Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree
Chapter 1005 - 845: Resolving the Evil GodSalonos’s eyes, burning with dark purple flames, suddenly burst with light as his words fell. The obsidian floor beneath his feet exploded outward as cracks spread like living creatures up the rock wall, causing the entire cavern to violently shake.
The shadow energy permeating the air was instantly drained, condensing into thousands of pitch-black spears as thick as arms, all pointing at Duke.
This was not the kind of tentacle attack Dominic would shoot from his sleeves, but rather an attack composed directly by Salonos’s core will commanding the surrounding shadow rules.
No spells or hand gestures were needed, no casting medium required, purely driving the rules by will.
Duke did not retreat. He stepped forward with his right foot, and the metallic yellow sand swirling around him formed a silent command, erecting an arched sand wall several meters high in front of him.
Every grain of sand was cloaked in four-color divine light, with dark red, ink black, pale gold, and earthy yellow flowing and surging across the sand particles, illuminating the entire wall like a radiant nebula.
The moment the shadow spears struck the sand wall, the shadow rules at the tips collided fiercely with the four-color divine light on the surface, erupting into a dazzling blast of dark purple and four-color interwoven shockwaves.
Under the crushing force of the four-color divine light, the spears shattered inch by inch from the tips, with shadow fragments flying like a torrential downpour, creating countless tiny holes in the cavern floor, yet the sand wall itself remained unmoved.
Salonos tilted his head, slowly splitting that crevice-like mouth, seemingly surprised by Duke’s ability to easily block the strike.
He also noticed the four-color divine light, instinctively developing a certain apprehension toward it.
Salonos’s right hand suddenly spread its fingers wide, as five drops of liquid shadow condensed at the conical spikes on the fingertips simultaneously fell, causing ripples of shadow to spread rapidly across the ground as if pebbles had been thrown into water.
Wherever the ripples passed, the obsidian floor was eroded into a viscous black quagmire, from which countless hands made of liquid shadow emerged, with fingers twisted like dead branches, reaching for Duke’s ankles from all directions.
Meanwhile, Salonos raised his left hand upward, shattering every stalactite suspended at the cavern’s top. Enveloped by shadow energy mid-air, they transformed into hundreds of pitch-black heavy hammers, set to rain down upon Duke from above.
Duke clasped his hands together, and the metallic yellow sand surrounding him expanded outward from his center, sweeping like a flood unleashed, carrying four-color divine light across the space.
The shadow hands extending from the quagmire were shattered by the sand waves, and the descending heavy hammers were ground into powder by the rapidly rotating sand particles before they reached Duke’s head.
The metallic yellow sand was not merely a defense; it was a weapon in itself, blending offensive and defensive capabilities.
Salonos did not pause, his hands moving again as shadows along the cavern walls began to squirm, with each crevice spewing out thick shadows, coalescing into a continuously surging black tide.
The tide formed diverse shadow creatures, some humanoid, wielding shadow long blades, others beast-like, on all fours, with mouths dripping corrosive saliva; some bore no fixed shape, simply a mass of constantly twisting tentacles, edged with green flames.
These creatures simultaneously charged at Duke from all directions.
With a thought, Duke manifested a space rift above.
The entire cavern floor quaked violently as a force unlike any known energy in the Oracle Plane erupted from the rift.
"Giant Divine Soldier Summoning—True Demon Descent!"
The space within the rift was torn apart by a raging energy from the inside.
A vast amount of metallic yellow sand ascended instantly, quickly forming the demon god’s body, even before the demon god’s phantom truly descended, having already formed within the rift.
A gigantic dark golden hand, larger than a city gate, reached from the rift, its fingers grasping the rift edges, with metal lines on the knuckles flowing with dark golden light like living things.
The giant hand pushed forcefully, extracting a whole arm from the rift, followed by the shoulder, torso, and head.
When it fully stood, its head shattered the cavern’s ceiling, while shattered stalactites and rock shards rained down like a storm from hundreds of meters high.
A dark golden body, over three hundred meters tall, stood at the rift’s base, its head towering above the cliffs on either side of the gorge, the dark gold armor on its shoulders and back reflecting a cold, eerie light under the gray-white sky.
Inside its eye sockets burned two solid flames of dark golden soul fire, with every breath releasing embers of dark golden flame from its nose and mouth.
The true demon descent, a trait Duke unlocked upon training the summoning of the Giant Divine Soldier to full level.
Using sand that had devoured magic metal as sacrifice and vessel, the summoned being was no longer a demon god phantom, but a projection avatar with a tangible form.
However, Duke did not sacrifice much metallic yellow sand, consuming only about three hundred tons. Thus, the summoned demon god projection avatar’s power was only roughly at Level 3 Middle Stage.
The demon god lowered its gaze to the ravine floor, its soul fire locking onto the dark purple figure whose limbs were excessively long and whose skin resembled asphalt.
It did not roar but simply lifted a foot as large as a house, suddenly stomping toward Salonos’s location.
The wind pressure from the falling foot swept all the debris off the cliff walls, compressing the shadow energy beneath until it emitted sharp explosions.
