World Evolution Apocalypse: I Possess The Extraction Ability
Chapter 260: The Fate Seeker"It was stronger than we thought," Selene said as she dropped the corpse at Leon’s feet.
The young man crouched before it, touching the large feathers. They were as sharp as swords, and he couldn’t help but see them as perfect forging materials.
He was reminded of his blacksmith friends back in the city, and he couldn’t help but feel a little nostalgic.
They had been the ones responsible for creating all the armor worn by the Titanbreaker Legion, and he was proud of them.
’They’ll love this as a gift to work on.’
Placing a hand on it, he sent the body into his storage ring. The internal space was already cramped at this point, and he hoped he wouldn’t need to store anything inside after that.
"We should relax a bit. Since this place is somewhat of a safe zone, we can afford to stay back for an hour or two."
"What do you have in mind?" Selene asked, her blue eyes narrowing.
"What else? Grilled chicken. Don’t tell me you’re uninterested?" He answered, already moving to gather those who could cook.
She stared at him blankly, then shook her head. "You’re really something else."
Reymond walked up to her and smiled sheepishly. "Uh... thanks for the help. I appreciate it."
Selene glanced at him and offered the faintest smile. "It’s alright. We are always looking out for one another."
Reymond’s heart warmed, but he didn’t let it show in his expression. He turned around and walked away.
Selene then walked up to Leon and stretched her hand towards him.
He looked at her hand, looked at her face, then looked back at the hand. After a moment of hesitation, he took her hand and shook it.
"Nice doing business with you?"
Selene’s lips twitched, and she shot him a mild glare. "My Class Scrolls. Hand them over."
"Oh..." Leon blinked in realization and immediately took out the three scrolls that belonged to her. "Here. Are you planning to use one of them?"
She nodded. "The Water Mage Class would be a good supplementary class for me. I don’t plan on using the others, though."
Leon nodded and looked around to find Gwen. "I should go give her own scrolls to her too."
With that, the two of them parted and went different ways. Gwen was busy coordinating the warriors to set up a grilling site large enough to fit a portion of the mutated chicken.
Leon found her and quickly pulled out the three scrolls. "Here. You might want to make some additional upgrades before we continue. I doubt we’ll have time to rest from this point onward."
Gwen nodded and collected the scrolls before excusing herself.
Leon took out the mutated chicken from his storage ring, then tore off an entire leg using his spear. The warriors who saw it were immediately excited.
Although they couldn’t eat much since it was several levels higher than them, they could definitely enjoy a small portion of it.
Leon handed it to them for processing while he chose a nearby building to settle in.
Sitting on the dusty cushion, he took out his own Class Scrolls and set aside the War Cartographer Class and the Master Fisherman Class.
Holding the Predator Class in his hand, he closed his eyes and let it crumble into ashes as it was merged with him.
Although he didn’t know what skills it would give him, he was confident that they would be decent and useful.
’Well then, let’s see it, shall we?’

His eyes narrowed, and he immediately checked out the new skills.
[Skill: Hunter’s Gaze - Fixes the user’s gaze upon a target, allowing them to instill fear and cause a weakening of will or desire to fight]
[Skill: Mark of Prey - Marks a target as the user’s prey, allowing them to sense the target’s general location within a certain range and making it increasingly difficult for the target to shake off the user’s pursuit]
[Skill: Predator’s Recognition - Allows the user to instinctively recognize the relative threat level of living beings, identifying them as prey, rivals, or predators based on their strength, abilities, and danger to the user]
Leon sighed in relief. They weren’t too powerful. However, they were impressive and useful to him. The Mark of Prey was the most important as a vital tracking skill.
In case a creature like the mutated mantis attacked again, he would be able to track it down without difficulty.
Suddenly, he heard a startled scream that sounded like Gwen, and his head snapped towards the sound.
He moved before he realized it, rushing outside the building. Everyone was looking around in confusion too, trying to understand why she had screamed.
Leon and Selene reached her the fastest. To their shock, the young lady’s eyes were bleeding, and her pupils had turned gold.
"Gwen. What’s wrong?"
Leon asked as he held her shoulders. For some reason, he didn’t dare look at her eyes directly. Even Selene avoided looking.
Gwen’s trembling body slowly calmed, and she said weakly. "Leon...get me a blindfold."
Leon didn’t hesitate and took out a cloth from his storage ring, tearing a strip of it and handing it to her. The young lady collected it, then asked for a larger piece.
Using that, she wiped the blood from her face, then tied the first one around her face, blindfolding herself.
A sigh of relief escaped her lips, easing the hearts of her friends.
"Why did your eyes bleed?" Reymond asked softly, his voice etched with worry.
Turning her head to the sound of his voice, Gwen answered in a hesitant voice.
"I... It’s related to my new subclass—Fate Seeker."
