Once they were completely out of the mist, they let out a sigh of relief.

After all, it wasn’t hard to figure out that it was the mist that had been used to block the spiritual energy from escaping. It was the reason why the mist was so thick in this place to begin with.

Though it was certainly strange to find that this was something that the mist was capable of. It seemed like this mist really had all kinds of functions that they just didn’t know about.

"So where are the elders?"

With the mist gone, they were able to see what was in front of them.

Even before seeing it, they were already able to hear the sounds coming from in front of them. With how loud it was, it really was something that was hard to ignore.

There was this large waterfall that was raging right in front of them and nothing else.

It didn’t seem like there was anything at all on the side of the cliff that the waterfall was situated on, but it was also strange since they couldn’t see where the water for the waterfall was coming from.

With the way that the water flowed, it really seemed like it came right out of the sky.

Though that wasn’t the most important thing about this waterfall.

The most shocking thing was the sensation that came from the water itself.

"It’s the water releasing the spiritual energy?"

Looking closely, they could see the spiritual energy that was being spewed out by the water as it fell down the waterfall. At the bottom was a pool, but it didn’t seem to overflow even though it was so small.

It was as if there was something that was quickly draining all of the excess water from this pool so that it didn’t overflow.

However, they could tell that it wasn’t that simple.

"When the water from the waterfall lands, it splashes and releases the spiritual energy into the air. That’s where most of the water is disappearing to."

It really was a strange method of filling this space with spiritual energy, the water itself was being used as some kind of vessel to transfer the spiritual energy.

Since the water was being used as the transport method, then the source of the spiritual energy had to be at the source of the water as well.

If they were able to bring it back to the Heavenly Demon Sect, then there was no doubt that they would be able to set up training areas that were far superior to what they currently had. Once that happened, it would be easy for them to surpass the righteous sects.

But it wasn’t as if Lin Fan or Ye Qing Huan were even thinking about that.

To take the source of the spiritual energy, that would mean taking one of the key treasures of the Dao Sect.

They already knew that it would be impossible unless they had control over the entire ruins. Otherwise, the trap that would be guarding this source would be enough to take out all of the elders that came.

The spiritual energy that had been in the water had long been dispersed into the air and the pool seemed to be where the water gathered once more. It seemed like there was something that was placed in the pool that drained the water that was used to transport the spiritual energy.

So only the spiritual energy remained in the air while the water was taken away to be used again for transport.

From where they were looking, they could see that there was something at the bottom of the pool for this. They couldn’t see it clearly since it was the bottom of the surprisingly deep pool, but they could still tell that it was some kind of array.

As for the waterfall itself, there was actually a small island right at the base of the waterfall. It wasn’t right under so it wasn’t being hit with the water from the waterfall.

The only thing that was on this island was a small rock pillar that had some words carved on the side of it.

When they came closer to see the words, they were surprised by what they saw.
