World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch
Chapter 24: Terrifying StrengthWhen Evan saw Anna getting distracted during a battle simply because of a few words from the man, he couldn’t help but shake his head.
He had been trained by Alfred since childhood, and the main thing Alfred had taught him wasn’t how to fight against monsters.
It was how to fight against humans.
Most monsters didn’t have very high intelligence and fought primarily based on instinct.
Humans, on the other hand, were far more troublesome. They didn’t rely solely on their strength when fighting; they also used tactics, deception, and their intelligence.
Alfred had always taught Evan never to blindly trust humans and, if necessary, never to hesitate to take extreme measures.
After all, people could become stronger not only by killing monsters but also by killing other creatures, including humans.
For the sake of power, it wasn’t surprising for some people to even kill their own kin.
So Alfred always told him not to trust people easily.
"Since these people are also slave traders and similar to those bastards, there is no need for me to feel pity for them..." Evan muttered as he recalled the reason behind his hellish childhood training.
He pointed one of his fingers toward the man fighting against Anna.
Instantly, a rotating Wind Bullet formed at his fingertip.
Compared to a normal Wind Bullet, this rotating Wind Bullet was far more powerful.
With a casual flick of his finger, the Wind Bullet instantly turned into an afterimage and shot toward the man fighting Anna.
BANG!
The man with spiky hair was just about to land a hit when blood suddenly burst from his shoulder, and a small hole appeared there.
"Arghhhh!!!"
The man screamed in agony and fell to the ground, a small puddle of blood forming around him.
Anna was stunned by the sudden turn of events and looked at the screaming man with a baffled expression.
The chubby man and William also stopped fighting upon hearing the scream and quickly turned around.
Just like Anna, they were taken aback when they saw the man screaming while desperately trying to stop the bleeding from his shoulder.
Just then, all three of them heard the sound of footsteps and quickly turned toward the source.
As they turned their heads, they saw Evan calmly walking toward them.
"He is..." William and Anna immediately recognized Evan and were momentarily stunned.
But soon, they seemed to realize something, and a shocked expression appeared on Anna’s face.
"That attack just now..." Anna looked at the screaming man on the ground and gulped slightly.
’Don’t tell me it was him who did this...’
Anna was shocked because Evan looked to be around the same age as her and William.
Yet when he had attacked earlier, she hadn’t even been able to see how he had created that hole in the man’s shoulder so easily.
Evan looked at Anna and William before shifting his gaze toward the chubby man.
"Is he also a slave trader?"
William and Anna immediately came back to their senses upon hearing Evan’s question and nodded.
"Yes, they are together."
The instant Evan heard their response, his figure turned into a blur and disappeared.
"What?!"
The chubby man’s eyes widened, and a chill ran down his spine.
But before he could react—
BANG!
A punch landed directly on his chest.
BOOOOOOM!
The man’s body flew backward like a broken kite before crashing into a tree with tremendous force.
CRACK!
The impact was so powerful that the large tree snapped and collapsed to the ground along with him.
William and Anna’s jaws nearly dropped when they saw this and a chill ran down their spines because they hadn’t even been able to see how Evan had moved.
Without caring about the chubby man, Evan’s figure appeared beside the spiky-haired man, who was still screaming in pain.
He lifted his leg and stomped down on his head.
BOOM!
The man’s head was instantly driven into the ground and he struggled for a few seconds before losing consciousness.
Evan calmly withdrew his leg as he had no intention of killing either of them.
It wasn’t because he was unwilling to kill humans.
It was because they were simply too weak.
If he killed them, his level would probably increase by one or two levels. However, considering the difference in their strength, he definitely wouldn’t receive any stat points from killing them.
Evan was already Level 20 and was getting closer to Level 25, the peak of the Unranked realm.
Before reaching Level 25, he wanted to accumulate as many stat points as possible so that he could obtain a powerful class when he underwent his Rank One promotion.
Once Evan confirmed that both slave traders had lost consciousness, he finally turned his attention toward Anna and William.
When Anna and William noticed Evan looking at them, both of them swallowed nervously.
You couldn’t blame them.
They had just watched someone who looked the same age as them crush two grown men as easily as crushing insects.
If Evan wanted to, he could do the same thing to them, and they knew they wouldn’t be able to do anything to stop him.
Evan noticed their nervous expressions and couldn’t help but shake his head helplessly.
"We should inform the guards of Rivo City about what happened here. They can take care of these people."
Hearing this, William and Anna looked at each other and relaxed slightly.
However, they suddenly remembered the three children they had seen and the Rank One slave trader who had remained behind and their expressions immediately changed.
Evan noticed the change in their expressions and raised an eyebrow.
"Is something wrong?"
Hearing Evan’s question, Anna quickly told him everything that had happened before he arrived.
Evan listened carefully and immediately understood the situation.
Moreover, he was genuinely surprised to hear that the third slave trader might be a Rank One Evolver.
’This is troublesome...’
If the slave trader who had remained behind didn’t see the other two men return after some time, he would definitely realize that something had gone wrong.
At that point, he might take the children and flee.
Or, at worst, he might kill the children before running away.
Evan thought for a moment before taking a deep breath.
’Well, I came here to face a Rank One Evolver anyway. So whether it’s a magical beast or a human, it doesn’t matter.’
