Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 945 - 815: Magic Potion Materials

But the Nightmare Plane is not all high-level life.

Like any regular plane, it also has a pyramid ecosystem at the bottom.

There are native creatures below Level 1, unique plants and minerals, and its own operating rules.

Those top-tier beings do not randomly slaughter the low-level life of their plane, just like humans wouldn’t deliberately step on every ant in their view.

Yet, this is still a top-tier plane, the pinnacle existence in the whole Endless Plane.

Because of this, the Wizard Plane is extremely cautious about the Nightmare Plane.

No Wizard Organizations would openly organize expeditions to the Nightmare Plane, not because they don’t want to, but because they’re afraid to.

If the powerful beings of the Nightmare Plane were to notice the Wizard Plane due to unrestrained access, it could bring about an apocalyptic disaster for the Wizard Plane.

Given the current power of the Wizard Plane, it absolutely cannot contend with the Nightmare Plane.

Therefore, channels for entering the Nightmare Plane are extremely rare, and practically no materials from the Nightmare Plane circulate in the market.

Nightmare Dust is actually not a rare thing in the Nightmare Plane.

It naturally appears during certain lunar phases of the Nightmare Plane, akin to dew clinging to certain plants, and it’s not difficult to collect.

The problem is that almost no wizards have a means to enter the Nightmare Plane, and the chance of connecting to it through nightmares is negligible.

So, this ordinarily common material in the Nightmare Plane becomes a priceless commodity in the Wizard Plane.

Typically, when wizards prepare the Pupil of the Rule Horizon, they use other spiritual materials to replace Nightmare Dust, but these substitutes only have thirty to forty percent of the original material’s effectiveness, significantly diminishing the quality of the refined magic potion.

Duke’s situation is different from ordinary wizards.

In his left hand, a passage to the Nightmare Plane lies in slumber.

The Coordinates Earring contains the plane coordinates of the Nightmare Plane.

Duke acquired this earring during his apprentice years, and it once pulled his entire being into the Nightmare Plane.

He still remembers the experience vividly, the gray-white sky devoid of sun or clouds, the cracked earth filled only with bizarre black rocks, the air thick with the scent of age-old dust and decay, and the pervasive sense of pressure, as if the water pressure of the deep sea weighed down upon the Spiritual Sea, making every breath feel burdened.

Duke once encountered a Three-headed Dog in the Nightmare Plane, an encounter that yielded some useful materials.

He also saw a talking Raven Butterfly, trees covered in pale eyes, and a mysterious stone path.

Later, during an investigative mission in the Seville Empire, he once again made contact with the Nightmare Plane; it was a castle projected onto the Nightmare Plane by a runaway ritual, where he destroyed an eye monster whose existence relied on devouring the Spiritual Origin of living beings, acquiring its Eye Crystal, which enhanced his Spiritual Power after purification.

But aside from this, he hasn’t intentionally visited the Nightmare Plane.

It’s not that he doesn’t want to go, but rather he knows that going to the Nightmare Plane with his current power is suicidal.

For an ordinary wizard, opening this door leads to Hell.

But for Duke, opening this door presents an opportunity.

He now needs Nightmare Dust, and in the entire Wizard Plane, apart from him, there may not be many who can directly gather this material from the Nightmare Plane.

Collecting Nightmare Dust is straightforward; one just needs to enter the Nightmare Plane once, observe the lunar phase, then calculate the required Wizard Plane time for specific lunar phases based on library documents and formulas.

Then, at the calculated time, enter the Nightmare Plane again, collect the Nightmare Dust, and leave immediately.

Duke’s greatest reliance is the Coordinates Earring, which he can activate to escape at any time.

Moreover, when he reaches the Nightmare Plane, there will be a temporary safety zone generated by reality projection.

Within a certain period, that projection area doesn’t exist in the Nightmare Plane, thus won’t be detected by the beings from the Nightmare Plane.

The presence of this ensures that Duke won’t be instantly killed upon arrival, allowing him brief time to observe, scan the surroundings, and assess the risks.

As his power increases, Duke realizes that the frequency of trips to the Nightmare Plane will grow.

For him, it is filled not only with crises but also with a vast treasure waiting to be unearthed.

Duke already has a rough idea, followed by the Silent Eternal Seal formula, whose main materials are Void Powder, Silent Heart, and Eternal Ice.

Void Powder comes from void plants, which grow in the void crevices between planes and must be collected in the void itself, making it a high-risk gathering operation.

Silent Heart is an even rarer material, a crystal core formed from special minerals of the Silent Plane naturally tempered over tens of thousands of years under extreme pressure, with the entire process requiring no sound interference, as external sound waves can cause it to shatter.

Eternal Ice is more straightforward, found deep within the eternal ice layers of the Frost Plane; it’s not ordinary ice, but primordial ice crystals that have never thawed since the Frost Plane’s inception, containing the purest form of budding Ice Rules.

Duke arranged the list of the three materials side by side on the table, marking known acquisition channels for each.

Then he sent a brief message to Harrison and Oliver from the Star Dome Commerce Association: "Need a batch of Third-Level Potion raw materials, list attached, can you help search for pricing?"
