On one hand, someone had them by the throat. On the other hand, it was a situation so awful they never wanted to experience it a second time.
For a moment, Sander and Piedra were left utterly powerless.
After all, for the past six years, Andre had been the only one who could provide Potions in large quantities.
"Sigh..." The two of them let out a gloomy sigh.
"How is it?" Karina asked, walking out of her room wearing the Leather Armor.
"What do you think?" Andre rolled his eyes.
'I'm the one who made this Leather Armor, and now she's running over to ask me how it is? Is that really a question for me?'
Andre sighed in exasperation.
If he wasn't planning on having Karina lead him to the Tomb of the Giant Elephant—where she would likely be trampled to death by a Giant Elephant without it—he never would have made this Leather Armor for her.
'Every gift from me has its price.'
The price he'd set for Karina's Leather Armor was that when they went to the Tomb of the Giant Elephant, she had to help him lure the Giant Elephants away so he could enter the tomb.
And when faced with intruders in their ancestral lands, those Giant Elephants were bound to become extremely aggressive. That was when Karina would have to prove her worth.
That was why Andre had thought to himself that it was to prevent her from being trampled by a Giant Elephant.
After all, there were six Tombs of the Giant Elephant.
"Brother, how do I look?" Jessica asked as she walked over, also wearing Leather Armor.
"It looks pretty good."
Rote nodded. He had a lot of confidence in Andre's skill with Witchcraft Artifacts and the Defense Power of that Fear Crocodile.
That Fear Crocodile had originally been a Magical Beast at the Level 2 Wizard Level; it was only weak because it had just given birth.
Under those circumstances, killing the Fear Crocodile shouldn't have been difficult for him, yet he had been stopped cold by its tough hide.
From the moment he started fighting the Fear Crocodile, none of the Witchcraft he cast over the next four hours could break through the skin's defense.
Now, Andre had crafted the crocodile skin into Leather Armor, taking its Defense Power to a new level. Not to mention, one could also infuse it with Magic Power to summon a phantom of the Fear Crocodile to help in battle.
Although it only lasted for five minutes, five minutes was enough time to decide many things.
"That's good," Jessica nodded. "I was worried this Leather Armor wouldn't fit well."
"If it didn't fit, why would I have made Leather Armor? I should have made you a set of Bone Armor instead."
Andre rolled his eyes. "Bone Armor?" "Yes, plate armor made from bone shards. Want a set?"
"If you do, have your brother bring out the rest of the Fear Crocodile's body. I'll pull out the spine and ribs and make you a set of Bone Armor."
"I don't think that will be necessary."
Jessica stuck out her tongue and quickly hid behind Rote.
Seeing Jessica's coy act after getting her way, Rote gave her a light pat.
"So, what are we doing next?"
Karina asked Andre, stretching her body.
She was still getting used to wearing the new Leather Armor.
"In six years, the second wave of the Expeditionary Corps will arrive."
"If you don't take all the Magic Plants from the Magic Plant Island now, are you just going to wait for others to share in your harvest?"
Andre said, picking up a skewer of cooked crocodile meat and taking a bite.
"Alright then," Karina nodded.
"Let's go, then." Rote glanced at Jessica, who nodded in agreement.
The four of them boarded their respective Star Realm Battleships.
"You're going too?" Andre asked, looking at Karina.
"Otherwise? The three of you are leaving, and you expect me to stay here and deal with those two by myself?"
As Karina said this, her eyes glanced down below.
Andre nodded and boarded the Morning Sky. Following behind Jessica's Star Realm Battleship, he flew toward the Magic Plant Island.
And so, after the four of them left the Expedition Base, Sander and Piedra finally emerged from their respective houses. They watched the direction the four had departed, their brows furrowed with worry.
But for the moment, they couldn't think of any good solution.
"Let's go. We need to get that stuff back and ease some of this pressure."
Piedra said. Sander nodded, and together they boarded their Star Realm Battleship, flying toward a treasure land they had discovered earlier.
「Half a month later.」
"So this is the Magic Plant Island you were talking about!"
Andre surveyed the island before him and nodded. Just from his current vantage point, he could already see seven or eight different types of Magic Plants.
"Mhm. The closer we get to the center of the island, the better the Magic Plants, and their Level should be higher too."
Jessica looked at Andre and nodded at him seriously.
"Then let's go."
Andre nodded and immediately began to pick the Magic Plants he saw.
"You're starting already?" Karina looked at Andre, confused.
'After coming all this way, shouldn't we go for the rarest Magic Plants first? Why is Andre starting to pick them as soon as we land on the island?'
"I'm collecting samples to analyze their medicinal properties, to distinguish which are poisonous and which are not."
"Which ones can affect the body, which ones can affect the Soul, and which ones can affect Magic Power."
"All of this data will come from these samples."
Andre's explanation was enough to make Rote, Jessica, and Karina's heads spin.
"I could never be an Alchemist in this lifetime."
Jessica said, looking at Andre with an expression of lingering fear.
"Magic Botany is very interesting. If you want to learn, I can teach you."
Andre said, looking at Jessica when he heard this.
Jessica immediately shook her head.
"Alright, let's get started. At this rate, when will we ever finish picking?"
Rote began to help Andre collect Magic Plants.
He picked one or two of each type of Magic Plant.
When Jessica and Karina saw Rote start, they also began to help Andre collect the Magic Plants.
And so, it took the four of them half a month to reach the center of the island.
Here, the number of Magic Plants had noticeably decreased, and just as Jessica had said, their Level was getting higher and higher.
But just as the four of them reached the center of the island, the Magic Plant they saw there made Andre's eyes go wide.
"A Void Tree! Shouldn't these things grow in the Star Realm?!"
Andre stared at the giant tree before him, a look of profound shock flashing in his eyes.
'Could it have been left in this world by that Divine Spirit?!'
'But that's not right either. If it were a remnant of that Divine Spirit, no one would be able to get in here at all. It should be a scene of shattered void.'
'There should be countless spatial rifts, with Void Blades circling the area.'
'It would be a paradise for some void creatures, but it would also be one of the Star Realm's infamous forbidden zones of life.'
