While waiting in line, Han Ning observed his surroundings with great interest.

The scene before him was quite an eye-opener.

Among the passersby were members of the Merfolk Race, who had scales of various colors on their cheeks.

There were also members of the Sea Deer Race, who had small, curved horns, pale blue skin, and stout limbs, and crawled low to the ground, resembling manatees.

There was even a non-humanoid, intelligent Race he couldn't name that carried a shell on its back, much like a hermit crab.

The most numerous, however, were the Merfolk and Sea Deer, who resembled the guards.

'I've heard that the scales of the Merfolk signify their class status within their race. I wonder if that's true?'

Han Ning watched the scaled people coming and going from the corner of his eye, feeling uncertain.

This was all just bits and pieces of information he had gathered from the conversations of other Alien Races on his way here.

Some of the other aliens were also visiting Pagji Island for the first time and were discussing the local situation, which Han Ning's "Sharp-Eared" ability picked right up.

"It's true. The more transparent the scales on their cheeks, the closer they are to a crystalline form, and the more handsome their features, the more noble they are among the Merfolk Race," their Guide, Shuili, whispered. "Sirs, don't mind my ugly appearance. In truth, the scales on our faces grow in different locations. The lords of the Royal Family look almost identical to this lord from the Witch Spirit Race—the men are handsome, and the women are graceful."

"The Sea Deer Race are a brother race to us Merfolk, so besides our own kind, they are the most numerous race here."

From the waist up, the Merfolk were about fifty percent similar to humans. The difference was the dense, fish-like scales covering their bodies, which were somewhat unsettling to look at.

Some scales were crimson, some were light blue, and others were brownish-yellow... each representing different Attributes.

Furthermore, their ears were pointed, and their earlobes had a hint of an elemental color, making them very easy to identify.

The Sea Deer Race, on the other hand, bore far less resemblance to humans, their overall appearance leaning more toward that of other creatures.

On the wall next to the small building in front of them, a large notice was posted.

On it, a message was written in Alvik, the universal language of the Purple Crystal World, as well as several other languages Han Ning didn't recognize.

Since Alvik was the universal language, everyone had learned some from Sage and Hom before setting off, so they could more or less understand it. The wall roughly said:

"Recall Soul Beasts, verify identity..."

The line wasn't long, and their turn came quickly.

"!^#*&^? (Alien Race, state your origin.)"

The city gate guard saw Han Ning's appearance without any surprise and simply spoke a sentence in Alvik.

The city entry inspection was similar to customs. Having seen it countless times in TV shows and anime and rehearsed it in his head, Han Ning knew the drill. He took out a few low-level Soul Beast Crystal Stones and handed them to the guard.

The guard discreetly pocketed the Soul Beast Crystal Stones and, with a faint smile, asked in Alvik, "Is this your first time on Pagji Island?"

"Yes, we're here to rest for a few days."

"Do you have any companions?" the guard asked, glancing at Sage.

The Guide, Shuixiu, took over the conversation. She produced the registration certificate for Grey's docking at the supply station and began to describe Grey's approximate size and the number of personnel on board for Han Ning's group.

"A Soul Beast between 2,000 and 2,500 meters in size, at the Lord stage of Power. It houses fewer than 4,000 residents... The ship's master is named Han Ning, a Tier Four Beastmaster..."

Behind the counter, the Merfolk in charge of registration used a pale black, charcoal-like stick, only half a hand long, to quickly record Han Ning's and the others' information.

Finally, the Merfolk pushed a list filled with dense text toward Han Ning and said:

"Based on the size of your docked Soul Beast, we can offer you a maximum of 200 entry permits for the city. According to the Alliance's regulations, for a docked Beast Master and Soul Beast of your scale, only 200 people are allowed inside per day. The daily fee for staying in the city is 300 Pearls per person. Of course, the rest of your people are free to move about within the port area. Our Flood Dragon Alliance's port has three of the region's most resource-rich trading markets, as well as a range of facilities for your relaxation, which should be more than enough to meet your needs."

"Additionally, the registered individual for the docked Soul Beast can bring in five followers, who will not be counted as part of the entry quota."

"If you choose to purchase the maximum number of slots, we can provide a full day's worth of food for all 200 people, free of charge."

"Now, how long do you plan on staying?"

Han Ning did a quick calculation based on the exchange information provided on the desk. The currency used on Pagji Island was called Shell Pearl, a type of Natural Spiritual Material rich in Water Type Spiritual Energy. One Awakened Level Soul Beast Crystal Stone could be exchanged for roughly 100 Pearls. This meant that just for one person to stay in the city for a day without doing anything would cost three Awakened Level Soul Beast Crystal Stones.

For 200 people, a one-day stay would be 600 stones.

"I'd like to stay for five days. As for the quota, I'll take the full 200 slots," Han Ning said.

To borrow a classic phrase from the people of Xia Country, 'Since we're already here...' it would be a waste not to go inside and take a look.

3,000 Awakened Level Soul Beast Crystal Stones. Using the local exchange rate, that converted to 300 Extraordinary Level or 15 War General Level Crystal Stones. With their current financial strength, this was an acceptable expense.

"Please pay with Soul Crystals or equivalent materials," the Merfolk said with a friendly smile.

"Will this do?" Han Ning took an Extraordinary Level Insect Crystal from his pouch and placed it on the desk.

The Merfolk picked it up and examined it carefully before nodding. "A crystal formed from the Energy of an insect-type Soul Beast also counts as a Soul Crystal. It's within the standard exchange list."
