Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth

Chapter 166: Crocodile Leather Armor

'Once the Second Expeditionary Corps arrives, I'll know if my master was successful.'

Andre looked at the crocodile skin before him, a sharp glint in his eyes.

"You, come here for a moment," Andre said, looking at Jessica.

Jessica pointed to herself and looked at Andre in surprise, not understanding why he was calling her over.

"Your brother asked me to use this crocodile skin to forge a Witchcraft Artifact for you, to prevent you from getting injured during the assault on the Multi-Body Race Kingdom."

Andre said to Jessica.

Rote had just stepped out of the room when he heard Andre's words. His eyes widened, and a wave of joy washed over him.

He had, in fact, asked Andre to forge a Witchcraft Artifact for Jessica on their way back.

It was only after they returned that he learned what had happened to her.

Because of this, he didn't know if Andre would forge the Witchcraft Artifact as they had previously agreed.

After all, Jessica had already shown signs of straying, and he was worried Andre would break their agreement because of it.

But to his surprise, Andre was honoring his promise.

This also served as a clear statement of Andre's attitude toward them.

Jessica turned to glance at Rote. Seeing him nod at her, she finally walked over to Andre's side.

"Lift your arms."

Andre said to Jessica.

Jessica nodded and raised her arms.

Andre took a measuring tape from his Storage Ring and began measuring Jessica's height, arm length, and finally, her shoulder width.

"Alright!" After Andre committed the measurements to memory, he put away the tape, sat down, and began to work on the Witchcraft Artifact with the crocodile skin before him.

First, with a gesture from Andre, a ball of water instantly rose from the nearby river and flew toward him.

Andre then threw the crocodile skin into the ball of water, letting the fresh water clean it. At the same time, he took out a hammer and slowly smashed the massive crocodile skull to pieces, finally tossing it into a grinder to be pulverized into powder.

Finally, Andre took out the crocodile teeth he had just broken off and placed them on the table. He then had the King of the Black Iron People come over and form a stone basin, into which he tossed the teeth. At the same time, he poured in a Potion to soften them.

While the crocodile teeth were softening, Andre removed the cleaned crocodile skin from the ball of water, placed it on the table, and began to cut it.

This time, he was going to forge two Witchcraft Artifacts, one for Jessica and one for Karina.

Once the cutting was done, Andre placed the crocodile skin on the table. He then took out some Potions, mixed them together, and spread the mixture evenly over the skin to soften it.

He then took out more Potions and poured them into the stone basin, adding the freshly ground bone powder to soak with the crocodile teeth before stirring continuously.

As he began to stir, a gurgling sound started to come from the stone basin. Then, a plume of multicolored smoke rose from it.

Seeing this, Jessica immediately took two steps back.

'No matter how I look at it, this doesn't seem like he's forging a Witchcraft Artifact for me.'

At that moment, Rote also walked over and looked at Andre.

Andre glanced at Rote, then pointed at the crocodile meat he had just carved off.

"What is this for?"

Rote looked at the crocodile meat, a bit at a loss.

"Take this meat and grill it. I haven't had breakfast yet!"

Andre's words left Rote not knowing whether to laugh or cry, but he had no choice but to take the crocodile meat to be grilled.

Finally, Andre took the mixed liquid from the stone basin and poured it into a test tube. He then took out a pen and began to write a Witchcraft Curse Seal on the softened crocodile skin.

Three hours later, Andre finished the last stroke. He then took out a hammer and chisel and inscribed the Witchcraft Curse Seal into the crocodile skin.

As the Witchcraft Curse Seal took shape, faint streams of Magic Power began to flow from the air into the crocodile skin.

At this point, the crocodile skin could already be considered a Witchcraft Tool.

But to become a true Witchcraft Artifact, there were still several steps to go.

First was to apply the mixed liquid, containing the melted crocodile teeth and skull, onto the crocodile skin bit by bit. He would apply a layer, let it dry, apply another, let it dry, and another, until all the mixed liquid was used up.

Finally, it had to be baked. Not with ordinary fire, but with the Magic Fire created by the Witchcraft Curse Seal.

Andre tossed the crocodile skin into the Magic Fire, watching as the flames slowly baked it dry.

During the drying process, the crocodile skin automatically took shape. At first, it looked like a greatcoat, then it gradually shrank, and finally, it transformed into two pieces of Leather Armor.

After the Leather Armor appeared, Andre plucked it from the Magic Fire and tossed it into the air. At the same time, he held out his hand and looked at Rote.

Rote didn't quite understand Andre's gesture.

"The heart!" Andre rolled his eyes at Rote. Only then did Rote understand, and he took out the Fear Crocodile's heart.

Andre held the massive, 1.1-meter-diameter heart and squeezed hard, forcing the blood out.

As the blood sprayed out, the Leather Armor was just falling from the sky, and it was splattered by the blood.

The moment the blood touched the Leather Armor, it stopped falling. It began to continuously absorb the blood, only landing on the table after it had drunk its fill.

"Done!" Andre picked up the Leather Armor, gave it a shake, and nodded in satisfaction.

The original crocodile skin had many grooves, and he had carved the Witchcraft Curse Seals into these very grooves.

After being forged in the Magic Fire and fusing with the applied bone powder and crocodile teeth, the entire surface of the Leather Armor had become incredibly smooth.

"I've inscribed a Witchcraft on it called Dread Crocodile Bite. It can summon a phantom of the Fear Crocodile to attack your enemies. The duration is five minutes."

Andre tossed the two pieces of Leather Armor to Jessica and Karina.

Jessica caught the Leather Armor and felt its surface, then looked at Andre in shock.

'This is completely different from the crocodile skin I just saw.'

"What are you staring at? Go wash up and put it on."

Andre rolled his eyes again, took the meat skewer Rote handed him, and started gnawing on it.

Jessica and Karina exchanged a glance, then ran back to their respective rooms to wash themselves and clean off any residue on the Leather Armor.

"You're working too fast. You just got back yesterday, and you're already making this today," Rote said, sitting down next to Andre.

"It's something that came to me last night."

"Since my status as a Master Alchemist isn't enough to carry weight in their eyes, I'll just give them a little more."

"If they still don't know when to back down, then they can't blame me for what happens next."

Andre looked at Rote and shook his head. Rote instantly understood Andre's intentions.

'So they want to play the game of overwhelming others with power? Fine, bring it on. Who's afraid of whom?'
