Wizard: I Have a Cultivation System

Chapter 591 - 34: Celestial Phenomenon Law

Chapter 591: Chapter 34: Celestial Phenomenon Law

Or perhaps it was detected, but dismissed as some sort of brief, natural disturbance?

Murphy wasn’t sure.

But he knew he couldn’t risk it again.

If it happened again and the Magic Net locked onto him, there could be serious consequences.

’If only I had the Celestial Phenomenon Law.’

In the realm of the Golden Core, one mastered far more than just the Law that formed the gravitational trap. As one’s Cultivation advanced, the Golden Core could comprehend all sorts of other Laws.

These Laws were fundamentally derived from Dao Patterns.

The Celestial Phenomenon Law, for instance, was a super-structure of Dao Patterns, a composite formed from a series of Celestial Phenomenon Dao Patterns through complex arrangements and combinations.

If he possessed the Celestial Phenomenon Law, even just a preliminary understanding of it would be enough to completely disguise the Energy Fluctuations from the Source Sea as natural phenomena.

Even if the Mind Furnace drew a massive amount of Energy, the Celestial Phenomenon Law could make it appear as a spontaneous, normal flow of Energy within the world.

But the problem was, Murphy didn’t even have the Yin-Yang Law yet.

That was the foundational Law for condensing a Golden Core.

He was using the Mind Furnace in the first place to deduce the Yin-Yang Law, condense a Golden Core, and thereby increase his strength.

But now, he couldn’t even attempt to deduce the Yin-Yang Law.

The disturbance created by deducing the Yin-Yang Law would be enough to alert the Magic Net.

Let alone deducing the far more complex Celestial Phenomenon Law.

He couldn’t even manage the lesser Laws under the Celestial Phenomenon Law, such as the Thunder Law, the Rain and Dew Law, or the Wind and Cloud Law.

Those Laws, while simpler than the Celestial Phenomenon Law, still required a massive amount of Energy to deduce.

They would also produce fluctuations that he couldn’t conceal.

To quickly comprehend a Law, one had to deduce it.

But deduction required the Mind Furnace.

Using the Mind Furnace required drawing Energy from the Source Sea.

And that meant risking detection by the Magic Net.

It was a vicious cycle with almost no solution.

’I still have to go to the Nightmare World,’ Murphy thought.

As for why he was so insistent on entering the Nightmare World?

It was naturally related to his other self. Although the two of them couldn’t communicate in real-time, they shared a common system.

When that other self completed its task and obtained Celestial Craftsmanship "Slightly Accomplished" and Inner Alchemy Golden Core "Initial Glimpse," that knowledge was synchronized deep within his own consciousness.

He had also seen the "Profound Origin Nine Refinements Spirit Forging Chapter."

More importantly, the changes in that other self had somehow affected him over here, even though their connection should have been severed.

It had caused him to experience a strange phenomenon back in the sewers.

And all these changes originated from the Nightmare World.

What his other self had experienced there, Murphy had no way of knowing.

But he knew it might hold what he needed.

After all, in the New Realm as it was, his hands were tied. No matter what, he had to go there himself.

...

「Evening.」

The Sun had completely set, leaving only the last dark red afterglow on the horizon.

The light in the courtyard grew dim, and the flowering trees in the corner were reduced to vague silhouettes in the twilight.

Murphy sat in a wicker chair, his eyes closed, seeming to merge with the dusk.

Suddenly, footsteps sounded from the courtyard gate.

Rodrick’s figure appeared at the entrance.

He wore his usual dark gray formal suit, his hair impeccably combed. But the expression on his face was no longer that of an arrogant First-Level Wizard who ordered Anvil around, but that of a cautious Attendant, terrified of making a mistake.

He stopped at the courtyard gate and bowed slightly.

"My lord."

Murphy opened his eyes and looked at him.

Rodrick hurriedly said, "My lord, I have prepared what you requested."

Murphy stood up without a word and simply walked toward the courtyard gate.

Rodrick stepped aside to let him pass. Only after Murphy had left the courtyard did he follow half a step behind, matching his every move.

The two of them crossed the dim street and entered Rodrick’s three-story villa.

The butler was already waiting at the door. Upon seeing Murphy, he immediately bowed deeply, not daring to lift his head.

Rodrick waved his hand, and the butler silently withdrew.

Rodrick led Murphy through the foyer, not up the stairs, but toward an inconspicuous little door beside the staircase.

Pushing the door open revealed a stone staircase leading down.

Dim wall sconces were embedded in the walls on either side, casting flickering light and shadow down the narrow passage.

They descended, one after the other.

The sound of their footsteps echoed in the narrow passage, a series of muffled yet clear thuds.

After about half a minute of walking, the way ahead suddenly opened up.

It was a basement, not very large, about thirty square meters.

The surrounding walls were covered in complex runes that pulsed with a faint blue light in the dimness, seeming to breathe as they flickered in and out of existence.

In the center of the floor was an Array outlined with some kind of silver metal.

The Array was exceedingly complex, with concentric circles layered one over another. At its very center was the pattern of a hexagram.

On each of the six points of the hexagram rested a crystal the size of a fist.

The crystals were all different colors.

Crimson, deep blue, emerald green, bright yellow, pure white, and jet black.

Each one glowed faintly, flashing in time with the flickering runes.

Scattered around the edge of the Array were all sorts of strange materials.

There were the bones of unknown creatures, dried herbs, Crystal Bottles filled with various colored liquids, metal plates covered in runes, and some other things Murphy couldn’t name.

Rodrick walked over to the side of the Array and stood respectfully.

"My lord, this is the passage I normally use to enter the Nightmare World."

Murphy’s gaze swept over the Array on the floor, then settled on the crystals.

"What are these?"

Rodrick froze for a moment.

He looked up at Murphy, a flicker of unconcealable confusion in his eyes.

’Isn’t my lord... a Third-Level Wizard?’

’How could a Third-Level Wizard not recognize this?’

The moment this thought surfaced in his mind, it was as if something invisible gently wiped it away, leaving him completely unconcerned.

Only a single thought remained: perhaps his lord was testing him to see if he had prepared everything diligently.

So, Rodrick answered respectfully,

"My lord, this is a teleportation Array. Its purpose is to establish a stable anchor between the Material Realm and the Nightmare World, allowing a caster to use this anchor to enter the shallow layers of the Nightmare World."

He pointed to the crystals on the six points of the hexagram.

"These six crystals are Elemental Crystals. They correspond to the six basic elements: earth, water, fire, wind, positive, and negative. Their function is to balance the Array’s Energy flow and prevent erosion from the Chaotic Energy of the Nightmare World during transit."

He then pointed to the materials scattered around the edge of the Array.

"These are offerings. The Nightmare World is the nightmare of a dead Divine Spirit, a fractured dreamscape where the rules are chaotic. To gain a foothold there, one must pay a price. These offerings are used to purchase an ’entry ticket,’ so to speak."

Murphy listened and nodded slightly.

Rodrick continued, "But rest assured, my lord. This Array is very stable. I have used it many times without any issues. After you enter, you will appear in the area I usually explore. It’s in the shallow layers of the Nightmare World and is relatively safe."

Murphy said, "Then begin."

Rodrick bowed. "Yes, my lord."

He walked to the side of the Array, took a deep breath, and began to chant the Spell.

The Spell was obscure and difficult to understand. Its syllables were strange, each word sounding as if it were being squeezed from the depths of his throat.

As he chanted the Spell, ripples appeared on the Source Sea, and the runes on the Array began to flash violently. The blue light flickered on and off, its frequency increasing rapidly.

The six Elemental Crystals lit up simultaneously, their six colored lights weaving together to form a rotating halo in the center of the Array.

The halo grew larger and brighter, until finally—

HUM!

A low hum resounded.

In the center of the Array, the halo abruptly expanded, transforming into an upright, oval-shaped portal of light.

The portal’s surface was as smooth as a mirror, yet it reflected no images.

Only countless streams of interwoven, colored light swirled slowly across its face, like the shimmering surface of a lake.

Rodrick stopped chanting, fine beads of sweat dotting his forehead.

He turned, took a slight gasp of air, and bowed deeply to Murphy.

"My lord, the passage is open. Within lies the Nightmare World."
