Chapter 163: Chapter 163: Azure Sky Fruit Tree
The structure before him was less a nest and more a stone labyrinth the Tidal Sea Eels had pushed into place with their heads.
The Sea Crystal Stones used to build the nest had been brought here from the depths of the ocean, pushed along by the eels’ heads one by one.
For this very reason, the once-smooth Sea Crystal Stones were now covered in sharp edges. Once assembled into a nest, they became the Tidal Sea Eels’ greatest protection.
The translucent structure of the Sea Crystal Stones helped the Tidal Sea Eels hide in the water, concealing them from enemies in the sky and on land.
The sharp edges of the stones, meanwhile, protected them from being preyed upon by other fish in the river.
Only a creature with a body as supple as a Tidal Sea Eel’s could navigate the Sea Crystal Stone piles without injury.
’It’s daytime now, around 3 p.m. In another two hours, a large number of Tidal Sea Eels will return from the sea.’
Andre emerged from the river, using Witchcraft to evaporate the water from his body.
He would wait for nightfall, then collect the Tidal Sea Eels.
’For the Tidal Sea Eels to build their nests here... there must be something special about this place.’
Andre stood up, activated his Eye of Truth, and looked toward the riverbed.
Instantly, a faint blue line appeared against the earthen-yellow backdrop.
’Nothing! Did the Tidal Sea Eels just pick a random spot?’
Andre found that hard to believe. After all, Tidal Sea Eels were still Magical Beasts.
Although they were weak, the special mucus on their bodies and their incredible Speed in the water made them difficult to capture.
Andre continued to scan his surroundings. When he looked at the trees,
pillars of green light appeared in his vision.
This was the Power of Life within the trees.
Andre scanned the area again. Just as he was about to conclude there was nothing special here, a flash of green appeared in his vision—a green so intense it was almost alarming.
’What is that?’ Andre immediately activated the second Ability of his Eye of Truth.
This was an Ability the Eye of Truth had automatically developed after he became an Official Wizard.
The green light magnified in his vision, and its true form was revealed.
"An Azure Spring Fruit Tree!" Seeing the true form of the light, Andre gasped. Multiple Wings of the Wind sprouted from his back, and he shot toward the Azure Spring Fruit Tree.
This time, Andre went all out.
Three minutes later, Andre came to a stop and landed, gazing at the Azure Spring Fruit Tree before him.
The Azure Spring Fruit—also known as the Spring Fruit, Azure Sky Fruit, or Divine Fruit—could increase the Speed at which a Wizard absorbed external Magic Power.
But if that were all, the Azure Spring Fruit wouldn’t be so revered, nor would its price be so exorbitant.
A single Azure Spring Fruit could sell for over a million Magic Stones.
The price was so high because its effects were permanent.
In other words, even a fool could become a genius after eating enough Azure Spring Fruits.
And that was only the first use of the Azure Sky Fruit.
Its second use was to be juiced and made into a Potion that permanently strengthened the Soul.
The third effect was the primary reason for its skyrocketing value.
It was also the origin of its alias, the Divine Fruit.
The Azure Spring Fruit could help those who walked the path of divinity, the Divine Spirits themselves, to forge a fountain of faith within their Soul, thus freeing them from the shackles of the Power of Faith.
The Power of Faith is both the source of a Divine Spirit’s Power and a heavy shackle.
Once a Divine Spirit relies on the Power of Faith to ignite their Divine Fire and ascend to their Divine Throne, they must travel to the plane of their Divine Kingdom to forge it.
There, using the Divine Kingdom as a vessel, they absorb the Power of Faith, establish Prayer Merging troops, and forge bodies for their Saints.
All of these tasks are accomplished using the Power of Faith, as Divine Power is merely a variant of it.
Because of this, a Divine Spirit cannot easily leave their Divine Kingdom; if they do, they lose access to the Power of Faith.
Therefore, when a Divine Spirit operates in the outside world, they do so through avatars of Divine Power.
However, a Divine Spirit who has eaten an Azure Spring Fruit and possesses a fountain of faith no longer needs to hole up in their Divine Kingdom, absorbing the Power of Faith there to increase their strength.
They can roam freely to any corner of their world.
It was because of these three major effects that the Wizard who discovered it believed it to be a fruit bestowed by the heavens. Taking its effects into account, he named it the Azure Spring Fruit.
Andre immediately uprooted the Azure Spring Fruit Tree. He also took the land that had nurtured it, along with the underground spring, and moved it all into his Secret Realm.
Something like an Azure Spring Fruit Tree could not be left out in the open.
After doing all this, Andre flashed into his Secret Realm, picked out a suitable spot, and planted the tree.
He cleaned up the area, then flashed back out to continue exploring the jungle.
As he stood where the Azure Sky Fruit Tree had been and looked around,
many other things radiating intense green light appeared in his vision.
After observing them and determining they were all rather rare Magic Plants, Andre flew over, uprooted them, and planted them in his Secret Realm.
In the process of searching for these rare Magic Plants, the sky gradually darkened.
As night fell, Andre took the opportunity to plant a Heart-Linking Grass he had discovered into his Secret Realm, then flew back.
The tide was about to recede, which was precisely when the Tidal Sea Eels would return to their nest.
Andre returned to the nest and waited quietly until the sky was completely dark.
Half an hour later, Andre summoned the Three Wonders Wheel from the sky and threw it into the river.
Instantly, a terrifyingly cold aura erupted from the Three Wonders Wheel, freezing the river’s surface in a flash.
As the cold aura spread downstream, the frozen area expanded.
Eventually, Andre had frozen the entire river solid.
Once his goal was accomplished, Andre landed on the ice. He activated his Eye of Truth and looked down into the river he had frozen.
The river’s fish and Magical Beasts were now trapped in the ice. Only a few of the Magical Beasts were struggling, trying to break free.
Andre ignored them. He found a Tidal Sea Eel, smashed the ice, and pulled it free.
Then, he took a Racial Nest from his Storage Bracelet and held it in his hand.
Andre looked at the Racial Nest, took a deep breath, and began to cast his Witchcraft to activate it.
He didn’t know if the Racial Nest could even accommodate a Tidal Sea Eel. He waited until the Demon Patterns etched on the nest flashed with light, then he smashed the eel in his hand directly onto the Racial Nest.
Instantly, the Tidal Sea Eel’s blood stained the Racial Nest red.
As the Tidal Sea Eel’s blood coated the Racial Nest, the nest erupted in a burst of blue light, and its interior began to transform.
While the Racial Nest was transforming, Andre began breaking off chunks of ice and tossing them one by one into the nest.
As he did this, Andre gradually released his freeze on the river.
