Leon quietly assessed the young man before him, not saying a single word. After a full minute of tense silence, the young man finally spoke.

His grey eyes shifted to blue as he smiled. "Hello, wanderers. I can see that you’re not a local."

Pausing, he gave an exaggerated sigh. "I’d have loved to give you a tour around the neighborhood, but I’m afraid it’s quite unsafe."

Leon stared at him suspiciously, his eyes narrowed. "A tour would be unnecessary. Instead, I’m curious. Are you the only people who survived here?"

The young man shrugged. "How do I know? I can’t go into each house and start searching for survivors. But I’m confident that the ten of us are the last survivors of this neighborhood."

He suddenly smacked his forehead. "How rude of me! My name is Agnus, and I’m the leader of this little survivor group."

Leon’s wariness eased slightly, and he nodded. "I’m Leonel, but you may call me Leon."

"Leonel, huh..." Agnus suddenly frowned, his eyes turning white like a blind person. He didn’t seem disturbed by the change, but Leon’s group was startled.

Since when could human eyes change color randomly?

After half a minute of silence, Agnus’s countenance changed, and he suddenly seemed ancient.

"Fragment of Darkness, hm? It can’t be ’that’ darkness, right?"

Leon took a cautious step back, his muscles coiling with tension. This guy had actually mentioned the Star Stream’s observation of him!

He didn’t know how he could see it, but Leon didn’t really care. Killing intent flickered across Leon’s eyes as he looked at Agnus.

If he could see the Star Stream’s observation, there was no guarantee he couldn’t also see Leon’s abilities, traits, or even his secrets. Such a person couldn’t be allowed to live.

However, there was a reason Leon hadn’t attacked yet. Something about Agnus was odd. It felt like that voice didn’t belong to him, but to someone else.

The other survivors didn’t react at all. Instead, they lowered their heads with reverent expressions, as though everything happening before them was perfectly normal.

Cautious, Leon asked. "Who are you?"

Agnus’s gaze dimmed slightly, and ’he’ spoke, "Leonel, is it? Would you like to accept me as your Patreon God?"

Hearing this, Leon’s suspicion was confirmed. It wasn’t Agnus speaking. Someone else was using him as a vessel.

A slight frown appeared on his face as he looked at him. "You’re just a Higher Existence, aren’t you? Why play a god?"

Agnus’s expression didn’t change much, but Leon could feel ’his’ shock.

"You... know about us? This world surely amazes me," ’He’ sighed, a faint smile on his lips. "Since you already deduced that, I won’t play around anymore. Someone must have fed you that information, right? Well, you’re right. I’m a Tier Seven Higher Existence, and I genuinely meant it when I asked to be your Patreon God."

Leon’s gaze sharpened, his fingers curling slightly.

’Tier Seven... so he’s as strong as Thyra?’

Behind him, Cassie and Fel were still confused, while Nora only looked at Agnus with interest. However, it was easy to miss her hand that was resting on the hilt of her sword.

Although the girl was clueless about what was happening, she wasn’t relaxed and she was ready to react at any time.

After organizing his thoughts, Leon appeared much calmer and asked, "How long can you stay in his body before you are forced out?"

Agnus rubbed his chin. "Probably a few more minutes. It should be enough for a quick conversation."

"Alright," Leon nodded. "A Patreon God. What does that mean?"

Already expecting the question, Agnus replied. "It’s more like a sponsor system where you’ll fall under my banner, and I will be able to assist you. I don’t need to elaborate on the help I can render. This human boy is already Tier Two, so you should have an idea how helpful I can be."

Leon’s eyes twitched as he reevaluated Agnus. Earlier, he hadn’t sensed any aura of an evolver from him and only thought he was a normal human. Unbelievably, he was Tier Two already.

"What are the restrictions? And which constellation do you belong to?"

Agnus fell silent for a moment, staring at Leon strangely. Then, he shook his head. "There are not many restrictions, but the only important one is that you must join my constellation if you manage to reach Tier Five. And that constellation, is the Arcane Constellation."

Leon fell silent as he processed the information. Having powerful backing and the support of a Tier Seven Higher Existence was an opportunity that many would kill for if they understood the importance.

However, Leon wasn’t deeply tempted. Although he wondered how Agnus had been pushed to Tier Two and was interested, he controlled himself. He couldn’t trust anyone, especially Higher Existences.

Thyra had specifically warned him to keep his Extraction ability a secret from them, as he might be turned into a lab rat instantly.

’Still, he hasn’t mentioned anything about the ability. It’s possible that he can’t see all of my stats and only my observation.’

Leon’s jaw clenched slightly, and he finally looked at Agnus again.

"I’ll keep your offer in mind, but I don’t think I’ll be interested."

Agnus seemed somewhat disappointed, but the expression didn’t linger. It was understandable. Since Leon already had knowledge about Higher Existences and the Constellations, then it meant he had met another Higher Existence somewhere.

’That, in itself, is strange. I only stumbled upon this planet by accident. Could it have been that I unknowingly entered someone’s game board?’

Agnus’s lips widened in a small smile, then ’he’ said, "In that case, I’d very much appreciate if you could bring these survivors with you. All of them are unranked evolvers, and only this body would be somewhat useful to you. He’s an oracle, after all."

Hearing this, Leon reassessed the group, still cautious. Then, after a few seconds of conflicting thoughts, he agreed.

Instantly, Agnus’s eyes changed to yellow, and he fell to the ground, exhausted.

"So... should I assume this is the real Agnus?" Leon asked, his tone plain.

"Y-yes..." Agnus replied weakly, then stood up with the support of two survivors.

"That was the first time Lord Ymir spoke that much..." He smiled slightly. "It seems you’re indeed worth following."
