Hero Strength - Father of Agriculture and Renowned Author

Jia Sixie was a Governor of Gaoyang Prefecture in the Northern Wei Dynasty around 530BC. He was an expert across all farming types at the time, including; agriculture, farming, forestry, animal husbandry, as well as many more. He was known as the writer of the Qimin Yaoshu, known as the first farming encyclopaedia. The Qimin Yaoshu was a book that covered all of his research and knowledge, that was used for thousands of years afterwards as the foundation for all farming in Ancient China and it’s neighbouring countries.]

The doors opened, revealing a scholar like man with a satchel strapped to his back. Rather than robes similar to Shang Yang, his clothing seemed more rugged as if he had been hiking across some mountains before his arrival. In his hand was a thick book that Shang Yang stared at with interest. Jia Sixie looked to be around forty years old and had an excited grin on his face.

"Finally!" Jia Sixie laughed as he looked towards Dom, Shang Yang and Hatshepsut. He bowed slightly in greeting before continuing. "I am Jia Sixie, governor of Gaoyang. I have come here to serve a new King and help his kingdom flourish."

"You are very welcome Jia Sixie. A man of your talent is something we are currently lacking. I am Lazarus and this is the Lazarus Kingdom" Dom replied honestly, after seeing he was an S grade Agricultural Hero that even Lucius would be happy to have around.

"Jia Sixie?" Shang Yang asked, recognising the name of the man who was even older than him from history. A smile tugged at Shang Yang’s mouth as he looked at the book in his hand. "Is that your Qimin Yaoshu?"

"I haven’t even published it yet and you are aware of it." Jia Sixie replied with a gentle smile.

"With you here, my biggest worry for our Kingdom has been cleared." Shang Yang laughed as he stood up and walked towards Jia Sixie. "I am Prime Minister Shang Yang, we have a lot to discuss!"

"Should I get Lucius?" Hatshepsut asked Shang Yang and Dom, looking at the excitement on the rarely excited Shang Yang’s face.

"Yes please Hatshepsut, and Elder Qiao. If Governor Li Bing is here, get him as well. We have a lot to discuss. Can you tell me about your rice production?" Shang Yang said to Hatshepsut, before turning back to Jia Sixie, almost ignoring those around him.

"I believe that if we dig the trenches lower and incorporate small river fish, they can eat the weeds and larvae of insects that could damage the rice. As the fish get bigger, they are a secondary food source." Jia Sixie explained as he took a seat and opened his book, putting the Satchel down beside him. "I was also thinking we could build some share here for the hot days."

"I think we should leave them to it." Hatshepsut whispered to Dom, giving him a cheeky wink before she left the room.

"I will see you later." Dom said to Shang Yang and Jia Sixie, who both turned to him, realising they had got lost in conversation.

"I will let you know how this conversation goes, we need to prepare food to dispatch to Eruthros if it becomes a prolonged siege. I will speak with Xun Yu after." Shang Yang explained, almost apologetically, but Dom couldn’t help but smile.

"I will come and give you a proper greeting later King Lazarus." Jia Sixie explained politely. "I have brought many seeds I have collected on my journey with me, however I would love to explore your Kingdom and see what is new here we can grow."

"I look forward to hearing what you discover!" Dom replied, realising that Jia Sixie, like Li Bing who arrived days ago, were two extremely important Characters of History and would both have huge impacts to the day to day improvements of the Kingdom.

He soon left the Heroes Hall, leaving Shang Yang and Jia Sixie to speak with each other, knowing that once Lucius arrived, the three of them may be lost for a long time in conversation. He headed towards the new Hoplite Complex where Subutai was waiting for him with the Senior Generals and Strategists. Huang Zhong had the forces training hard, with Dom seeing even some of the Egyptians that had arrived the day before mixed in with some of the Greeks, Persians and other new arrivals.

Dom saw that Subutai was stood outside the Hoplite Complex, talking with Ptolemy one of the other new Heroes. Ptolemy had been assigned as the Governor of the South East of the Kingdom, which was the most active of a warzone out of the areas. His area would cover Futurus and Eruthros which were both on the land border of the Lazarus Kingdom, with the newly found Vindicta and the recent arrival of Plataea. Some other Heroes were nearby such as Xun You, Zhou Yu, Zhao Yun and Tomoe.

"What’s happening?" Dom asked, seeing that Subutai was visibly excited, whilst Ptolemy seemed to be shrugging his shoulders with a lack of understanding.

"Ptolemy’s arrival has updated the Hoplite Complex. I did the daily spawn and we got new units today!" Subutai explained in excitement as he pointed to the side of the Hoplite Complex where ten heavily armoured Hoplite were sat on the back of large powerful warhorses.

"They are my brothers Companion Cavalry, or at least the Companion Cavalry of Macedonia. Not that they are all Macedonian." Ptolemy explained as he looked at the Cavalry himself. "The horses are from Thessaly, powerful beasts that are trained to charge at a Phalanx if needs be. They normally wear bronze armour and Boatian Helmets like the other Boatian’s that you recently acquired, but instead their armour seems to be made from Iron. Their Xyston spears and Kopis Swords also seem to be improved, I wish I had a squadron or two of these myself back in Egypt."

Dom quickly checked the stats of the Hoplite Complex and saw the addition line of the new unit.

25 Armoured Hoplite Warriors a day, (Hoplite will spawn from the forces that make up the Delian League), 6 Spartan Hoplite Warrior a day (Primarily from the Agiads Line), 6 Armoured Hoplite a day (From the forces that make up the Peloponnesian League, including Perioeci.) 4 Marine Hoplite a day (2 from the Delian League and 2 from the Agiads Line). 14 Oarsmen (7 from the Delian League and 7 from the Agiads Line). 2 Macedonian Companion Cavalry (From the time of Phillip II to the death of Ptolemy I Soter)

Spawn Level - Armoured Hoplite Grade A, Spartan Hoplite Grade S, Marine Hoplite Grade B, Oarsmen Grade D

Spawn Type - Armoured Hoplite, Armoured Spartan, Marine Hoplite, Oarsmen

Further Upgrades - Hoplite spawned will range from the start of the Greco-Persian War to the end of the First Peloponnesian War. This is an increase from the original range of the Greco-Persian War. This is due to the arrival of a key Historic figure from the First Peloponnesian War.

Further Upgrades - All Hoplite will be equipped with Iron Weapons and Iron reinforced shields, instead of their Bronze Age versions due to the Hero Ou Yezi.

Further Upgrades - Random Trojan Hoplite. Due to the arrival of a key Historic Figure from the Trojan War, there will be an occasional spawn of a Trojan War Era Hoplite from either the Achaean or Trojan forces.

Further Upgrades - Expertly Trained. All Hoplite arriving will have undergone a level of training in tactics and survival, this is due to having five or more Hoplite related Heroes.

Further Upgrades - Marine Hoplite will be equipped with lighter but improved armour, as well as improved weapons due to the Hero Ou Yezi. They can also work with the Oarsmen if needed.

Further Upgrades - Oarsmen can also be used as low level Hoplite, due to training of the crews to be a full battle unit. Upgrades due to Xanthippus and Pericles.

Further Upgrades can be unlocked throughout the game and Mission Completion. Upgrades in place from related Heroes - Pausanias, Nicomedes, Xanthippus, Pericles, Arimnestos, Penthesilea

"The system says two a day?" Dom asked Subutai, who shrugged in response.

"I hadn’t done a daily spawn as we have been busy preparing and it was a lot of extra work for Huang Zhong. I am trying to bulk the spawns together to twice a week so that we have larger but more manageable groupings." Subutai explained, as Xun You nodded beside him.

"It made the most sense as we can incorporate everyone in to the same basic training, be them Cavalry or Infantry." Xun You explained, as Ptolemy looked over the warriors who were training nearby.

"We can discuss the benefits of the forces when they grow more, ten men is nothing more than a guard at this point." Ptolemy commented, but Subutai didn’t agree with him.

"They are ten now, but they are heavy shock Cavalry and in a few weeks they will be in the hundreds. With the Sarmatian Lancers we already have, the Batavi Cavalry, the Boatian’s that are training under Masistius and the Sarmatian Archers. That is a good balance of Cavalry forces." Subutai replied, as Zhao Yun nodded in agreement. Dom handed Subutai the Blue Elite Unit Cube as he spoke, a smile on his face.

"Where will you use this?" Dom asked, as Ptolemy watched on in interest.

"Now I am torn, do I try it here and hope for more Cavalry, or use it on the Sarmatian Horse Archers. Normally I would choose the Legionaries, or even try it on the Forbidden Guard, but with an enemy approaching us at Eruthros, Cavalry will be helpful as most of that lands if the plains." Subutai explained, before looking towards the Sarmatian Female Horse Archer. "That is more guaranteed to be Cavalry and I did say I wanted to trial that next."

Soon Subutai had used the cube and two hundred heavily armoured women appeared in front of him, mounted on heavily armoured horses with scaled armour that covered their chest and flanks. They had powerful composite bows similar to Subutai’s on their saddle, whilst they held long lances in their hands.

Dom looked at them again, they seemed to be a combination of the Horse Archers and Lancers, but more heavily armoured. Subutai was extremely excited though, saying these would be his personal unit on the battlefield going forwards. Dom was grateful that Centurion Banas was nearby as she was able to take them away and settle them in whilst Dom tried to get Subutai to calm down slightly. Both Subutai and Shang Yang had been overly excited today.

"What is the plan then?" Dom asked as he finally sat down on a bench outside the Hoplite Complex. A Table had been set up with some other benches around it as many of the other available Military Heroes were now with them. The number of Heroes was growing and growing A Map of Eruthros and the known surrounding areas was laid out whilst Zhou Yu and Xun You stood next to it.
