xiaoxin told them to rest and call her if they needed anything before heading out to assist other customers.

After eating a bit of the dessert, the man started to feel better. "You have to try this," he said to his girlfriend. "This pastry is even better than the stuff at Faitong's."

The woman cut off a small piece and put it in her mouth. "Mmm, it really is delicious. How did I never know NLB offered this kind of service?"
