Evan studied his grandfather, who stood calmly in the center of the training room with an ordinary wooden sword.

Although Evan had never asked how strong his grandparents were, he knew they were incredibly powerful. They possessed extensive knowledge about evolution and mana, far beyond that of an ordinary person.

He had even once seen his grandfather kill a Rank 2 magical beast with a single punch.

Alfred gestured toward the weapon rack in the training room and said to Evan.

"Take a sword."

Evan nodded and picked up a wooden sword from the weapon rack before standing opposite his grandfather.

Earlier, both Alfred and Evan had left the lawn and entered the underground training ground.

The training ground was enormous, measuring nearly half the size of a football stadium. What amazed Evan even more was that it had been built beneath their home.

Although Evan didn’t know much about magic or the world beyond the outer region of the Dark Forest, he was intelligent enough to realize that such a place could only have been created using Space Magic.

Their house itself was fairly ordinary. It consisted of a small but beautiful lawn and a modest two-story building.

Each floor contained three bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room.

However, beneath that seemingly ordinary house lay a vast training ground. .

The first time Evan had seen it, he was only six years old.

Back then, he had asked Alfred how such a massive training ground could fit beneath their home.

Alfred had simply smiled and told him that it was the base of their villainous organization, and that once he grew up, he would understand how it had been created.

Now Evan was fifteen years old.

Yet he still had no idea how such a gigantic training ground existed beneath their house.

Standing opposite one another, Alfred and Evan raised their wooden swords and began sparring.

It was just a simple spar. Evan attacked with his wooden sword, but Alfred didn’t even move a single step from his position and effortlessly deflected every one of his attacks.

Evan wasn’t surprised by the result, as he had sparred with his grandfather many times before, and it had always ended the same way.

The two exchanged several blows before Alfred nodded and stepped back.

"You have perfectly learned the basic sword techniques," He said before raising the wooden sword in his hand.

"Watch carefully. This is how you use mana without relying on skills."

Mana flowed through Alfred’s body before pouring into the wooden sword.

Suddenly, a faint blue layer appeared around the blade.

"To coat your weapon with mana, you first need to feel its flow within your body. Then, create a connection between your mana and your weapon before gradually infusing your mana into it."

After saying that, Alfred lightly swung the wooden sword, and a sharp whistling sound echoed throughout the training ground.

"Even a simple infusion of mana can greatly increase your weapon’s sharpness, durability, and speed."

He gestured for Evan to attack him.

Evan nodded and immediately swung his sword.

Alfred calmly looked at the incoming wooden sword before slowly swinging his own.

The two swords collided.

However, something happened that Evan had never expected.

Swish!

The instant his sword came into contact with Alfred’s glowing wooden sword, it was sliced cleanly in half.

Alfred’s sword passed through it as effortlessly as a hot knife cutting through butter.

Evan was stunned when he saw this and finally understood why his grandfather wanted him to learn this technique before entering the Dark Forest.

If he mastered Mana Coating, he would be capable of killing much stronger magical beasts, allowing him to obtain a more powerful first Active Skill.

"Take another sword." Alfred lowered the wooden sword in his hand.

"Feel the flow of mana inside your body and create a connection between your mana and your sword before slowly infusing it into the blade."

Evan snapped out of his thoughts after hearing Alfred’s instructions and immediately picked up another wooden sword.

Closing his eyes, he carefully tried to sense the mana flowing throughout his body.

Because his affinity with mana was already exceptionally high, he was able to feel it much more easily than an average person.

Once he sensed it, he attempted to establish a connection between the mana within his body and the sword in his hand.

The moment he tried to pour mana into the weapon, a faint blue layer instantly appeared around the blade.

However, it lasted for barely a second before the wooden sword suddenly shattered into pieces.

At the same time, Evan collapsed onto the floor in exhaustion, feeling as though he had just run a marathon.

His head spun violently, and his entire body felt weak.

"Check your remaining Mana Points."

Alfred’s calm voice reached his ears and Evan immediately opened his status window.

---) Mana: 2/96

Seeing his remaining Mana Points, Evan’s eyes widened in disbelief, and he immediately understood why he suddenly felt so exhausted and dizzy.

Completely confused, he looked toward Alfred and saw him calmly smiling, as though he had expected this outcome from the very beginning.

Knowing Alfred would explain everything, Evan silently waited.

After giving Evan enough time to recover from the dizziness, Alfred finally spoke.

"You see, merely sensing the mana inside your body and infusing it into your weapon isn’t enough. You must also control the amount of mana you are pouring into it."

As he spoke, he once again demonstrated the process.

"If you fail to regulate the quantity properly, you will exhaust your mana within seconds. In the worst-case scenario, even your weapon will be destroyed because it won’t be able to withstand such an excessive amount of mana."

Hearing Alfred’s words, a thoughtful expression appeared on Evan’s face as he finally understood what had gone wrong.

He had poured mana into the sword recklessly without controlling the amount.

As a result, he had consumed an enormous quantity of mana in an instant, causing both the sword to shatter and himself to become completely exhausted.

After understanding his mistake, Evan looked at Alfred and asked the question that mattered the most.

"I can already sense the mana inside my body, and I can also infuse it into my weapon. But how do I control exactly how much mana I want to use when coating my weapon?"

Hearing his grandson’s question, Alfred smiled.

"Think of mana as another organ of your body. You control your hands and feet without consciously thinking about every movement. The same principle applies to mana." He paused for a moment before continuing.

"When you throw a punch, you naturally control how much strength you want to use. Mana works exactly the same way. When coating your weapon, simply decide how much mana you wish to use. Your body will gradually learn to respond to that intention."

Evan carefully listened to his grandfather’s explanation and picked up another wooden sword.

First, he once again sensed the mana flowing through his body.

Then he established a connection between his mana and the sword.

After that, he slowly guided his mana toward the blade.

A faint blue layer of mana appeared around the sword once again.

But unfortunately, just like before, the sword shattered a second later, and Evan’s mana was completely depleted once again.

But he wasn’t discouraged by the failure and immediately drank a Mana Recovery Potion.

After waiting for his mana to recover, he attempted to coat the sword with mana once again.

Third attempt... Fail.

Fourth attempt... Fail.

Again... and again... and again.

For six straight hours, Evan continued practicing without stopping, and every failure taught him something new.

Little by little, his control over mana improved, and finally, after six hours of relentless practice, he successfully learned to control the amount of mana he infused into his weapon.

Inside the training ground, despite an exhausted look on his face, Evan held a glowing blue wooden sword in his hand and swung it around with a joyful smile.

If others were to learn that he had mastered mana control in only six hours, they would be utterly shocked, as an average person required at least fifteen days of continuous practice before they could properly control their mana.

Yet Evan, blessed with an extraordinary affinity for mana accomplished the same feat in merely six hours.

Although Alfred had expected Evan’s talent to be exceptional, even he couldn’t hide his surprise.

Before beginning today’s training, he had estimated that it would take Evan an entire day just to learn how to sense mana, and another full day would likely be needed to master basic mana control.

Instead, he had learned everything within only six hours.

The old man couldn’t help but chuckle after witnessing this absurd scene, and a satisfied smile appeared on his face.

After mastering Mana Coating, Evan was completely exhausted.

But despite his fatigue, he couldn’t hide the excitement on his face, as learning this technique before entering the Dark Forest had greatly increased his chances of hunting higher level magical beasts.

Although there were many more ways to manipulate mana, Alfred chose not to teach Evan everything, as some techniques could only be understood through personal experience.

After leaving the training ground, Evan took a long bath before joining his grandparents for dinner.

Once dinner was over, he returned to his room and collapsed on the bed as the intense mana training had completely drained him.

Thinking about going to Dark Forest tomorrow, a look of anticipation appeared on his face and he finally fall asleep.
