Era Relics?
"Got the intel on the Twilight Secret Cultivators?"
"Of course. With our status, it was a piece of cake."
Wei'en glanced at the mantel clock. Four-thirty. 'Piece of cake, and it still took them three hours...'
Clelia placed the parchment on the workbench, her expression turning plaintive. "I did all this work for you. How are you going to thank me?"
Wei'en said irritably, "How about you start by fixing that slurred speech of yours!"
"You don't like it?"
"Mm."
"You—" Clelia's eyes widened. She reached out and pinched him. "You don't have this attitude when you need my help."
"Alright, alright. Whatever you want as a thank-you, Lord of Thousand Faces, just name it." Wei'en surrendered. He really did need this intelligence.
"That's more like it~" Clelia hmphed, then pointed to the Era Relics and reminded him, "When Menor gave these to me, he said to make sure you destroy them after you're done reading."
"Hm? You didn't read them?"
"The Gonzalez language... I can't understand that crap!"
Wei'en: "..."
He'd almost forgotten Clelia's slacker trait.
"I told you to study the Gonzalez language with Shawa and the others before, but you weren't willing. See the downside now?"
Clelia sat on the workbench, shot him a glare, then turned her head away, looking like she wanted nothing more to do with him.
Resigned, Wei'en had no choice but to temporarily set aside his plans for making the Magic Potion. He took a piece of parchment and, carefully using his Spiritual Power to coat his hands, gently unrolled it.
"Did Menor say anything?"
"Not much, hm..." Clelia recalled that bastard's probing and curled her lip. "He said those people wrapped in bandages are from something called the Dusk Sect. They're very dangerous and very crazy."
"Also, they're completely at odds with our Eternal Life Association. Their shadow is behind a lot of disasters."
"Oh."
Wei'en nodded, not doubting for a second the danger and destructive power of the Twilight Secret Cultivators.
'They were capable of setting up a scheme to harvest killing intent across an entire sea region. What wouldn't they do, or what wouldn't they dare to do?'
"One more thing. Menor warned us not to provoke them if we can help it. He said they have some bizarre ability to turn illusions into reality."
Clelia saw Wei'en's eyes glued to the parchment, his expression extremely serious. She subconsciously licked her lips. 'This look is his most charming.' "Are you even listening to me?"
"Hang on, let me finish reading this..."
Wei'en looked at the Gonzalez script on the relic. Fortunately, there were no obscure phrases, and he easily translated the contents.
'From the Fourth Era?'
"Late in the Fourth Era, after a brief clash with the Dusk Sect, it can be confirmed that the space-time fracture that appeared in the Misulaka City State was their doing."
"Although I and the Elders have no idea how they did it, the current situation does not permit any further delay. I must report this matter to the Red Moon Church as quickly as possible. After all, on the Western Continent, the only ones who can stop them are those bastards who sold their souls to the Red Moon."
"We could have originally hoped for help from the Wizards of the Blood Spirit School and the Mechanical School, but unfortunately, those disgusting freaks wrapped in tattered cloth have already blocked that path."
"Damn it. The two schools have fundamentally different systems of knowledge, so why were they fighting over the title 'King of Modification'? They deserved to have the bone-rattlers from the Ghost Soul School exploit their weakness and steal a vast amount of their legacy knowledge."
"Alas, I hope we can successfully stop the Dusk Sect's plan this time. Otherwise, the Misulaka City State, the pearl of the Western Continent, may be completely wiped from existence."
Hmm?
Wei'en put down the relic and murmured, "Space-time fracture... Fuck. What kind of conceptual ability is that? Or am I misunderstanding something?"
'And they instigated the conflict between the Blood Spirit School and the Mechanical School... The Twilight Secret Cultivators are more resourceful than he'd imagined. As for the Ghost Soul School stealing their legacy knowledge, he subconsciously ignored that part. Without that stolen legacy knowledge, how would he have his current driver and Red Heart? Seriously, those old predecessors... if you're going to steal, at least steal everything...'
"What?" Clelia had been admiring his side profile and didn't quite hear what he said.
"Nothing."
Wei'en shook his head, picked up the second piece of parchment, and continued reading.
"Hmph~ You don't even..."
Before she could finish, Clelia's body stiffened. The seductive expression on her face froze instantly as a golden light shot out from her body.
Huh?!
Wei'en instinctively tilted his head, and the light grazed past his ear.
BOOM!
The entire theater space was rocked by a violent tremor.
[You have been attacked by Huberto Watson but have not sustained any damage. Evaluation: A big one has arrived. I'd advise you to keep your distance, but you should probably first check if the little lady in front of you can be saved... Special Reward: Survival Points +100.]
"Clelia!?"
Clelia's mouth fell slightly open, and crimson blood sprayed out. "Judg—"
