Wilderness: I Tame Beasts to Survive

Chapter 419 - 285: Racing Against Time

Chapter 419: Chapter 285: Racing Against Time

Qing Dou clearly had a special method for learning what was happening with the Five Ancestor Families right away.

This was extremely important for the human and Dragon Blood side.

After a few seconds of silence, before Han Ning could ask another question, another wave of Spiritual Fluctuations came from Aketu:

"The Qing Dou Leader requests that you go there yourself. He’s currently in the Grudge Abyss, near Celestial Abyss Canyon. We’ve run into a bit of trouble."

"He wants me to go?"

Han Ning’s brow furrowed subconsciously upon hearing the news.

The situation reminded him of what had happened with Cang Shi. The Subordinate Insects weren’t one hundred percent trustworthy, and under the current circumstances, he had to be cautious.

He composed himself and asked, "What kind of trouble?"

"Because we’re moving so many Soul Beasts, it’s hard to completely conceal our presence. We encountered an Abyssal Race. The Qing Dou Leader is currently negotiating with them, leading several of the Dragon Blood Race’s esteemed members, but... it’s not going well."

In the middle of their exchange, the Jade Aurora Dragon standing at the entrance to the rift suddenly looked to the west. Its eyes blazed with a dazzling aurora as it let out a sharp, high-pitched draconic roar, beat its wings, and transformed into a brilliant stream of Flowing Light, plunging into the inky Darkness.

Fortunately, most of the Soul Beasts had already entered Night Nether City. The small number that remained were taken over by Qingyao, who was stationed there. He forcibly kept the rift open, allowing the rest of the forces to enter.

’Looks like something really has gone wrong.’

Qing Dou recalling the Jade Aurora Dragon meant the situation on the other side was dire.

"Alright... Elder Qingyao, could you please come here for a moment?"

To ensure his own safety, Han Ning summoned Yin Yi and had it plant a Teleportation Seed near Night Nether City. He then called over the stationed Qingyao and ordered several of the Dragon Blood Race’s Middle Lord Soul Beasts to temporarily take charge of guarding Night Nether City.

"RAAWR~ (What happened? Why did Lord Qing Dou suddenly leave?)"

Once all the Soul Beasts were through the rift, Qing Fan and Qingyao flew over at almost the same time.

Qing Fan was just about to speak when Han Ning cut him off. "Your father has run into some trouble. Qing Fan, you stay here in Night Nether City for now. Elder Qingyao and I will go."

"I want to go too." Qing Fan’s expression turned grim upon learning his father was in trouble.

"You’re not strong enough yet. Just stay here obediently." Han Ning glanced at the Flying Dragon beneath Qing Fan, then vaulted onto the back of a shrunken Egg Pancake and took to the sky.

"I..." Qing Fan opened his mouth, but looking at the three Lord Soul Beasts lined up beside Han Ning, each radiating a terrifying aura, he found he had no retort.

"There aren’t many on this continent who can stop your father. I believe he’s just run into a small problem that will be resolved quickly. Stay here and wait for our news. If something really does go wrong, the Dragon Blood Race will need someone to take command."

Han Ning smiled at the young Dragon Blood before him. Then, without another word, he commanded Egg Pancake and his other Soul Beasts to shoot off toward Celestial Abyss Canyon.

Thanks to the Hexagon Race map from Ah Yu, Han Ning had a basic understanding of the layout inside the Grudge Abyss.

Celestial Abyss Canyon was located about 3,500 kilometers west of Night Nether City. It was a long, narrow gap between two rock formations and the only viable path from the surface to Night Nether City. The surrounding areas were inhabited by powerful Abyssal Races, making the canyon, with its relatively sparse population of creatures, the only choice.

That was why... the Dragon Blood Race had chosen it as their migration route.

With Yin Yi’s current strength as an Upper Lord, it could already use its seed for Instant Movement from Celestial Abyss Canyon to Night Nether City.

This method consumed a massive amount of Spiritual Energy and could only be used as an escape route. In a battle, using it just a few times would completely drain one’s Spiritual Energy.

Now that both Yin Yi and Egg Pancake had reached the later stages of the Lord rank, their flight speed was in a different league entirely.

In the pitch-black Abyss, a brilliant streak of fire cut across the sky, followed by a powerful sonic boom.

The 3,500 kilometers passed in a flash.

In the distance, a rift radiating a brilliant aurora came into view.

Even before they got close, from over a hundred kilometers away, a sky-shattering draconic roar and violent fluctuations of Spiritual Energy filled the air with an aura of death.

The glorious aurora illuminated the terrain for hundreds of kilometers around, revealing every detail.

The scorching heat from the aurora vaporized all the weaker creatures in the vicinity.

With just a casual glance, Han Ning saw countless dark creatures below being disintegrated by the aurora, turning into black smoke that drifted upward in wisps.

Even Egg Pancake, enveloped in blood-red flames, began to emit a sizzling sound, like cold water being poured onto hot iron.

The aurora, powerful enough to disintegrate biological structures, was rapidly corroding its outer Spiritual Shield.

Fortunately, Qingyao, who was hovering nearby, shuddered. A verdant green light, rich with the aura of Life, surrounded them, blocking the terrifying aurora.

But in this land of stark white light, like a domain of perpetual day, there was one area that remained shrouded in a fog as thick as ink.

The light from the outside could not penetrate it.

Under Qingyao’s protection, Han Ning and his Soul Beasts flew another 50 kilometers forward.

A Giant Dragon, formed entirely of condensed emerald light, loomed over the canyon. Its majestic eyes were fixed on the ring of black smoke below. An endless, blindingly brilliant stream of light, like a waterfall, poured down upon the smoke in a frantic attempt to destroy it.

Large flakes of light and wisps of black smoke shot outward, evaporating into the void.

Although the confrontation looked intense, the slowly rotating smoke screen remained as unmoving as a reef in the ocean.
