Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree
Chapter 1006 - 845: Eliminating the Evil GodSalonos’s figure flickered, transforming into a stream of shadow that swept from under the Demon God’s feet, stepping into mid-air and smashing onto the obsidian ground, creating a footprint that reached tens of meters deep, with the edges of the rock shattering into a spider-web pattern, the cracks extending hundreds of meters around.
The shockwave spread along the bottom of the ravine, scattering all the rubble and dead wood, even causing rocks on the cliffs hundreds of meters away to fall.
Salonos reformed its figure hundreds of meters away, shadows surged from its feet like a tide, condensing into eight thick shadow tentacles that spread out from its back, whipping towards the Demon God like eight giant whips.
The Demon God did not dodge, the eight tentacles struck against its chest’s dark gold armor, exploding into sparks of interwoven dark purple and dark gold, the dark gold patterns on the armor merely flickered slightly before stabilizing again, not leaving even a single crack.
The Demon God waved its large hand, grabbing one of the tentacles and forcefully yanking Salonos over, while the other hand clenched into a fist and smashed towards its face.
Salonos urgently condensed a shadow heavy shield in front of itself, the clash of fist and shield resonated throughout the ravine, uprooting the remaining trees on the cliff sides.
Salonos, together with its heavy shield, was punched away, trailing a dark purple arc in the air, crashing through several rock walls before coming to a halt.
The Duke transformed into a stream of four-color light at the moment the Demon God made a move, darting to the top of the ravine cliff, looking down at the entire battlefield from above.
Four-color divine light surged around him, metallic yellow sand transformed into spears of four-color light at his side, then rapidly formed before shooting towards Salonos at a speed far exceeding sound.
Every spear that landed exploded into a large pit, the pit wall rocks eroded by the four-color divine light into a glazed composite destruction mark.
Salonos maneuvered between the Demon God’s heavy fists and the Duke’s spears.
Its usage of shadow rules indeed surpassed the ordinary tier three high stage, several times the Duke’s spears clearly locked onto its trajectory, yet it managed to anticipate and transform into shadow, dispersing and re-condensing several meters away.
When the Demon God’s heavy fists struck it, it no longer resisted head-on, instead buffering the impact with layers of shadows.
By now, the shadows on its body had thinned significantly, but there was no trace of retreat in those burning dark purple eyes.
It realized that this four-color divine light was an exceptionally remarkable technique, sure to exhaust a lot.
And the Duke was just a Level 3 Initial Stage wizard, the magic power to sustain both the four-color divine light and the True Demon Descent is ultimately limited.
There was no need to win, just to wait.
Wait until the Duke’s magic power runs out, that would be its moment to strike back.
Salonos evaded a heavy punch from the Demon God, suddenly losing track of the Duke within its perception range.
It whirled around, seeing the Duke standing on a fractured rock platform not far away, his right hand spread open, palm displaying a continuously rotating four-color light sphere.
The light sphere was small, only the size of a fist, but the four-color divine light inside was compressed to the extreme—dark red, ink black, pale gold, earth yellow no longer flowed and intertwined but were forcibly compressed into a near white four-color light point, space around it slightly distorted, emitting a faint humming.
Salonos’s dark purple pupils contracted for the first time, sensing immense threat.
Previous attacks used the four-color divine light as an adjunct to the yellow sand weapon, but this light sphere was not attached to any medium—it was pure, highly compressed four-color rule fusion.
The Duke had drawn on the last batch of yellow sand stored in the Light God Court’s magic metal reserve, the sand rapidly rotating around him, forming a tightening sand ring that wrapped the four-color light sphere at its core.
Then, the sand ring suddenly expanded outward, launching the four-color light sphere like a cannonball.
Salonos transformed into shadow, retreating swiftly while layering shadow barriers ahead.
The first layer was a solidified, obsidian-like solid shadow; the second layer, a rapidly spinning shadow vortex; the third layer, a rule shield with ghostly green flames burning.
It gambled that, though stronger than before, the Duke’s strike still couldn’t breach its demigod level rule usage-built triple defense.
The four-color light sphere struck the first layer solid shadow, the shadow barrier melted away as a red-hot iron ball crashing into ice.
It hit the second layer shadow vortex, which was torn apart by the same-source shadow rule of the four-color divine light, the vortex’s structure collapsing from the inside.
After striking the third layer rule shield, Salonos burned nearly one-third of its shadow origin projection to reinforce this layer, the shield’s flames desperately licking the light sphere’s shell, trying to break the fusion structure of the four rules.
But the internal energy state of the four-color divine light sphere had already surpassed conventional rule system descriptions.
The shield was momentarily held back but then pierced from the center by the light sphere, Salonos looked down at its chest, a fist-sized hole penetrating from chest to back, with no blood or shadow energy leaking, just a faint circle of four-color halo slowly expanding, like a brand impression left by a branding iron.
The four-color light sphere continued flying forward after piercing its body, striking into the ravine cliff behind, exploding into a deep, bottomless hole, within which the four-color light repeatedly circulated, layer by layer eroding the surrounding rock.
Salonos stood still, looking down at the chest’s expanding four-color imprint, dark purple flames flickered in its eyes before slowly dimming.
It raised its head, returning its gaze to the Duke, its cracked mouth near opening as if trying to speak.
But before it could speak, the four-color imprint on its chest suddenly expanded, countless strands of four-color light extending from the edge, rapidly spreading over its body, enveloping it in a contracting four-color light web.
Salonos’s shadow form began to disintegrate, first finger joints dissipating segment by segment, then limbs, then torso.
In its final moment before complete disappearance, it fixed its fading dark purple eyes on the Duke, squeezing out a low, indistinct growl.
Probably a curse at the wizard or a lament at its own bad luck.
The Duke stood still, not immediately retracting the yellow sand around him.
His spiritual power spread like a fine net, sweeping inch by inch across the ravine bottom.
Every crack on the cliff, every puddle of shadow residue on the ground, every particle of shadow energy still hovering in the air, all were included in the perception range.
Salonos’s projection indeed completely dispersed, leaving not a single soul fragment.
The attack from the condensed four-color divine light dismantled its core structure from rule level, this kind of vanishment is irreversible unless its main body is willing to pay a great price to project descent again, but considering Salonos’s earlier caution and fear of the Wizard Plane, it wouldn’t risk that again any time soon.
After confirming no remaining threats, the Duke retrieved the sand, dismantled the Demon God projection, heading deeper into the cave.
He realized he was too cautious and underestimated the power of the four-color divine light.
Salonos’s projection couldn’t be considered a typical tier three high stage; its main body was so strong that even a tier three high stage projection used rules in ways unparalleled by ordinary tier three.
But such an enemy was utterly incapable of resisting the four-color divine light.
The ravine bottom returned to silence, with only the occasional sound of stones tumbling down from the cliff.
