Chapter 213: Chapter 213: Giant Serpent Trap

"You think this will actually work?" Karina asked, looking at Andre skeptically.

"The place we’re heading into is desolate. No one’s watching us, so of course this method will work."

Karina blinked at Andre’s words, but she didn’t ask any more questions.

The two of them then turned to face the Tomb of the Giant Elephant ahead.

The Tomb of the Giant Elephant looked unremarkable, like an ordinary hill.

But as their bodies gradually became suffused with the aura of the Giant Elephants, streaks of blue light emerged, forming ancient, savage Demon Patterns.

The Demon Patterns activated, and a passageway appeared before them. Andre and Karina promptly stepped inside.

The light vanished the moment they stepped through.

"So this is the Tomb of the Giant Elephant?"

Karina stared into the pitch-black expanse, the Tomb of the Giant Elephant illuminated only by a few wisps of greenish-white flame. Her eyes filled with utter astonishment.

"What did you expect? This is a graveyard for Giant Elephants, not the tomb of a human king. They weren’t going to build a Royal Palace underground."

After he spoke, Andre snapped his fingers, and a surge of Magic Power erupted from his body.

"What are you doing?" Karina demanded, hastily backing away a few steps as she watched him.

"Can you really search for anything in peace if I don’t deal with these wisps?"

Andre gestured with a finger toward the wisps that were drifting and wandering through the Tomb of the Giant Elephant.

These wisps were nothing like the ones they’d seen at the academy. These had been born from the bodies of Level 3 Wizards.

They were several times more ferocious than the ones from the academy.

If an ordinary wisp latched onto you, it wouldn’t be extinguished until it had burned off a layer of your flesh.

But if one of these wisps—born from the corpses of Giant Elephants—latched on, it wouldn’t go out until its victim was burned to ash.

As Andre spoke, Chaos Magic Power poured from his body, enveloping the wisps.

With a series of sizzling sounds, the wisps were corroded by Andre’s Chaos Magic Power, assimilated, and then absorbed back into his body.

"All clear now." Andre took the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel from his hand and tossed it upward. The Wheel transformed into a lamp, illuminating the entire Tomb of the Giant Elephant.

As the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel lit up the entire Tomb of the Giant Elephant, both Andre and Karina were left dumbstruck.

"How could this be...?" Karina stared in disbelief at the scene before them.

The scene before them was one of utter carnage. Bones littered the ground, flesh had decayed into a putrid sludge, and the residual blood from the Giant Elephants’ bodies had soaked the earth, forming a veritable Blood Pool.

"What happened here?" Karina refused to believe what she was seeing.

"Why else do you think the Giant Elephants were fighting those giant pythons?"

Andre immediately cast Multiple Wings of the Wind and flew into the air. Karina followed suit, casting her own and rising beside him.

Using the light from the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel, the two of them cautiously surveyed the Giant Elephant Tomb below.

"It looks like the giant pythons tunneled their way in here and devoured the Giant Elephants’ ancestors."

Andre recalled the scene he had witnessed with his Eye of Truth and instantly understood why the Giant Elephants were fighting the giant pythons to the death.

’They desecrated your ancestors’ graves. How could you not seek revenge?’

Other Magical Beasts might not have cared.

But elephant-type Magical Beasts have an especially strong sense of family, which made the scene they had witnessed earlier completely understandable.

"You’re saying the giant pythons did all this?" Karina blinked, looking at Andre in surprise. He nodded.

"But haven’t these Giant Elephants been dead for a long time?"

Karina looked at Andre, completely baffled.

As far as she knew, Snake-type Magical Beasts didn’t eat carrion.

"They have been dead for a long time. But the unique properties of this place can perfectly preserve the Giant Elephants’ Power, making the dead seem as if they had only just passed."

"Why else would the Giant Elephants’ descendants come to the Tomb of the Giant Elephant?"

Andre pointed to a nearby Giant Elephant skull. It looked almost as if it were still alive.

Karina shook her head and began to fly through the Giant Elephant Tomb, searching for anything that might still be of use.

Andre, however, hovered in the air, motionless.

His gaze, however, swept constantly across the area as he searched for the opening the giant snakes had used to enter the Giant Elephant Tomb.

As he searched for the entrance, he discovered that aside from the corpses of a few Giant Elephants that had been dead for too long, the others had been completely devoured by the giant pythons. They hadn’t even left the bones.

’I thought I’d be able to get some valuable materials, but I never expected this...’

Andre shook his head. Suddenly, he felt something was wrong. A hissing sound was approaching.

"Get back here!" Andre’s expression changed abruptly as he shouted to Karina.

With a flick of his wrists, he sent several bolts of Elemental Impact flying toward the source of the sound.

"What’s wrong?" Karina flew back at once when she heard Andre’s warning.

As the Elemental Impact detonated, there was a brief flash of light.

In that brief flare, the two of them gaped in shock.

In the light of the explosion, they saw another kind of giant snake clinging to the ceiling of the Tomb of the Giant Elephant, staring intently down at them.

These giant snakes were much smaller than the two-headed and three-headed giant pythons outside.

However, these giant snakes had a pair of claws growing from their underbellies.

It was these claws that allowed the giant snakes to cling firmly to the ceiling of the Giant Elephant Tomb.

"What kind of snakes are these? I’ve never seen anything like them."

Watching the giant snakes, Karina summoned her Magic Staff.

Andre recalled the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel, which then split into four parts that began to orbit around him and Karina.

"I don’t know, but they must be with those giant pythons from outside."

Andre narrowed his eyes, studying the giant snakes. According to his senses, their power levels varied greatly.

The strongest were on his level, comparable to a Level 2 Wizard at rank 50, while the weakest were on par with Karina, a Level 1 Wizard.

"If we don’t kill them, we probably won’t be able to leave the Tomb of the Giant Elephant. This is going to be a vicious battle!"

Karina watched a giant snake scuttling along the rock wall with its claws, then brandished her Magic Staff. She released an Arrow of Radiance that shot straight toward it.

The giant snake, seeing Karina’s attack, flicked its forked tongue.

The giant snake spat out a ball of pitch-black light, which flew to meet Karina’s Arrow of Radiance.

At the same time, Andre unleashed two more bolts of Elemental Impact.

This time, the Elemental Impacts struck two other giant snakes.
