Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 186: Morning Star Witchcraft ArtifactsChapter 186: Chapter 186: Morning Star Witchcraft Artifacts
"Is there any way to restrict a world’s consciousness?"
Karina thought for a moment before asking.
"Yes. Many Witchcraft Arrays can restrict a world’s consciousness, but there’s one requirement: the person presiding over the Witchcraft Array must be a Morning Star."
"Only a powerhouse at the Morning Star Realm or higher can withstand the pressure from a world’s consciousness and buy time for the Witchcraft Array to activate!"
Piedra nodded, confirming that only a Morning Star could contend with a world’s consciousness.
"A Morning Star? Why?" Karina was very puzzled.
"Because the very essence of a Morning Star is equivalent to a small star. Otherwise, how could a Morning Star Great Wizard traverse the Star Realm in their physical body?"
Andre sighed and then said,
"How do you know?" Karina listened to Andre, her voice full of doubt.
"My teacher is about to break through and become a Morning Star Great Wizard. I’ve researched the subject."
"It’s precisely this near-quantum leap in essence that creates the gap between a Morning Star and a Level 3 Wizard."
"If a dozen Level 2 Wizards can overwhelm and kill a Level 3 Wizard, then even a hundred Level 3 Wizards couldn’t kill a single Morning Star Great Wizard."
After he finished speaking, Andre sighed.
"Is that really how it is?" Karina was reeling from the shock.
"What else would it be?" Andre rolled his eyes.
"This is also the step where Wizards embark on a transhuman path, becoming comparable to the powerhouses of the other major races."
"Andre’s right. The Morning Star Realm is the greatest watershed between Wizards."
"To harm a Morning Star Great Wizard, it takes another Morning Star Great Wizard to make a move."
"For anyone below the Morning Star Realm, harming a Morning Star Great Wizard is only possible if you wield a Morning Star Witchcraft Artifact or a Witchcraft Scroll that has sealed a Morning Star Witchcraft."
"Otherwise, it’s basically impossible."
Piedra affirmed Andre’s words. As a veteran Level 2 Wizard, he knew a great deal about such matters.
"What if... we had a Morning Star Witchcraft Artifact?"
Jessica suddenly interjected.
"What? A Morning Star Witchcraft Artifact? Do you think those things just grow on trees?"
Rote heard his sister’s words and immediately rebuked her.
"Andre, didn’t your grand-teacher give you one?"
Jessica directed the conversation toward Andre.
Andre’s grand-teacher was the academy’s second Red Sun Great Wizard; he should have plenty of Morning Star Witchcraft Artifacts.
Andre was the youngest disciple in his lineage. Now that he was participating in a Wizard expedition, it stood to reason that he would have been given a Morning Star Witchcraft Artifact for protection.
"What are you thinking?" Andre rolled his eyes and looked at Jessica’s projection.
"A Morning Star Witchcraft Artifact... My grand-teacher..."
Andre suddenly stopped mid-sentence.
"See? I told you. His master must have given him something of the sort."
Jessica looked incredibly smug at that moment.
"He gave me something even more precious than a Morning Star Witchcraft Artifact,"
Andre said, looking at Jessica.
"You really have a Morning Star Witchcraft Artifact in your possession? Given your current Realm, activating it won’t awaken the world’s consciousness."
"But because of the nature of Morning Star Power, crushing the Multi-Body Race of this world should still be no problem."
A hint of excitement crept into Piedra’s voice.
But just then, Rote stepped forward and poured a bucket of cold water on their hopes.
"Are your memories really that short?"
Rote’s expression was particularly grim as he spoke.
"Andre’s Star Realm Battleship was a gift from his grand-teacher, and a fully equipped one at that."
"A Star Realm Battleship like that isn’t much less valuable than a Morning Star Weapon."
Only after Rote said this did everyone remember that Andre’s Morning Sky had been a gift from his grand-teacher.
A fully equipped Star Realm Battleship was in no way inferior in value to a Morning Star Witchcraft Artifact.
"Then we’ll just have to find another way."
Andre sighed and closed his projection. The others closed their projections one by one, and then the six of them began to accelerate, heading back to the Expedition Base.
But after his projection was closed, Andre took something out of his Secret Realm. This item was the so-called Morning Star Witchcraft Artifact.
It was a weapon Angelson had specially commissioned for himself when he became a Morning Star Great Wizard. It was named the Splitting Heavy Sword.
It looked like a Western sword, but its blade was much wider than a typical one, and its hilt was much shorter. It was a one-handed sword.
But now, a full eighty percent of the Witchcraft Arrays on the Splitting Heavy Sword were broken. Worse, the destroyed parts included the most crucial ones: the Energy Array and the Gravity Array.
All that remained was the Sharpness Technique array attached to the blade.
Because the blade was the most durable part of the entire sword, the Witchcraft Array for the Sharpness Technique was the only one that could survive.
The other Witchcraft Arrays were no longer usable, meaning the sword was effectively scrap.
Its only use was to have the remaining Witchcraft Arrays stripped off and be used as a Sword Embryo for reforging.
However, doing so would cause the Splitting Heavy Sword to drop below the Morning Star rank, so it was best not to reforge it unless absolutely necessary.
The reason Angelson had kept the Splitting Heavy Sword was for its sentimental value; it was the first Morning Star Witchcraft Artifact of his life.
This Splitting Heavy Sword had been with Angelson through countless battles, so even though it was now junk, he had kept it in his Secret Realm.
Andre looked at it for a while before returning the Splitting Heavy Sword to his own Secret Realm.
Right now, aside from its inherent sharpness, the sword had nothing else.
’I hope there’s a Morning Star Great Wizard in the Second Expeditionary Corps. Otherwise, this is just too frustrating!’
Andre sighed, then leaned back in his chair and quietly waited for the Morning Sky to return to the Expedition Base.
One month later, Andre was in the Expedition Base, constantly brewing Potions.
It was then that he truly understood the meaning of despair. All the Magic Plants he had harvested from the Magic Plant Island were now being turned into Potions in his hands.
But the sheer quantity of Magic Plants was overwhelming. He worked until his hands cramped every day, producing hundreds of Potions, yet the pile of Magic Plants seemed to never shrink.
’I should’ve learned the Clone Technique!’
Andre stared at the mountain of Magic Plants before him, his eyes filled with utter despair.
This was the first time he had ever truly felt despair. Before this, no matter how bad things got or how afraid he was, Andre had never felt hopeless.
But now, he was truly in despair. He was being worked to the point of despair!
"When is this ever going to end?" Beside him, Karina, Jessica, and Rote were helping him process the Magic Plants as he had requested.
The three of them were also complaining incessantly, especially Jessica, who had lost all her previous fantasies.
Originally, she had thought that with all the Potions brewed from these many Magic Plants, she could become a rich woman.
But now? A rich woman? She’d be lucky just to survive brewing all these Potions.
