The only path to survival was to be completely open.

Allen took a deep breath, suppressed the string of high-risk alerts from DSeek, and took a step forward.

In the next instant, he was standing before the Star Gate in Hub City.

The familiar hustle and bustle of the crowd surrounded him, but Allen felt an unprecedented loneliness and chill.

He looked up at the magnificent Star Gate leading to the Great Library Plane. The endless azure sea and floating islands behind it had been the starting point of his enterprise.

But now, in Allen’s eyes, that gate looked like the gaping, bloody maw of an ancient beast, ready to devour him whole.

He straightened his collar, his expression returning to a state of calm.
