Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters
Chapter 414 181: Judgment... (Part 3)"Normally, this stage will consume a great deal of a Wizard's time. To date, the fastest record within the school is one year and three months."
"Conditions for advancing to Advanced Mage: Each Origin Power sub-body must be imprinted with seven Magic Runes. The required Magic level is three, Spiritual Power level is three thousand, and Origin Power is two hundred."
Wei'en read the two short sentences of content three times. In the end, he couldn't hold back a muttered curse. "Damn it, they dare charge twenty gold pounds for just two sentences?!"
'No wonder Dean Josue didn't agree to provide the legacy knowledge for free earlier. This is just way too easy a way to make gold pounds!'
'Fuck, I wonder when that 50% discount will arrive. With my current 20% discount, I've lost out on several gold pounds.'
BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ...
"Hm? It's here."
Wei'en saw the blue and white box flashing and guessed that the "50% off shopping card" he had just been thinking about had arrived.
He opened the box, took out its contents, and, as was his custom, read the letter from the Ghost Soul School first.
"Dear Wei'en Loft, this is to inform you that your application to join the Feng Enliso Research Center has been approved. Upon confirmation by Josue Sexton Great Wizard, you are hereby formally appointed as the Director of Research Institute No. 66."
"Special rewards are hereby granted: 50% off all knowledge exchanges, one identification card, one set of new-style robes, and a staff forged from dragonbone."
"Additionally, as per school regulations, the newly appointed Director of the Research Institute must, after deciding on a research topic, submit a description of the research direction and its expected goals. For details, please contact your superior, Josue Sexton Great Wizard."
"On the path of knowledge, death is not the end. —Sheldon Foskett, Ghost Soul School Wizard Management Office."
Wei'en put down the letter and looked at the three items in his hands.
The identification card was similar to the one Amiditch had given him before, the one that designated him as the Shadow Group Leader. It was printed with his photo and his title: Director of Research Institute No. 66, Feng Enliso Research Center.
The new-style robes were the same as the ones Dean Josue wore—black, with the Ghost Soul emblem printed on the chest.
As for the Dragonbone Staff...
[Consumable Origin Power detected. Use Soul-Devouring Magic?]
'Dragonbone... and it still has residual Origin Power that can be devoured?'
'But what do the dragons of this world look like?'
Wei'en looked at the fifteen-centimeter staff in his hand. It was shaped like a short magic staff, silvery-white all over, and polished to a smooth, rounded finish. The body of the staff was etched with various patterns, giving it an exquisite appearance.
He toyed with it for a moment. It felt good in his hand. He decided to keep it as a memento. 'Forget it. Something this small probably doesn't have much Origin Power anyway.'
With that thought, Wei'en stored the items in his Space Ring and went back to studying the exchange list.
Even though he now had the 50% discount, looking at the prices on the list still made him feel the pinch.
Four Origin Power sub-bodies meant he needed to exchange for eight spells in total.
Plus the Undead Creatures he'd promised to provide for Shawa, and the materials for making Mechanical Puppets.
Then there were the materials he needed for his own Magic Potions, especially Enlightenment Potions and Healing Potions, both of which he used frequently.
After calculating everything, three thousand gold pounds wasn't nearly enough...
Wei'en considered for a moment and decided to postpone his advancement to Advanced Mage. For one, he didn't have enough gold pounds to exchange for suitable Magic Scrolls. For another, he didn't have many survival points left and wasn't certain he could raise all the newly learned spells to level three.
In the end, he spent the three thousand gold pounds on a pile of materials and some zombies.
He didn't know how many Undead Creatures Shawa needed, so he only exchanged for twenty Captain-level and two Director-level zombies. Even if Shawa couldn't devour that many, he could use them for his research projects, conducting experiments on undead and mechanical modification.
Wei'en looked at the special spatial equipment containing the zombies, thought for a moment, and decided to let one out to have a look.
It was also while exchanging for these Undead Creatures that he discovered a new way to make money: selling Undead Creatures.
This was the most common method used by most Undead Wizards of the Ghost Soul School. It was zero-cost and safe.
The method was to summon an Undead Creature and then break the contract.
The only drawback was that, supposedly, if you did this too many times, you would be marked by certain Undead Creatures from the Undead World and face their ostracism or even be hunted down.
Of course, there were solutions—advancing one's Wizard level or increasing one's Spiritual Power.
This would expand the range of summonable Undead Creatures, and there were always a few clueless, shut-in undead for them to choose from.
"Hrr..."
The moment the male human zombie was released, its lips twitched upon seeing Wei'en, revealing two sharp teeth in a clear display of hostility. However, its body was bound by several special ropes, rendering it immobile, and its mouth was gagged, muffling any sound.
"Tsk."
After looking the zombie up and down, Wei'en came to a clear understanding of the "perverted experiments" Shawa had mentioned before.
'Just what kind of sick-minded Wizard gets their kicks rubbing up against a zombie like this?'
'Seriously, what a pervert!'
Wei'en quickly stored the zombie away again, worried that if he looked at it for a second longer, he wouldn't be able to resist putting it out of its misery.
'Right, time to make some money.'
Other than making money by brewing Magic Potions, he couldn't think of anything else to do for now...
Just as Wei'en took out a dose of Suppression Potion and was about to place it in the crucible to begin the fusion process, the workshop door was pushed open.
"Clelia?"
"What, are you surprised to see me?" Clelia walked in, dressed in a long black gown. She was carrying several rolls of parchment that looked quite old.
