Wizard: My Skills Can Infinitely Break Through
Chapter 379 - 308: Level Five Mother, Panel’s ProwessIan stood in the darkness, unmoving.
The sound of breathing echoed from the depths of the room—labored, thick, and punctuated by a gurgle like boiling liquid.
It was Titus’s breathing.
An inky-black mist now filled the entire bedroom, plunging the surroundings into darkness.
But to Ian’s Spiritual Perception, everything was blindingly clear.
On the bed, the once-dignified Clan Leader now resembled a human skin, stretched and burst open from within.
Dark purple Tentacles pushed out from beneath his skin—not one or two, but hundreds, even thousands of them.
They writhed slowly in the air, like kelp in the deep sea, or like sacrifices in some profane ritual.
The surface of each Tentacle was covered in tiny, dense suckers. A viscous, dark liquid oozed from their edges.
Wherever the liquid dripped, it corroded fist-sized pits into the Stone Slab floor, which sizzled and smoked.
Silvery-white chains bound the twisted form.
The chains’ light had dimmed until it was nearly transparent, and they were crawling with black, flying Insects.
These Insects were larger than the ones outside the door, about the size of a fingernail. Their mouthparts frantically gnawed at the Runes on the chains.
With every bite, the chains dimmed further, and the flying Insects swelled in size.
Some of the flying Insects had already grown to the size of walnuts, their abdomens distended.
The vibration of their wings produced a piercing shriek, like the cry of an infant.
"Ian..."
Gaga’s voice came through the Soul Link, tight with tension.
The little one was standing guard outside the door, but through their shared vision, it could clearly perceive everything inside the room.
"This thing... is so disgusting..."
Ian didn’t respond.
His gaze passed over the writhing Tentacles and landed on Titus’s face.
The face was twisted beyond human recognition. Its eyes were stretched wide open, the pupils gone.
All that remained were two dark purple vortexes, spinning slowly in their sockets.
Its mouth hung open at an impossible angle, the jaw clearly dislocated. With every breath, an inky-black vapor surged from the depths of its throat.
Deep within those vortexes, something writhed with endless madness.
Ian captured an extremely faint fluctuation.
It was the last trace of "Titus Justice’s" consciousness.
It was like an oil lamp in a raging storm, on the verge of being extinguished at any moment.
’He can still be saved.’ Ian made his assessment.
He lifted his foot and took another step forward.
The instant his foot landed.
HISS!
The inky-black mist filling the room suddenly roiled, like a great beast startled from its slumber!
Countless black flying Insects simultaneously stopped gnawing on the chains. Thousands upon thousands of compound eyes swiveled in unison to face Ian.
The writhing Tentacles on the bed, like a nest of snakes scenting blood, all whipped toward the doorway.
Their suckers gaped open, revealing rings of fine, sharp teeth within.
"Human..."
"Wizard..."
"Fresh flesh and blood..."
Innumerable voices overlapped, emanating from within the Tentacles—sharp, cloyingly sweet, and carrying a nauseating hiss.
Ian ignored them and continued to walk forward.
VMMMM!
A silvery-white light radiated from him.
The [Space-Time Curvature Field] unfurled at full power.
Within a fifty-meter radius, the very geometry of space began to warp.
The flight paths of the black flying Insects lunging at him were suddenly thrown off course.
They beat their wings desperately and snapped their mouthparts in a frenzy, but their bodies began to circle uncontrollably.
Like tops spun by an invisible hand, they orbited Ian at a five-meter radius, tracing one perfect circle after another.
They flew faster and faster, closer and closer, until at last...
POP!
Countless Rice Grain-sized flying Insects smashed into each other, exploding into a fine black powder.
Before the powder could even begin to fall, the light of a second Star Orbit cascaded down.
[Purification Orbit].
Pure Starlight projected from Ian’s Sea of Spirit, forming a five-meter-diameter silver halo around him.
The halo rotated slowly, imbued with the rhythm of ancient, orbiting stars.
The instant the Starlight touched the black powder, the powder simply vanished.
Not destroyed, not incinerated, but... simply erased.
As if it had never existed in the first place.
"HISSS!"
The mass of Tentacles on the bed let out a piercing shriek.
The writhing Tentacles jerked back violently, like fingers touching a hot stove.
But Ian did not stop.
A third step, a fourth, a fifth...
With each step, the range of the warped field pushed forward another meter.
The radius of the enveloping Purification Starlight expanded by another meter.
The black mist parted before him, like the Red Sea before Moses.
The swarms of flying Insects fled in a frenzy, but they could not escape the Gravity of the curvature field. They were trapped, forced to spin along invisible tracks, collide, and face Annihilation.
Three breaths later, Ian stood before the bed.
He was less than two meters from Titus.
The Tentacles writhed right before his eyes. He could clearly see the fine texture on their surfaces and smell the putrid stench of the liquid oozing from their suckers.
But all the Tentacles stopped a meter away from Ian.
It wasn’t that they didn’t want to attack—they simply couldn’t reach him.
The curvature field had completely warped the geometry of the space between them.
When a Tentacle extended forward, it would involuntarily veer left, only to then automatically swerve right.
No matter how they writhed, they could not touch Ian, who was standing right there.
’Level Four Contamination...’
Ian stared at the Tentacles, and deep within his pupils, three Star Orbits slowly rotated.
’So, it has gained sentience, as I thought.’
As soon as the thought crossed his mind, the mass of Tentacles suddenly went rigid.
Then, all the Tentacles turned in unison, facing the same direction.
The northeast corner of the room—the wall behind a bookshelf.
Something was breathing there.
Ian’s Spiritual Power swept over the area in an instant, his pupils constricting.
’Hm? This damn thing wasn’t here before,’ he thought.
Embedded within the wall was a thumb-sized, dark purple crystal.
The crystal’s surface was covered in cracks. Deep within them, a liquid darkness flowed.
With each pulse of light, the mass of Tentacles on the bed squirmed in unison.
