World Evolution Apocalypse: I Possess The Extraction Ability
Chapter 208: Evolution Requirements Completed (2) [150 PS Bonus Chapter (5)]Before anyone could say a word, Leon shot at the crouching tiger that had been waiting to attack them, startling it.
The mutated beast roared angrily when it saw him suddenly come towards it, then it attacked.
Its massive front paws, packed with sharp claws, came crashing down toward Leon.
Boom!
The mutated tiger jolted in surprise, realizing that the human had actually dodged its attack. Leon appeared by its side, then threw a heavy punch at its ribs.
Bang!
The tiger was knocked off its feet, almost falling to the ground gracelessly. It turned to him with an angry roar, displaying its sharp saber-like canines.
Soon, flames coated its body, and it rushed towards him. Seeing this, Leon was reminded of the Tier One rat Richard and his tamed beasts had killed back in Williamsburg.
’Perfect testing subject for this,’ He thought as he activated Mental Dominion and targeted the tiger.
Immediately, its wild charge was halted, and it stumbled. The creature stared at him with hazy eyes, its steps becoming increasingly unsteady.
Leon didn’t rush but calmly walked towards it.
’So this is how it works, huh...’
He clenched his fist, then knocked a strong blow into the back of the creature’s head.
BAM!
The tiger crumpled to the ground, unable to resist. Its mind had been so thoroughly suppressed by Leon’s ability that it couldn’t even muster any form of resistance. The flames on its body had long since turned off, automatically deactivated.
Leon gestured for Cassie and Fel to come over, and they were surprised to see it dazed and almost unconscious. The mutated tiger was on par with Leon in terms of Level, yet it couldn’t even compete with him at all.
In less than two minutes, it had been completely defeated.
"Hand me your dagger," He said to Cassie, still looking at the beast.
The young lady did as she was told and handed him the unsheathed weapon. Leon twirled it in his hand, then plunged it into the tiger’s ribs.
The mutated beast roared in pain and instinctively lashed out, but Leon easily suppressed it, even increasing the crushing weight of the Mental Dominion ability. The tiger was rendered helpless and could only tremble in pain.
Leon pulled out the dagger stained with its blood, then said to Fel.
"Now’s your turn."
She nodded and crouched by his side, placing a hand on the wound. Leon made sure to keep the tiger tightly pinned to the ground so it wouldn’t suddenly attack her.
However, his worries were unnecessary. The tiger’s mind had been reduced to shambles, and it offered no resistance.
Fel’s hand was enveloped in a sinister purple glow, and white motes of light began to seep out of the wound, condensing into a ball in her hand. The process continued for half a minute until she finally stopped, nearly running out of mana.
Life-Mana Siphon was a powerful Tier Two ability, and with her current level of mana, she could only use it for half a minute.
"Good," Leon said after confirming that she was done.
He wiped Cassie’s dagger clean on the weakened tiger’s fur, then cut his palm with the weapon.
Cassie’s eyes widened as she instinctively moved to stop him. However, realizing why he did that, she stopped.
Fel was straining to keep the life force she absorbed from dispersing, so Leon didn’t delay.
He stretched his injured hand towards her and said, "Use Nature’s Renewal to heal the wound."
Fel did as she was told and used the ability on Leon’s hand. At the same time, she released her control on the life force.
The ball of light broke apart, then drifted toward Leon’s injured palm, sinking into his flesh.
Leon was suddenly enveloped by an euphoric sensation, and his body felt a little warmer. The wounds closed in a mere ten seconds.
"Wow..." Fel couldn’t stop herself from gasping in surprise when she saw how quickly life force could heal a wound.
However, her attention was immediately pulled back to her evolution requirements, which now showed that she had successfully completed them all, and a new message that had appeared.
[Evolve?]
She smiled shyly and said to Leon, "Thank you."
Leon nodded, then looked at the mutated tiger. It had become extremely weak, and with its mind in shambles, it was as good as dead.
He handed the dagger to Fel. "You kill it. You should be able to get a generous boost from the Star Stream by doing that."
Fel nodded and stabbed into the tiger’s neck without hesitation. The beast twitched slightly, then turned limp.
[You have slain a Level 50 Tier One Mutated Sabertooth Tiger!]
[You cannot level up!]
[Progress has been stored!]
The two of them received the same messages, confirming that the beast was now dead. Leon sent its corpse into his storage ring, determined to compare its fire ability to that of the mutated rat.
The group of three quickly moved on, now searching for another Tier One beast that Cassie could use. Since there were no restrictions on the level, Leon settled for a mutated warthog between Level 33 and Level 39.
Although the beast proved to be quite troublesome because of its speed and resilience, Cassie managed to bring it down while sustaining minor injuries.
After a few minutes, her evolution requirements were finally completed and she killed it.
"That’s all for today. We should head back now," Leon said in a tired tone.
No one argued with him, as they were both exhausted too. Under the dim light of the crescent moon, they returned to the camp.
By the time they returned to the camp, the place was already bustling with activity. Several groups of evolvers were unloading their spoils from the day’s hunt, while the smell of freshly prepared food drifted through the air.
Marie and the five hundred-plus evolvers had also just returned from their hunt, and everyone in the main group gathered for dinner in the main villa.
"Man, today was exhausting," Richard complained as he ate, his expression sullen.
He shot Marie an offended look and said, "Couldn’t you have let us rest for a little longer? You were only giving us short breaks."
Marie smiled kindly. "I’m merely training you. Look at how skinny you are. Will you even be able to get yourself a girl?"
Richard choked and hurriedly drank water, his expression darkening. Unfortunately, he had no response to Marie’s words.
Still, he had a good brother who was determined to defend him.
Raising an eyebrow, Miguel looked at Marie. "What do you mean? Richard is very strong despite being skinny, you know that."
He paused, a grin spreading across his face.
"And as for getting a girlfriend, you’re wrong. He already has someone in the talking stage."
Hearing this, almost everyone at the table paused, interested. Only Selene continued to eat quietly.
"Who’s that?" Leon asked, his lips curling.
Chuckling, Miguel replied, "It’s that girl—ow! What was that for?!"
He turned to Richard, only to find the young man glaring daggers at him. His head was instantly filled with question marks.
’What did I do?!’
