World Evolution Apocalypse: I Possess The Extraction Ability

Chapter 207: Evolution Requirements Completed (1) [150 PS Bonus Chapter (4)]

The group quietly returned to the camp, the atmosphere noticeably calmer after their ordeal. The Tier Two mutated crocodile had been treated by Fel under Leon’s orders, and it now followed behind their vehicle like an obedient pet.

"Daddy, do you want to name the beast?" Nora asked, looking at Leon with eyes full of curiosity.

A light smile appeared on his face, and he said, "How about you name it instead?"

"Eh? Really?"

"Of course."

"Yay! I’ll name it Swampy!"

"Oh... uh, that’s not a bad name."

"Should I give it a bad name?"

"No, no. This one is perfectly fine."

"Really?"

"Yes, princess."

"Hehehehe, I named daddy’s pet."

"Yeah, you sure did."

Watching their interaction, Agnus felt a bit of melancholy. He really liked Leon’s group. They reminded him of his people in Marine Park, but unfortunately, he had lost almost all of them.

’I’ll grow stronger. So strong that I can protect what is left of us,’ He smiled to himself. ’Then, I can finally have peace of mind.’

The vehicle pulled into the camp, with the confused mutated crocodile trailing behind.

The evolvers on guard duty were immediately alarmed and prepared to attack, but Leon ordered them to stand down.

After dropping Agnus off at the Inner Ring to go find his people, Leon and the others entered the Core Ring with the mutated crocodile.

Several people who saw the beast were terrified, while the evolvers who saw it could only stare at Leon with newfound reverence.

’Leader has even brought back a powerful beast like this!’ They thought.

While Cassie, Fel, and Nora went straight to the main villa to relax, Leon brought the crocodile to a separate section of the Core Ring.

Behind the Core Ring stood a vast artificial lake, its dark waters stretching across what had once been an abandoned construction site. It had been created by the survivors after the apocalypse, initially as a water reservoir. Now, however, it had found a much more unusual occupant.

Leon glanced at the crocodile and said, "You can settle here for now. If I need you, I’ll call you."

The crocodile tilted its head, then let out a low rumbling from its throat. It walked into the lake and submerged itself within it, leaving only the flat top of its head visible.

Satisfied, Leon turned back and returned to the villa. Although bringing such a powerful creature directly into the camp was dangerous, Leon had considered the risks.

Besides, he was almost completely sure that the mutated crocodile wouldn’t try to rebel or kill people around it.

When he got back, he found Cassie and Fel in the living room, with Nora nowhere in sight. After asking, he learned that the girl had been too tired and returned to her room to sleep.

Leon nodded, then said to the young ladies.

"You shouldn’t rest yet. You both are evolving to Tier One tonight."

Cassie was slightly astonished, while Fel was confused.

"I can understand Cas," She said softly. "But I still don’t know how to complete mine."

Leon walked up to her, then handed her the Life-Mana Siphon ability.

Fel’s eyes widened, and she looked at him in shock. "B-Boss?! This... this is a Tier Two ability."

Hearing this, even Cassie could no longer maintain her composure. A Tier Two ability? She was confident that not even Leon had an ability of that level. No one in the camp did.

Basic Ability Upgrade Cards were rare, and there were only a few of them available in the camp. No one had ever seen an Ability Upgrade Card capable of raising an ability to Tier Two.

’Still, this is a Tier Two ability...’ She thought, staring at the scroll in a daze.

Leon folded his arms and answered Fel in a casual tone.

"What? It’s a useful ability, I know. That’s why I’m giving it to you. Make it quick."

Unexpectedly, Fel’s eyes moistened as she tried to hold back her tears. She had spent the past few weeks watching Leon become stronger and stronger, while her own usefulness seemed to diminish with every new ability he acquired. She had tried not to let it bother her, but deep down, she had wondered if she would eventually become nothing more than another subordinate standing behind him.

And now, he had given her not one, but two abilities specifically suited to her role.

Leon’s expression turned weird, wondering how that was the response to being given a gift.

"I..." Fel wanted to say so many things, but held back. In the end, she settled with gratitude. "Thank you, Boss. I won’t disappoint."

"Good. That’s what I want to hear," Leon said with a faint smile.

He now understood why Fel was moved. Among his subordinates, she had been the most important. Yet, ever since he got the Instant Recovery ability, she had become somewhat useless.

He didn’t always need her healing ability, and only started calling for her help recently. The young lady must have been dejected, feeling completely useless compared to the others.

This was why Leon hadn’t been hesitant at all when he decided to give her the two abilities. Even though he now had monstrous regenerative capabilities, he didn’t forget the value of a healer.

He couldn’t heal others himself, but Fel could. And since that was the role he had assigned to her, he was determined to make her the best in it.

Fel quietly learned the ability, her yellow eyes blazing with determination. Leon’s lips curved at how cute she looked when determined, and he quietly admired her eyes.

Once she was done familiarizing herself with the ability, she looked at Leon, struggling to contain her surprise.

"I’m ready."

Leon nodded and turned around, leading them out of the villa and straight to the Mutated Forest.

’Haa... when I come back tonight, I need some premium relaxation. Probably a lap pillow from Cassie.’

Keeping his thoughts masked behind his calm expression, he took out a device that hadn’t been used in a long while—the Tier One Lifeform Detector.

As they entered the forest, Leon turned it on and it began to scan the mutated beasts around them. Thankfully, the plants here weren’t as crazy as the ones in Marine Park, so they didn’t have to be on guard all the time.

Leon ignored the weaker beasts and only focused on finding a Level 50 mutated beast. Fel’s evolution requirement had been specific, and he was adhering to it.

Soon, he found a perfect target. A Level 50 Tier One Mutated Tiger.

Keeping the device in his storage ring, he said to the two young ladies.

"Stay back, I’ll handle it."
