"Split the waterfall."

It was a very simple sentence that was on the pillar, but they couldn’t understand why there was this pillar here in the first place.

With the tone that it was said in, it almost seemed like some kind of trial.

Even though her slash had been able to cut through the waterfall, it wasn’t as if the water would just stop because of this slash alone. The water that had been displaced by the slash was being replaced by other water that was falling down, so the gap that had been created was only temporary.

That was why Ye Qing Huan grabbed both Lin Fan and Xiao Mu to charge forward.

It was just that Lin Fan felt that there was something off about this gap that had been created. It felt like this gap had something wrong with it, but Lin Fan wasn’t able to put his finger on what exactly was wrong with it.

But it was too late since they had already gone into the gap and entered the space behind the waterfall.

That space wasn’t actually that strange, it was nothing more than a simple cave that led deeper in.

While they had no idea what was in front of them, it wasn’t as if they could go backwards now since the water was still falling behind them.

So instead of going back, they continued forward.

Though before continuing forward, Lin Fan took the token and held it in his hand instead of leaving it inside of his clothes. He wanted the token in a place where he would be able to use it at a moment’s notice if something were to happen.

But as they continued forward, it felt like there wasn’t anything at all in this cave.

The fact that there wasn’t anything at all showed that they had come to the wrong place. After all, this was supposed to be a place where the spiritual energy was gathered together to use for cultivation.

It was clear by the way that the waterfall released spiritual energy into the air that this was a place that was designed for one to cultivate in. It was most likely a special place that only those elites of the Dao Sect were able to cultivate.

So for there to not be any spiritual energy in this place, it meant that this was a space that was separate from the main cultivation space.

This was most likely a trap for those that had come in the wrong way.

It was just that there were those traces of spiritual energy in the air. It seemed like there was still some kind of spiritual energy in this place.

Which was why they were following those traces to see what it was that was here.

Not long after, they suddenly came to a stop.

"There’s a reaction from the token."

As soon as Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu heard this, they moved behind Lin Fan. However, both of them seemed like they were ready to act the moment that anything showed up.

They didn’t know what to expect, but they were prepared to do what needed to be done.

But in the end, there was no need for them to actually do anything.

Sitting cross legged were a group of elders that Ye Qing Huan recognized with a single glance. But that wasn’t what surprised them the most, rather it was one specific elder that they saw that surprised them.

It was the Fire Fist King, Lin Fan’s other master.

With the way that the elders were sitting here, it was as if they had been completely cut off from the outside world. It almost looked like no matter what happened, they wouldn’t respond to anything that called out to them.

But for them to be in such a state of concentration that they were completely isolated from the outside world was very strange. In fact, it even seemed like this wasn’t a state that they were willingly in.

It seemed like this was a state that they were being forced into.

If they didn’t remain in this state, then it would have been hard for them to resist the spiritual energy that was around them.

The spiritual energy that was around them was the reason why there were the traces of spiritual energy in the air. It was just that this was a malicious patch of spiritual energy that had been forced around these elders.

There was no doubt about the concentration of spiritual energy that was around them, this was without a doubt powerful spiritual energy that would be helpful to one’s cultivation if it was used properly.

It was just that there was too much of it.

"It’s being layered in a way that it oversaturates the space, so that anyone that tries to absorb it has no choice but to absorb too much."

This wasn’t something that was hard to figure out since it was quite obvious what the structure of the spiritual energy in the air was like. It was just that there was nothing that anyone could to do to help the ones that were trapped by this spiritual energy.

The only thing that one could do to help was to absorb the spiritual energy that was around them to allow them to break free of the cage that they were trapped in.

It seemed like this main part of the Dao Sect was quite fond of using cages to trap the outsiders that snuck into this place. Though as for why they preferred using cages to just simply taking out the intruders, that was not something that Lin Fan’s group knew anything about.

Right now, they were thinking about how to help the Fire Fist King escape from this zone of oversaturated spiritual energy that he was trapped in.

"Find the source." That was Lin Fan’s conclusion in the end.

It wasn’t as if he didn’t try to use the token to stop the oversaturated spiritual energy, but that didn’t seem to have any effect at all. There was no reaction from the token when it was brought near the zone of oversaturated spiritual energy.

So unlike the cage in the treasure pavilion, it seemed like this time the token had no effect at all.

In which case, the only thing that could be done was find the source of the spiritual energy.

"We’ll never reach it." Ye Qing Huan said in response.

She was of course referring to the waterfall that seemed to reach all the way into the sky. With the way that the cliff seemed to have no end, it was only natural that they wouldn’t be able to find the source of the spiritual energy.

"It’s inside this cave." Lin Fan said to the surprise of Ye Qing Huan.

She raised a brow as if she was a bit doubtful of this, but that soon disappeared when she saw the way that Lin Fan looked back at her.

If he was so certain, then she would see what he would show her.
