Wilderness: I Tame Beasts to Survive

Chapter 436 - 293: Set Sail (Part 2)

Chapter 436: Chapter 293: Set Sail (Part 2)

Leon continued, his finger moving down to the second route.

"If we can’t pass through the Broken Stone Mountain Range, we can go west of Night Nether City, bypassing the Broken Rock Mountain Range. This will increase the journey by about thirty percent, and we might pass through some of your Cyan God Armor Family’s territory. We could potentially trigger some of the boundary devices set up by Insect Master Families."

Next, he pointed to the third route.

"If neither of the previous two routes works, we’ll have to take the southern route. That’s where two Ancestor Families, the Sky-Splitting Instant Butterfly and the River Basin Shattered Gold Mantis, reside. We would also have to pass through the cyclonic Sky Domain, a place of surging storms where the Sky-Splitting Instant Butterflies are born. It’s the most dangerous, the longest, and overall, the worst route."

In short, to get to Xiliu Lake, they had to pass through the territory of an Ancestor Family. It was completely impossible to cross half the continent while avoiding them all.

Hearing Leon’s description, the Second Elder fell into a brief moment of thought.

The others remained silent, quietly awaiting his response.

After a few minutes, the Second Elder extended a sharp, lizard-like claw and pointed to a route no one had expected—the third one.

Seeing everyone’s confused expressions, the Second Elder explained:

"We can only go south. The north and west have already been blockaded by four Ancestor Families. The south, however, has only the Sky-Splitting Instant Butterfly Ancestor—who is relatively weak in combat among the Five Great Ancestors—and a joint team of two Priests."

"The route I took to get here was from the north... I’m afraid it’s already swarming with Insect Masters from the Cyan God Armor and Netherworld Purple Bee families. The Netherworld Purple Bees are masters of perception, so the northern route is the most dangerous."

"To the west... are the Abyssal Rock Ant and River Basin Shattered Gold Mantis families. The former’s knowledge of the Grudge Abyss’s terrain is unparalleled among the Five Great Ancestors, while the latter are combat experts and very tough opponents."

As he spoke, the Second Elder pointed down at the Gray Demon Whale they were on.

"Even if this Gray Demon Whale is powerful, it can’t be stronger than Lord Akatos. And even Lord Akatos, outside the protection of the Jade Forest’s Barrier, couldn’t face two Ancestors and a host of Divine Hall Priests."

"So... we take the longest route, to the south. We’ll leave the Abyss quickly, before they can react. Once we reach high altitude... the Queen’s Divine Hall’s detection arrays will be at their weakest. That will be the safest time for us."

"South... Teacher Sage, Teacher Hom, Han Ning, Academician Zhou, what are your thoughts?" Leon looked to the people beside him for their opinions.

"I agree. Since he’s a high-ranking member of the Cyan God Armor Family, his intelligence should be accurate," Sage nodded.

"I second that," Hom said, a man of few words.

"My thoughts... let’s do as the Second Elder says. We have contingency plans for all three routes anyway, so it’s not an unexpected path," Han Ning voiced his agreement.

"Alright..." Zhou Mingkai put down his tablet, stood up, and asked, "When do we depart?"

"Notify all departments to run a final check on the arrays and equipment. In ten minutes... we launch!" Han Ning slapped the table.

With the route decided, everyone stopped hesitating and immediately dove into busy preparations.

Leon walked to the central control console, picked up the internal intercom, and spoke in clear Insect Language:

"All departments, attention. The Spiritual Energy Concealment Array is preparing for activation. Begin circuit diagnostics now."

"All other module operation teams, await notification for the Concealment Array’s activation. Synchronize and begin your own circuit diagnostics."

"Data acquisition department, begin collecting atmospheric data..."

"All on-duty Soul Beasts of Lord Level and above, move to battle stations."

"Non-essential personnel, proceed to the rest cabins immediately to avoid the external emanations of the Spiritual Energy storm."

"Ms. Liu Mengting, transmit the launch command to Grey and report its mental state to the command room at all times."

"..."

"Concealment Array team, acknowledged."

"Defense team, acknowledged."

"Data processing center, acknowledged..."

"Mengting, acknowledged."

As one command after another was sent out from the command center,

the display panel in the center of the hall lit up with a dense array of multicolored lights.

This super-navigational Soul Beast—the product of nearly a thousand people’s painstaking labor over half a year, working almost twenty hours a day—was finally ready for its official launch!

At this moment, everyone—from the support staff in the rest areas, to the grim-faced operators standing at their posts, to the combat personnel stationed in the battle-ready zones, and even all the Soul Beasts on deck—fixed their gazes on Grey below, their eyes filled with hope, tension, and anticipation.

HMMMM~

Instantly, a low-pitched, buzzing hum, like the drone of bees, echoed above Grey’s back.

Mysterious-blue points of light flashed into existence, and one by one, the mystical Spiritual Energy Circuits lit up.

"This is the Concealment team. Concealment Array diagnostics are clear. Ready for activation at any time."

"Power systems check out. Ready to go!"

"Initiating ten percent power pre-start. The entire system is entering warm-up status. Activating Concealment Array, Defense Array, Weight Reduction Array..."

HMMMMMM~~

An invisible pressure of Spiritual Energy spread out from the dense network of Spiritual Nodes all over Grey’s body.

Myriad-colored points of light converged, illuminating each part of Grey’s body one by one. Complex and profound circuits crisscrossed the surface of its enormous whale Body.

"Power system warm-up complete. All functions are ready for use!"

"Good. Ten-second countdown to takeoff!" Leon nodded, raised his head, and stared through the bridge’s ’glass’ windscreen with excitement-filled eyes at the quietly burning Wall of Nether Fire. His voice was firm.

"10!"

"9!"

"..."

The clear countdown echoed in everyone’s ears.

A palpable atmosphere swept over everyone on the Gray Demon Whale.

No matter where they were, whether they were Human, Dragon Blood, or Hexagon Beast Masters, they all began to chant along with Leon’s countdown.

"3!"

"2!"

"1!"

"Launch!!"

"MROOOOWWW!!!"

A vast and ancient whale song, as if from the primeval oceans, resounded through the heavens.

Grey’s vast ventral, dorsal, and caudal fins lit up with a deep, dark-purple glow and began to beat powerfully.

Amidst a surging vortex of Spiritual Energy, the behemoth, over 2,300 meters long, slowly lifted off the ground and flew diagonally into the Night Nether City night sky, 320 meters up.

Guided by the dual reports from Liu Mengting and the navigation system, Grey changed direction and sped away toward the south of Night Nether City.

Great swathes of flickering mist enveloped Grey. As the clouds and fog churned, its enormous frame seemed to be erased inch by inch, as if by an eraser, vanishing into the starlit night sky.

In the time it took to flap its fins once, Grey had already reached the edge of the Wall of Nether Fire.

The moment it touched the Wall of Nether Fire, the fiery wall, which had burned for countless ages, parted to either side as if greeting its master, actively creating a wide passage for Grey.

"Mrooo~~"

A massive amount of Dark Particles precipitated from the void, forming powerful, high-impact vortexes beneath every inch of Grey’s body.

SWOOSH!!

Within just three seconds, the sky-propping Giant Beast, completely enveloped in Dark Particles, transformed into a dark-purple streak of Flowing Light and shot toward the southern sky of the Grudge Abyss.

"Increase Spiritual Energy output! All seven power sources, help Grey enter full-speed navigation mode!"

"All detection systems online. Receive real-time environmental data and prepare for preemptive evasion."

"Current energy transfer is stable! No signs of circuit collapse!"

As Grey took off, the dozens of monitors inside the bridge’s command center began displaying comprehensive operational data from every system.

Meanwhile, the largest LCD screen displayed a multi-view surveillance feed—including thermal, 3D, and standard imaging—providing a blind-spot-free, 360-degree view around Grey.

"Current speed: Mach 2. Third power source activated. Speed increasing."

"Forward Sky Domain is clear. No suspicious life forms detected."

"Attention! We are about to cross over the Madness Forest. Combat teams, prepare for a potential Death Leech Swarm."

"Grey’s mood is good, mental state is stable!"
