Chapter 190: Structuring [75 PS Bonus Chapter (1)]

Breathing a sigh, Leon admired the view for a few seconds, then slowly raised himself while avoiding the soft mounds. As much as he would have loved to ’accidentally’ crash into them, he wasn’t that shameless.

"Oh, you’re awake..." Gwen noticed his movements and smiled bashfully, looking embarrassed.

Leon stared at her for a few seconds, then nodded. "Thanks for the lap pillow."

Gwen’s face reddened further, but Leon was no longer paying attention to her. He noticed that Fel was nowhere to be seen, probably having disappeared after completing her mischief.

He clicked his tongue, then checked his wound. Instantly, his eyes brightened. His skin was smooth all over, and there was not even a scar left behind.

He had completely healed.

’That means I no longer need to be wary of injuries from Tier Two zombies, huh...’

Smiling, he turned to Gwen. "I need you to check for reliable scientists in the camp. I have something that might help in creating a zombie vaccine."

The lady’s eyes shone with astonishment, and she immediately became serious. "Leave it to me. I’ll let you know my results in a day’s time."

Leon was impressed by how devoted she was to her work, and he couldn’t help but smile.

"Thank you."

Soon, the two of them got off the bus alongside the other civilians, into the Inner Ring of the Floyd Camp.

"Hm, not bad," Gwen smiled, looking around.

Leon nodded, pride in his voice. "Yeah, I made some changes before leaving. It would’ve been unfair to leave everything to you."

Selene walked over, an eyebrow raised. "You? What changes did you make?"

Instantly, Leon’s expression deflated, and he waved casually. "Who cares about that? It’s no longer how it looked like, anyway."

Not wanting to be exposed further, he hurriedly walked away.

Gwen saw him off with a small smile, while Selene rolled her eyes.

"Gwen, you seriously love him?" She asked, her blue eyes narrowed.

The brown-haired lady nodded, her smile widening. "Mn, I’m sure of it. I’ve never loved any man before, but I’m sure this feeling is love."

Selene fell silent, not knowing what to say. While it was irrefutable that Gwen was a bit innocent and naive concerning the matters of the heart, it was wrong to believe that the girl couldn’t differentiate love from other feelings like admiration.

"How did you two even grow that close?" Gwen asked, her lips curving in a smirk. "I thought you disliked him."

Selene blinked, then looked at Leon in the distance. "He... is quite a good man. I didn’t realize it until recently. Besides, we have somewhat similar backstories."

Gwen nodded, already knowing that. Although she didn’t know much, she was aware that Leon didn’t seem to like his father.

"Well, I’m glad you’re finally opening up to someone else other than Rey and me," She smiled.

Selene clicked her tongue. "He’s still a bit infuriating, though."

Gwen laughed heartily, hitting her arm gently.

Still smiling, the two walked towards the villa in the Core Ring.

Behind them, Miguel caught Reymond’s stare directed at Selene and couldn’t help but knock him.

"Bro, are you seriously attracted to her?"

Reymond immediately glared at him. "What’s wrong with that?"

Miguel shook his head, confusion in his eyes. "I don’t know. It just feels weird. Except for her beauty, she’s basically too inhospitable. Always glaring or dismissing people. Not exactly the charming type."

Hearing this, Reymond’s glare softened.

"Well, it’s understandable if you say it that way. Selene isn’t fond of men. I guess I’m the only exception."

Right then, a soft voice whispered at their backs.

"Maybe Boss too?"

They both turned to see Cassie staring at them with narrowed eyes, startling them.

"Sheesh, silent killer. What was that for?" Miguel grumbled, confused about how he hadn’t noticed her.

Instead of answering him, Cassie walked past them. "You should focus on getting stronger rather than discussing women. Be productive."

Reymond stared blankly. "Did she... just give us advice?"

"Yeah..." Miguel muttered. "So weird."

Meanwhile, Leon was dragged all around the villa by Nora who wanted to explore each and every corner of the building. He didn’t refuse and quietly indulged the girl, even carrying her sometimes.

Meanwhile, Gwen and Selene immediately met with Nicolas who welcomed them, and they began working on the house allocation for the new arrivals.

Thankfully, Selene and Nicolas had prepared ahead, so there were some empty buildings prepared for the Williamsburg base civilians. Most of them were allowed to stay in the Inner Ring since they were productive workers, while the unproductive ones were sent to the Outer Ring.

By nightfall, the dining hall in the main villa was packed. Leon, Selene, Gwen, Reymond, Marie, Nora, Fel, Richard, Miguel, Cassie, and Nicolas all sat around the table, each having trays of food set before them.

No one ate yet, as the discussion was meant to proceed first. Leon leaned forward slightly, his elbows resting on the table.

"Has everyone we brought been settled?"

Nicolas nodded, his back straight. "Yes, Leader."

Leon nodded, satisfied. "Effective immediately, Gwen will be handling all the administrative work in the camp, and you’re to assist her, is that understood?"

The man’s brows furrowed briefly, but he nodded. Leon’s words were orders. His part was to obey and follow.

"Good," Leon’s expression eased slightly. "Marie, for the next two weeks, I want you to organize half of the camp’s evolvers and take them for a group hunt in the Mutated Forest. You’ll rotate them per week. The first half will be taken for the first week, and the second half will be taken during the second week."

Marie nodded, listening attentively.

"By the end of it, I want everyone at Level 25. I don’t need to tell you to minimize the casualties, right?"

Hearing this, Marie smiled. "I’ve got it."

Leon was relieved to hear this, and he trusted her with that task. Among his five subordinates, she was the one best suited for it.

Turning slightly, he stared at Richard. "At Tier One now, you can tame more Tier One beasts, right?"

The bespectacled guy nodded. "Yes, Boss."

"Alright," Leon crossed his fingers. "You’ll be entering the forest with Marie. Your task is to tame special mutated beasts. Try to form a mutated beast squad that complement each other. Offense, defense, mobility, reconnaissance, got it?"

Richard nodded, his eyes brightening behind the glasses. "That’s a great idea. I understand, Boss."

Leon turned away from him and looked at Fel and Cassie. "I’ll be assisting you two in completing your evolution requirements. Also, don’t choose classes without my knowledge. Is that understood?"

The two young women nodded.

Miguel and Richard were already Tier One, and they had chosen their classes before he got back. Thankfully, they didn’t choose anything ordinary, as Gwen and Reymond were there to give them advice.

When Leon had asked about their class names and skills, he couldn’t help but be impressed. The two men were destined for greatness—as long as they didn’t die prematurely, that is.

Regardless, the world hadn’t truly ended, and they couldn’t relax yet.
