Chapter 157: Chapter 157: Divine Remains

"The Multi-Body Race is a fairly well-known race in the Star Realm. According to the records of other expeditionary Wizards, the Multi-Body Race is quite widespread throughout the Endless Star Realm."

"Their formation is complex. Some cases are due to genetic mutation, others to Bloodline inheritance. Some even developed multiple limbs after accidentally eating something."

"Eventually, Wizards just started calling all of them the Multi-Body Race."

Piedra took a deep breath and began to explain the origins of the Multi-Body Race.

"Yes, based on my research, the Multi-Body Race of this world was likely formed through Bloodline inheritance. The most powerful branches are the Duomu, the Multi-Heart, and the Multi-Brain."

Andre added, picking up where Piedra left off.

"It seems we’ve encountered the most powerful Bloodline branches of the Multi-Body Race."

"The last time a world like this was found, a Wizard came across a world of the Multi-Body Race while traveling through the Star Realm."

"That world was home to the most powerful of the Multi-Body Race ever recorded in the history of the Wizard World."

"It contained several members of the Multi-Body Race at the Moonlight Grand Wizard Level."

"Although, within that world, no one at the Red Sun Grand Wizard Level had ever emerged since the Multi-Body Race first appeared."

"But beings at the Moonlight Grand Wizard Level are powerful enough to anchor an entire race, let alone having several of them."

"Later, that world and its surrounding World Group were named the Multi-Body World Group."

"Don’t tell me this world is part of the Multi-Body World Group."

The thought suddenly struck Karina as she listened to Piedra’s story.

"Uh, if I remember correctly, five thousand years after it was named, the entire Multi-Body World Group was brought into the sphere of influence of the Wizard Ancestral Land."

"Those members of the Multi-Body Race on par with Moonlight Great Mages became servants to the Truth Great Wizards."

"Later, the entire Multi-Body World was searched from top to bottom. In the end, they found the bodies of over a dozen Divine Spirits. Only after unearthing the remains did the Wizards realize that the so-called Multi-Body World was actually a divine battleground!"

A flicker of embarrassment crossed Piedra’s face when he heard Karina’s question.

"The Multi-Body Race of this world has no connection to that Multi-Body World Group."

Andre then produced the bodies of the Multi-Body Race he had hunted, as well as the Bloodline extracted from them, from his Storage Ring.

"According to my research, these Bloodlines can be fused. They likely originated from a single, powerful being, and this is its ultimate form.

After presenting the bodies and the test tubes of Bloodline, Andre carefully retrieved a jar from his Secret Realm and placed it on the table.

"Are those seals reliable?" Karina asked. Upon seeing the dense web of Witchcraft Curse Seals covering the jar Andre took out, she immediately felt a frightening aura emanating from it.

"It’s just a few drops of fused Bloodline. Nothing will happen."

Andre rolled his eyes at Karina before opening the jar.

The moment Andre removed the lid, a flash of blood-red light erupted from the jar, only to be tightly constrained by the Witchcraft he had cast upon it.

"Come, take a look."

Once the figure formed by the Bloodline Power stopped struggling, Andre spoke.

Everyone looked over. Before them was a crimson silhouette.

"This being has four legs, four arms, three eyes, two hearts, seven lungs, three stomachs, two sets of intestines, six kidneys, and two livers."

Andre rotated the jar, causing the crimson figure to magnify so everyone could get a clearer look.

"This aura, this structure... it should be a Polytheism."

"Polytheism... Multi-Body... is there a connection?"

Jessica, the youngest among them, asked with curiosity.

"It’s simple. The Multi-Body Race in this world originated from this Divine Spirit before you."

"And a ’Polytheism,’ as it’s called, is a fairly common type of Divine Spirit in the Pantheon World Group."

Karina shot to her feet the moment Andre finished speaking.

"Don’t tell me you’re planning to study this Divine Spirit."

"What’s the problem? It’s dead. Relax," Andre said, looking at Karina.

"Dead? If it wasn’t dead, do you think the Multi-Body Race would even exist in this world?"

Andre rolled his eyes at Karina again.

"Over in the Pantheon World Group, they’re all about Divine Positions, Divine Statuses, and that sort of thing."

"Every time a Divine Spirit gains a new Divine Position or their Divine Status’s Power Level rises, they gain an additional form."

"To present their strongest form, or to use different Abilities in battle, they mold these different Abilities into physical limbs, creating the appearance you see now."

Piedra explained to Karina.

"Only the Divine Spirits of weak worlds do this."

"In truly powerful Divine Worlds, the practice is to collect similar primordial Divine Positions, then fuse them together to form one’s own Abilities."

"By these means, they gradually increase their Power, touch upon Truth, and become what they refer to as Primordial Divine Spirits."

Andre added, looking toward Jessica and Karina.

"That’s right. But even though this Divine Spirit has fallen, its Bloodline still created beings on par with Level 3 Wizards."

"This means that before its death, this Divine Spirit was at least at the Moonlight Grand Wizard Level, and possibly even the Red Sun Grand Wizard Level."

When Piedra finished, the color drained from the faces of Karina and Jessica.

"Are we going to have to fight a being of that Level?"

Karina’s voice trembled as she spoke.

"We’re not fighting a being of that Level. We’re fighting the Multi-Body Race that spawned from it after it fell."

Andre shook his head at Karina in exasperation. ’If they had to directly face a Divine Spirit on the level of a Moonlight Great Mage, or even a Red Sun Great Wizard, they wouldn’t be on an expedition. They’d just run as far and as fast as they could. They’d even self-destruct their Star Realm Battleship without a second thought if it meant getting away.’

"In that case, aren’t the Multi-Body Race aliens to this world?"

Rote pointed out, having realized something.

"No, the Multi-Body Race aren’t exactly outsiders."

Sander shook his head and explained.

"It’s more likely that after this Divine Spirit died, its Divine Remains accidentally drifted to this world."

"The Divine Blood within the Divine Remains spread throughout the world through its rivers and lakes. It was this diluted Divine Blood that caused the world’s native races to gradually evolve into the Multi-Body Race we see today."

"In other words, this world we’re on has essentially eaten the Divine Spirit."

"But this world is immense, and advancing to a higher level requires an incredible amount of Power. Even after consuming the corpse of a being on par with a Moonlight Great Mage or a Red Sun Great Wizard, it still hasn’t advanced."
