Andre looked up at the giant statue, his expression grave.
This Wizard of the Black Sail summoned such a thing with just a breath.
Duke’s power exceeded Andre’s expectations, but he also understood at this moment why Duke could rank fifth in the Illusion Tower.
The Giant Divine Soldier lifted its right foot and took a step forward.
Boom—!!
The entire valley trembled.
A bottomless fissure split the ground, stretching from the foot of the statue to the mouth of the valley.
The two Mechanical Wizards staggered back in shock, nearly falling into the fissure.
Andre’s wings flapped fiercely, barely stabilizing his figure.
The Giant Divine Soldier lifted its right hand, clenched its fingers into a fist, and smashed it down towards the valley floor.
The fist, like a small mountain, descended with a piercing howl, crashing down towards Andre and the others’ heads.
Andre retreated violently, wings flapping furiously, narrowly avoiding the direct blow.
But the wind from the punch grazed his shoulder, sending him flying, crashing heavily against the cliff wall.
His scale armor shattered, blood splattering.
The two Mechanical Wizards weren’t as quick to react.
The shadow of the fist covered them.
The wizard controlling metal wires attempted to wrap the statue’s arm with threads, but as soon as they touched the fist, they shattered into countless pieces.
The melee wizard crossed his arms, and ten metal blades simultaneously erupted with their strongest arcs, trying to withstand the blow.
Boom—!!
The fist smashed into the ground, stones and dust shooting skyward, engulfing the entire valley in smoke.
When the dust settled, there was a huge pit on the ground, several meters deep.
The melee wizard lay at the bottom of the pit, bloodied, with his arms’ metal bones completely shattered, arcs coursing chaotically over him, crackling.
He struggled to rise, but the Six-Ring Badge suddenly lit up, a golden light enveloping him entirely.
This was the examination’s protection mechanism, automatically triggering a teleport when a candidate received fatal damage.
The light grew brighter, his figure blurred within it, eventually transforming into countless points of light, dissipating into the air.
Eliminated.
The wizard controlling metal wires turned pale, attempting to flee.
But the Giant Divine Soldier’s other hand was already reaching out, its massive palm slapping him down like a fly.
Boom!!
The ground trembled again.
As the statue lifted its palm, that wizard lay in a shallow human-shaped pit, his bones shattered, blood flowing from his seven orifices.
A golden light shone from him, enveloping him entirely.
He struggled to say something, but the light consumed him, transforming into points of light and vanishing.
Both Mechanical Wizards were eliminated, one after the other.
Andre struggled to get up from the cliff wall, half his body drenched in blood.
His left wing was broken, hanging behind him like a rag.
Three faces twisted simultaneously, the left face snarling, the vertical eye on the right spinning madly, the scarlet vertical pupil on the front staring fixedly at Duke.
The divine soldier turned, facing him.
In the valley, the three hundred-meter-high statue confronted the five-meter-high bloodline true form.
Duke stood at the statue’s foot, surrounded by dark golden sand flows, still unmoving.
He merely looked up at Andre.
Andre’s chest heaved violently, blood dripping from the gaps in his scale armor.
His wings were unable to unfold, a section of the bone blade on his tail was broken, and his three faces were full of scars, yet he did not retreat.
The Giant Divine Soldier raised its fist.
Andre opened his mouth, letting out a hoarse roar, pouncing towards Duke.
His speed was much slower than before, but his determination was fiercer than ever.
As the divine soldier’s fist descended, Andre angled his body, the wind from the punch grazed him, sending him flying again.
He rolled several times on the ground, struggling to rise and continued his charge.
The Giant Soldier’s second punch fell, he barely dodged, but the wind tore open the scales on his back, blood gushing out.
Kneeling on the ground, gasping heavily, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth.
He looked up at Duke.
Duke still stood at the statue’s foot, the sand flows around him gently swirling, eyes devoid of emotion.
Andre’s mouth twitched, not out of anger or humiliation, but something deeper.
He didn’t understand why this Wizard of the Black Sail could stand here, casting such a condescending gaze upon him.
What Andre understood even less were those Sand Servants, that statue, those casually arranged Witch Arrays; these were evidently not simple, yet to this Little Wizard from the West Coast they seemed casually discarded.
He lowered his head, hands supporting the ground, blood dripping from the corners of his mouth, splashing upon the stones, blooming dark red flowers.
Then Andre laughed, a light laugh squeezed from deep within his chest, hoarse, low, with an indescribable meaning.
"Duke." He uttered the name as if savoring something.
He lifted his head. The eyes on the frontal face had changed.
No longer scarlet vertical pupils, but completely blood red, the entire eye glowing.
The glow emanated deep from the pupils, like magma erupting from beneath, like a star’s final blaze before collapsing.
The red light spread, overflowing from his eye sockets, flowing down his cheeks like streams of blood.
The air around Andre began to tremble, an invisible force awakened from deep within his bloodline.
The scattered stones on the ground started to jump, not moved by the wind, but affected by that force, as if the earth itself were afraid.
