Fel parked the Hilux vehicle at the familiar hideout, and they all stepped out to continue their journey on foot.

Leon and Agnus moved at the front, with the three females trailing behind them.

"Usually, I don’t go out that much except when I sense a dying Tier One creature so I can steal its crystal. This place has really changed," Agnus spoke, a melancholic expression on his face.

This was his hometown, and he could vividly remember how lively it was. Now, it had become a ghost town with mutated plants taking over the place.

Occasionally, he would pause and stare at familiar buildings by the roadside, comparing them to how they looked two months ago.

There was a vast difference.

"Stop sulking already. We have company," Leon said, opening his hand. The Titanbreaker Spear appeared in his palm, and his fingers tightened around the shaft.

Cassie unsheathed her daggers, while Fel also got on alert. Agnus had snapped out of his melancholy, his eyes narrowed as he spread out his senses.

’Four... five... five Tier One mutated wolves...’

His expression hardened. Just as he was about to speak, Leon beat him to it.

"Fan out," He said.

Agnus blinked in confusion. ’Fan out?’

He was the only one confused, though. Leon already moved, dashing straight at the leader of the pack.

Cassie pivoted to the side, her hands blurring as she descended on two wolves with a flurry of sharp steel. Fel turned to the others, then whispered.

"Poison Cloud."

A faint green mist spread out from her and enveloped the two wolves. They sensed something wrong and tried to attach her. However, they were immediately struck with pain that made their large bodies shudder.

Still, they were Tier One wolves and could hold out a bit. One of them recovered quickly and pounced at Fel. The tan-skinned healer prepared to face it when Nora tugged her hand.

"Aunt Fel! Let me handle it!"

Hearing this, Agnus almost choked as he whipped his head towards her.

With an eager expression, Nora shot at the wolf with speed impossible for the fastest mortal human. Before the mutated wolf could reach Fel, she appeared in its path.

Her sword, which was almost as big as her body, slashed at the wolf’s chest, digging through the flesh and almost reaching the ribs.

The mutated wolf was thrown back, landing roughly on the ground as it struggled to get up.

’Is she... how?’ Agnus stared, wide-eyed. He almost couldn’t believe it!

A young girl looking no older than ten had actually sent a Tier One wolf flying! How was that possible?

Of course, it wasn’t because she was stronger than the wolf. Fel’s Poison Cloud was an insidious ability that hungrily sapped away the target’s physical stats and life force by destroying several cells in the body.

Although Poison Cloud couldn’t kill a Tier One beast outright, it rapidly eroded their muscles and vitality. Within seconds, the wolves had slowed enough for Nora to contend with them.

The little girl was excited at the sight of the large wolf bleeding, and she dashed at it with innocent glee.

The mutated wolf was taken aback, but didn’t think too much. It simply pounced forward and attacked her.

The other wolf had also regained its ability to move and chose to attack her instead of Fel.

Despite facing the pressure of two Tier One beasts, Nora showed no fear. Perhaps it was because she was still a child, but she wasn’t afraid of these scary monsters.

If her Daddy Leon could kill them easily, then she could do the same!

Remembering what her mother had taught her, she shouted inwardly.

’Strength burst!’

Clang! Boom!

Her heavy sword met with the sharp claws of the first wolf, then knocked it back. The beast roared and attacked again.

Nora swung too early, and the wolf slipped beneath her blade. Sharp claws grazed her sleeve, tearing the fabric apart. Her heart skipped a beat as she stumbled.

’Don’t panic,’ She remembered her mother saying during training. ’If you panic, you’re already dead.’

Taking a deep breath, she steadied her footing just as the wolf lunged again.

Clang! Boom!

This time, the wolf was properly repelled, its claws digging into the ground as it skidded several meters backwards.

The second wolf moved to strike her from the side, but Nora’s combat sense was sharp.

’Speed burst!’

She stomped on the ground and shot back, narrowly evading the claws that would have torn open her stomach.

Despite the close feeling of danger, she still smiled.

"Come, bad wolf!"

Once again, she dashed at the two wolves, alternating between speed burst enhancements to escape attacks and strength burst enhancements to deal damage.

Her main ability—Enhancement Burst—allowed her to increase her speed, strength, and stamina for a few seconds, using mana.

Unfortunately, the effects couldn’t be stacked at its unranked level. Still, it was enough to make her a nightmare for the two wolves.

Under normal conditions, they would have torn her apart in the first few seconds. However, with Fel’s Poison wreacking havoc in their systems, they couldn’t.

Agnus watched blankly as the wolves turned slower and slower until one of them eventually fell to her heavysword.

The mutated wolf was beheaded cleanly, and it fell to the ground instantly. The other wolf shuddered, then turned around and fled. Its remaining pack members were already dead.

There was no use fighting a lost battle.

Before it could escape, a black dagger shot straight at it, piercing one of its hind legs.

The mutated wolf let out a pained howl and collapsed to the ground.

Cassie calmly walked towards it, her expression unreadable. She had to give her all to quickly kill those two, so she couldn’t use them to complete her evolution requirements.

This one, however, was different. It was useful.

Nora stepped back, then rushed to Leon who was lazily watching while leaning on his spear. Beside him was the corpse of the alpha mutated wolf, its skull pierced cleanly in a single strike.

"Daddy, look! I killed one!"

The little girl said with a bright grin that seemed to light up the surroundings.

Leon smiled and ruffled her hair. "Good job. Did you level up well?"

"Yes! I’m now Level 22!"

"Oh? Very good. I’ll give you a reward later."

"Really?"

"Of course. You don’t believe me?"

"Not at all. I trust you, dad."

Agnus watched the two chat freely, his expression between confusion and shock. How could they be this relaxed?

Even a little girl was casually talking about killing a Tier One mutated beast like it was nothing.

He sucked in a cold breath, his heart trembling.

’These guys are monsters—especially Leon. No wonder Lord Ymir is very interested in him.’
