When Evan came closer to the skeleton wolf, it slowly stood up and looked at him with its hollow eye sockets glowing with a sinister red light.
From the aura radiating from its body, Evan estimated that its level was around 33.
When he was only forty meters away, the wolf suddenly raised its head and let out a loud howl.
"AWOOOO!"
The entire bone mountain beneath its feet began to shake violently.
RUMBLE!
Suddenly, several skeletal skulls flew out from the bone mountain.
Evan’s eyes narrowed when he saw them.
Unlike the Bone-Controlling Skeleton Skulls he had encountered before, these skulls were completely ordinary and there was no red glow inside their eye sockets.
"AWOOOO!"
The skeleton wolf howled again, and the next second—
WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
The skulls shot toward Evan at incredible speed.
Evan quickly dodged several of them, but there were simply too many.
He swung the Black Star and destroyed the skulls he couldn’t avoid.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
After dodging and destroying the incoming skulls, Evan finally managed to deal with every single one.
He immediately dashed toward the skeleton wolf, intending to finish it before it could summon more skulls.
However, the wolf suddenly jumped backward, creating a considerable distance between them.
Then it raised its head and howled once again.
"AWOOOO!"
More skulls flew out from the bone mountain and shot toward Evan.
Evan had no choice but to stop chasing the wolf and focus on defending himself.
’Damn it. If only I could use mana, I would have blown its head off with a Wind Bullet...’
Evan grumbled inwardly as he dodged and destroyed the incoming skulls one after another.
But the moment he finished dealing with them and tried to close the distance again, the same thing happened.
The wolf jumped backward and summoned another wave of skulls.
"This is getting annoying!"
Evan gritted his teeth in frustration as he swung his sword and shattered another skull.
’I can’t keep going like this.’
He glanced at the skeleton wolf while continuing to defend himself.
’If this continues, I’ll eventually run out of stamina. Once that happens, the wolf will be able to injure me easily with these skulls.’
Evan carefully looked around, searching for a way to break this stalemate.
Suddenly, an idea flashed through his mind, and a smile slowly appeared on his face.
’Why didn’t I think of this earlier?’
If the skeleton wolf could use the skulls as weapons, why couldn’t he do the same?
Evan quickly destroyed all the incoming skulls.
However, this time, he didn’t charge toward the wolf.
Instead, he bent down and picked up one of the skulls lying on the ground.
He weighed it in his hand before looking toward the skeleton wolf with a devilish smile.
"Let’s see if you can dodge a skull bullet like I did."
Evan pulled his arm back and threw the skull with all his strength.
BOOM!
Because of his tremendous strength, the skull shot forward like a meteor with a loud booming sound.
The distance of forty meters disappeared in the blink of an eye, and the skeleton wolf’s eyes widened.
It didn’t even have enough time to react before—
BOOM!
The skull smashed directly into its head.
Half of the wolf’s skull was blown apart by the impact, and its body collapsed onto the bone mountain.
Evan didn’t waste this opportunity and immediately dashed toward the fallen wolf.
The skeleton wolf was desperately trying to stand up despite half of its head being destroyed.
But before it could even get back on its feet, Evan arrived in front of it.
He clenched his fist and punched directly toward its remaining skull.
BOOM!
His fist smashed into the wolf’s head, completely destroying what remained of its skull.
The skeleton wolf’s body collapsed to the ground and became motionless.
Evan immediately looked at his Status Window.
[You have killed a Rank One Undead Skeleton Wolf, Level 34. You can’t...]
After confirming that the wolf was truly dead, he finally relaxed.
’That was much easier than I expected.’
He turned around and walked away from the bone mountain, continuing deeper into the hallway.
After walking for some time, Evan encountered another bone mountain.
However, this time, two skeleton wolves were sitting on top of it.
Evan didn’t bother approaching them directly.
He simply picked up two skulls from the ground and began walking toward them.
When he got close enough, both skeleton wolves stood up and were about to howl.
But Evan was much faster than them.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
BOOM! BOOM!
Both skulls struck the wolves directly in the head, and just like the previous wolf, their skulls were blown apart by the tremendous force.
Before either wolf could recover, Evan rushed forward and easily finished them off.
After killing both wolves, Evan was about to continue deeper into the dungeon when a notification suddenly appeared before him.
[You have reached the end of the second floor. You can enter the third floor now.]
Seeing the notification, a smile appeared on Evan’s face.
’Finally.’
A large black portal appeared in front of him and without hesitation, Evan stepped inside.
When he emerged from the other side, he found himself standing in a completely different environment.
A graveyard.
Countless tombstones stood throughout the area, while bones were scattered across the ground.
A cold and eerie atmosphere filled the entire place.
Evan looked around with a strange expression.
’Now this finally looks like a Skeleton Graveyard.’
A notification appeared before him.
[You have arrived at the third floor of the dungeon. To start exploring this floor, say "Begin Exploration."]
Evan didn’t immediately begin exploring. Instead, he first set up his tent and took out some food.
The third floor was clearly going to be more difficult than the previous two floors, so he wanted to recover his stamina completely before continuing.
After eating, Evan entered his tent and took out his sleeping bag.
’I never thought I’d be sleeping in a graveyard someday.’
With that thought, Evan soon fell asleep as he was exhausted after fighting for so long.
Five hours later, he opened his eyes and felt completely refreshed.
After packing his tent and storing it inside his Storage Ring, Evan pulled out the Black Star and looked around the eerie graveyard.
He took a deep breath.
"Begin Exploration!"
The moment his voice fell, every tombstone in the graveyard began to shake.
RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
The ground trembled violently, and then one tombstone after another burst apart.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Skeleton Soldiers emerged from beneath the shattered tombstones.
Evan quickly counted them and found there were around thirty Skeleton Soldiers in total.
However, something immediately caught his attention.
Most of them were the same Skeleton Soldiers he had encountered on the first floor.
But among them, five were clearly different.
Their auras were at the Rank One level.
Evan narrowed his eyes as he examined them.
’Five Rank One Skeleton Soldiers...’
Although there were five Rank One Skeleton Soldiers, Evan didn’t feel much pressure from them.
Just like the Rank One Skeleton Soldier on the first floor, these five had only recently entered the Rank One stage.
After analyzing their strength, Evan’s expression relaxed, and he immediately dashed forward.
His first target was the group of unranked Skeleton Soldiers.
SWOOSH!
His figure flashed past them, and—
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
The Skeleton Soldiers were blown apart one after another.
Evan quickly eliminated all twenty-five unranked Skeleton Soldiers.
Then, he turned his attention toward the five Rank One Skeleton Soldiers, and his eyes flashed.
He dashed toward them at full speed.
Since the strength of these five skeletons was similar to that of the Rank One Skeleton Soldier he had encountered on the first floor, Evan easily eliminated them.
Within less than two minutes, all five Rank One Skeleton Soldiers had been reduced to piles of bones.
Evan looked at his Status Window and saw the updated requirements.
[Kill 100 unranked creatures without using mana: 100/100] [(Completed)]
[Kill 10 Rank One creatures: 8/10] [Opponents must be killed within 30 seconds after the start of the fight.]
[Conquer a Rank One dungeon solo without using mana: 0/1]
Looking at his Status Window, a delighted smile appeared on Evan’s face.
’Only two more Rank One enemies.’
His second requirement was almost complete.
However, his expression soon became calm again.
’There’s no point getting excited yet. I still have to conquer this dungeon. If I want to evolve into a Rank One Evolver this year, I can’t afford to become careless just because I’ve completed two requirements.’
With that thought, Evan tightened his grip around the Black Star and began walking deeper into the graveyard.
